Gordon Bombay
I know theres bowling alley in here now but is there stilll any good stuff being sold in here? I remember they used to sell merchandise from some awesome bands like CKY. Are they still selling anything good?
BoddaH1994
I don't know if you noticed it or not, but they have an oxygen bar in the front window. I may try it some time just out of curiosity.
Gordon Bombay
Yeah I saw it, but what is the point? Breathing flavored air? I can do that for free with a candle.
BoddaH1994
What you have to understand is that the air your breath is something along the lines of 60% oxygen. The other 40% is other naturally occuring gasses and pollution. I think they shoot you with a 90% oxygen mix which gives you a buzz. They're really popular on the west coast. Gordon Bombay
So its like getting high legally? I know its nothing with narcotics but I guess the 90% oxygen feels good to breath?
BoddaH1994
From what I take of it, it's like the opposite of being drunk. As opposed to being groggy and slow, you're energetic and alert.
KIBeast
^Sounds like another white substance.
BoddaH1994
Unlikely. If it had any of the negative effects or addictive traits of cocaine, the FDA would put an end to the whole industry in a heartbeat.
tubaman
What the heck are we talking about?
erniebald57
Obviously Oxygen bars don't get people that high. That's why they exist pretty much nowhere else except the west coast. Maybe it's that the LA folks are so used to breathing smog that a huff of clean oxygen sends them to the moon. It's a novel experience, but that's about it. Reclaimer
I've always wanted to try it...mainly just for the novelty. Anyone know how much it is? And is there some restriction on it that you have to be 18 or anything? I don't see why there would be if it's just oxygen...but you never know. HelixSpiral
No restriction. Like Buddha said, it's just more oxygen per breath then one would get from breathing air. And what makes something addictive? Having to have it? I think oxygen qualifies.

BoddaH1994
I've always wanted to try it...mainly just for the novelty. Anyone know how much it is? And is there some restriction on it that you have to be 18 or anything? I don't see why there would be if it's just oxygen...but you never know. The other day, the guy in the Rock Shop said he THOUGHT it was $5/5 min, which sounds high (no pun intended), but I think that's the going rate at a lot of these places. Take this for what it's worth because the guy wasn't sure.
TQZ
Here is a great article from the FDA about O2 bars. You should read it. http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/2002/602_air.html
