I'm going to be in the area and plan to spend the day at PKI on Friday, May 20. Since this is my first time at the park, I've got a few questions.

First, they say the park is open at 9am and the rides open at 10am. When the park opens at 9am can you walk throughout the entire park or just certain parts? Between 9am and 10am can you line up in the ride queue lines or just outside the rides?

Can you recommend a good time to arrive so I can get on the most coasters/thrill rides in the shortest amount of time. I can get there as early as I need to.

My time in the park may be a little limited (leave around 4pm). Do you have any recommendations for what order to ride the rides for the best chance of hitting most of the popular rides. I must ride Beast and Son of Beast, and probably IJ:ST. I'd like to ride Tomb Raider, Flight of Fear, Vortex, Racer, Drop Zone, and Top Gun.

Any and all tips for a first timer in the park would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe you can only walk around certain parts at 9AM. So getting there about 15 minutes before 10 is good. Id definently arrive right at the opening time to try and ride everything you want. Tomb Raider and Flight of Fear will probably have the longest lines and IJ:ST will not be open

well all the rides you said sound good to me..lol i'm not sure about the park opening at 9..never heard about it but that doesn't mean it's not true. i usually just go at 10 when rides are open. it might be that you can get into the parking lot at 9 and start waiting in line outside the park. um... best rides to hit first in my opinion would be beast, Vortex, TR:TR, basically everything in the back of the park cause a lot of people start up in Action Zone first. have fun!

The park does open at 9 but rides dont open till 10

Parking lot opens at either 8:30 or 8:45. The front gates and shops on I-Street open at 9. The main areas of the park and the rides open at 10. Between 9 and 10, guests are pretty much llimited to I-Street.

Anytime you go to pki The Beast is a must ride. I have to forewarn you. SOB is rough!

You may enter international street at 9 am. There is always one section open

from 9am-10am, but this for gold passholders only. I suggest the following rides

are a must- beast, Son of Beast, racer(forward and backward). Delirium, drop

zone, Vortex. I also suggest spongebob in 3-d. As for dinner, i like bubba gumps

and wings diner and happy days diner. If your planning to stay overnight- the

hampton inn on beach boulevard( 1/2 mile) from park is a excellent choice. Have

a great day.

Also take a stroll through the paramount story.It is pretty cool to see all the movies.

IJ:ST will not be open

You seem to know alot about the park. But, IJ:ST not being open on May 20th? Do you know something WE dont?

Hit the low capacity rides first man. Like f/o, drop zone, delerium, and Flight of Fear. Those have the longest lines in the park. Do those first thing and re-ride rides like Vortex, sob, and beast the rest of the time.

Best advice I can give you is to pack food and leave it in the car. Save ya about 20 bucks.

P.S. to my post above. Set aside a little time to cruise Hannah Barbarra Land, it's worth it.

We usually get there around 930 so we can get a good parking spot and by time you get around you wont have to wait long until they let you cruz the park and get on the rides. Make sure you ride the BEAST, you cant go to PKI and not ride it, I would suggest taking some tylenol or Motrin if you are going to ride the SOB, it is rough, but AWSOME!!! Hopefully you will get to ride everything, if not you will have to make plans to come back

Parking lot doesnt open at 8.

As I said earlier, the parking lot opens either at 8:30 or 8:45. Also, sometimes in the summer White Water Canyon won`t open until noon.
