HabloRM
Hey all! I'm going to Kentucky Kingdom next week. Just want to know how it is. Thanks! Hablo.
PkiJake13
Small, you will not need a whole day. The best coasters are Chang and Greezed Lighting'. I think it is rather boring, I've been opening weekend since Greezed Loghting' opened and it is never opend the first weekend opened. -Jake
HabloRM
I saw Chang and I went crazy! I love B&M's!
BoddaH1994
I saw Chang and I went crazy! I love B&M's! Hablo, seriously... remember when you were little and you first got the training wheels off of your bike and in your inexperience, you fell and scraped your knee into a bloody mess? Yeah, that was probably about 10x more fun than SFKK. Grease' Lighnin' isn't bad, but you can tell that it's so poorly maintained that you'll almost feel unsafe on it. T2 is just one big kick in the junk after another, and Chang really lacks personality. Note that if they do happen to be busy, the lines will take forever since they only run one train on everything. Other than that, have fun! lol
PKI_WMA
Chang is definitely the star attraction of this park, and it never gets the attention it deserves. A better ride than Mantis at CP, but was quickly trumped by Riddler's Revenge at SFMM and is unfortunately often forgotten. Also be sure to catch Greezed Lightnin' and Hellevator. Enjoy! TRTR Guy
You definitly won't need all day at the park, back in last October I was able to ride everything multiple times, and do some of their Halloween activities except Greezed lightning which was down, but i have ridden it before. And for the first time Quake was open the same day I was there.

BoddaH1994
Looks like I will be taking this park off my list for this summer. I think you said that you're from around here... well, if you're from the Cincy area, it's not too bad for a one time thing. At least you get to up your coaster count, but it's definitely not worth a drive for more than an hour or two.
familyman
I am from Columbus. And for me to take a family of 4 it better be worth at least a days worth of fun. I guess I will try holiday World instead.
PKIFan4Life
I'll be attending with Hablo . I was there back in 1998 (I know forever) and I had a decent time. I'm sure I'll enjoy my time with my friends.

I guess I will try holiday World instead. If you are going to Holiday World, then you may as well swing by the Kingdom. Kentucky Kingdom is on the way to Holiday World, whether you choose to go through Indianapolis and down or by heading down through Cincinnati. Either way you'll head through Louisville, SFKK is only about 10 miles max off your trek to Holiday World. I haven't been to the Park since 2002. Honestly, before Premier Parks bought it, it was shaping up to be a hell of a park. Thunder Run, as it was when I was there, is a fantastic ride! Amazing air. I hear Twisted Twins haven't been running so hot lately, but they used to be fun little rides. Chang? Bleh. Haven't liked it since day one.....rather bland and a little rough. Give me Mantis. I rode Greezed Lightning when it was Viper at SFoG, it was fantastic then. I hear it runs like crap at the Kingdom. Overall, like a lot of their parks, Six Flags has managed to run Kentucky Kingdom right down the drain. Poor operations, one train ops, typically rude employees. There's a reason why I stopped going. Like Ryan said, at least you can up your coaster count. Its worth a few hours of your time. - Todd
PkiJake13
You could probably do Holiday World and SFKK in one day. I really do not get the hype about The Raven and The Legend at Holiday World. The Legend being the better one, Raven was to short and I really didn't perfer any of there rides or coasters. -Jake
HabloRM
Thanks for the opinions so far. I'm sure it'll be a little fun since I've never been there before. I'm looking to have a blast anyways. I'm not going to let a crappy park do that to me. LOL
Mikewhy
I think some people are being too hard on SFKK. It of course pales compared to Kings Island, and I agree that Six Flags has not managed this park well. But it can still be a fun time with Chang, Greezed Lightning, Thunder Run, Hellavator, Twisted Twins. I enjoy Mile High Falls and Blizzard River, but I am sure that will not be running until May. I even enjoy their Mouse coaster, the Giant Wheel, and the Thrill Park theater. There are so many things that Six Flags are doing wrong, but I still enjoy the place and think it is possible for a family to enjoy themselves here for at least 4-5 hours or so. As for rude employees, I have not found them to be any worse then anywhere else, and it seems to have gotten better in the last year. The food is usually pretty below average, and they do have that terrible Six Flags way of running coasters where they are only running one train.. If you go, check out the little Flying Dutchman ride. That used to be at Kings Island!

I mean, you're into parks, it's a park... you're pretty bound to have a good time regardless of the crappyness level. Probably my best memory of SFKK was when I went up there last year with DirtySteve. We went to this foot court there and got our food. When it was time to be rung out, this guy at the register asked if I had a Six Flags season pass because apparently they offer food discounts to passholders. Now, I wasn't try to start **** with the dense little Six Flags boy, but just jokingly, and partially to make conversation, I responded with, "I've got a Paramount season pass, what will that do for me?" He looked at me really confused and asked, "Is that the same thing as a Six Flags season pass?"
CoastersNSich
My two cents: SFKK is an overall good place. Most of their coasters are good... my favorites are Chang (B&M person here) and Greezed Lightnin' (lapbar-only shuttle loop!) Thunder Run is also great, the Road Runner Express is intense, and the Twisted Twins have a few exciting intense points, even with the roughness. T2 is actually acceptable to me. Is it the cleanest, friendliest, most amazing park around? NO. But Six Flags is trying hard to make things better, with more attention on guest service and cleanliness. There are some days I've been to PKI where the paths, bathrooms, ride efficiency, and even some employees have been as bad as at SFKK. Most times I've been there, they've only needed to run one train on their coasters, but do run 2 on Chang and T2 on the busier days. I've also enjoyed their Hellevator, Mile High Falls, Bilizzard River, and Thrill Park theater simulator. And they are adding a Tornado to their waterpark... even if PKI and HW have them, nice addition to SFKK. The Season Passes are amongst the biggest bargains in the industry, and parking is $5, a bargain compared to other parks. I definitely recommend a half-day's visit to the Kingdom, whether on the way to Holiday World, or a simple day trip.
