After last weekend's solo trip to PKI, today brought a welcomed addition to my side. I had a friend come along with me.

Left the home at 6:30am (Indiana time), as usual, and arrived at the park at 10am (Ohio time). Talk about perfect timing. smile.gif

Upon entering the park, I spent a few minutes looking for another person I was to meet up with, but due to lack of planning, I didn't know who I was looking for. tongue.gif

So, with that, it was off to Tomb Raider. Looks like TR:TR had opening day jitters, though...the ride ended up being down all day.

We headed to The Beast, and my guest was on his first coaster (besides Space Mountain, but does that even count?). He had a good time, so we ended up going another time on The Beast.

After The Beast, we headed over to Adventure Express. I figured he should ride it, being a coaster n00b. After getting on AE, I realized I planned the first two coasters out totally backwards. stupid.gif Oh well. He didn't like AE too much, and I can't say as I blame him...I don't like it either.

After AE, it was back to try out Beast one more time. After the final Beast ride of the day, I talked my guest into trying out Flight of Fear. The queue was moving really fast, so our journey in line (from outside the building and into the front seat line) was only 20 minutes tops. (Rough estimate) Well, amazingly enough, my friend really liked FoF and was ready to try an outdoor looping coaster. I told him he could try the rough SoB with 1 inversion, or Vortex (my personal favorite) with numerous inversions. I was thrilled he chose Vortex. We were already in Action Zone, though, and he wanted to hit Top Gun while we were there.

At Top Gun, we noticed only one train going. Bummer. Today was the longest-ever wait I've experienced on this ride. Granted, we waited only around 15 minutes, but I was still shocked. biggrin.gif

Instead of leaving Top Gun and heading straight to Coney for Vortex, we went to HBL and rode SDATHC for the first time. It was a blast! We sat down and were ready to start shooting when the ride stopped moving. The fun part about this, though, was we were still able to shoot and earn points. The ride was only down for a couple minutes, and we were soon off and able to finish the ride...with a whopping 2,800 points. Fun stuff.

FINALLY, we went to Vortex. Vortex's line was moving lightning fast, as always, and we were quickly in my favorite seat: the back. Had a great time on Vortex today, and amazingly enough, my friend LOVED it as much as I did. We got off the ride and got right back in line. After finishing the second ride, my friend wanted another run...so we had at it. We ended our day at PKI with that third ride on Vortex. *sigh* I -heart- that coaster. tongue.gif

...another day at PKI down!

(On a side note, I want to give a shout out to Adam who checked my restraints all 3 rides on Vortex. I would've said hi, but I'm a shy person like that! I also saw a couple other PKICers walking with someone (Diane, maybe?) heading from carousel to the path by IJ. This was around 5pm, the two guys had on PKIC shirts, so one could only assume they're members of the site. tongue.gif Again, no words were exchanged, being the shy person I am.)

I got stuck ont he Beast about a year ago on the first lift hill and they sent up a park represenative to talk with us and tell us everything was ok and that they were just having a few matineance problems. It was strange, I was very upset because I did not want to hav to walk down those thin wooden steps......gives me the creeps.

I was there at the park all day, but if you came to look for me at Delirium, you wouldn't have found me. I got sent for the first half of the day to another ride. I also got to see Diana, Bill, Dane, and Ryan ride my rides.

As often as I visit that park, that was the first time I seen you work at Delirium. It was funny seeing Diana try to get out of the seat after she found out who was driving the thing! "upbar upbar!!!"

I was only teasing her. And she knows it. Only because we love her.

When I got on Delirium on the 2nd, I was waiting to make sure the bars locked, so we could make certain that adam was in, so then it locked, and adam was in, ariel was seated, and so i sat, then she got up, and i couldnt pull the bar up fast enough, STAPLE!! I got my first PKI Staple from Ariel. biggrin.gif

you can tell ariel works that ride, she gives off this vibe about it, when she is there, you can feel her bond to it.

Yet I have never seen her work that ride, I have however seen her work at Slingshot. but that is all.
