Take a look at what this PKI watersilde enthusiast would design: Craig G. from Indian Spring, OH - There would be two of these side-by-side. You climb down into the tube where a shoulder harness comes up againt your shoulders. The lid closes, lights flash around you, and over the sound system you hear three, two, one, then a huge jet of water pushes against the shoulder harness propelling you down the tube at a high rate of speed. Speeds would reach 60+ mph for fifty or so feet. Once you reach the fifty foot mark, the harness stops and you are free of any device as gravity then takes over. You snake down through many various twists and turns, cris-crossing the other tube as you race towards the end. About 500 yards later, you empty out into a huge pool of water where many water jets, which are fired by onlookers, shoot huge amount of water into the air that pound you from the sky. Your Newsletter Survey Results: We're Listening In a previous issue, we asked for your opinions about Paramount's Kings Island newsletter. We wanted to find out what you thought about this season's issues and how you would like us to change it in the future. Your opinions mean a lot to us and we are here to listen! First off, let us just say thank you to everyone who participated; we received 250 pages of responses. Many of you had some very nice things to say, and we appreciate the compliments. Others provided constructive criticism, such as adding more pictures and changing the layout, and these are items that we will try to address. The most helpful part of the survey was your article suggestions. Several people asked us to write profiles of a ride, a restaurant or an employee. We’ve already started to include these ideas for this season. You also asked for more history articles, which we will work on. Another idea was to have a guest write an article, so keep reading the newsletter because we plan to put all of your great ideas to work. I Almost Swam With The Dolphins My favorite memory of the park occured when I was five. My aunt, uncle and cousins were visiting from Missouri, and my father suggested we all take a trip to Kings Island. It was a hot day, so we took a break from the sun and enjoyed the dolphin show. The trainer was looking for volunters to be a part of the show. My mother stood up and pointed to me! I was chosen to be part of the show. The trainer was asking me questions in front of a full house. He told me he had dropped his other whistle in the dolphin pool and needed some help in retreiving it. Well, I knew how to swim and thought he was seriously asking for my help. So, I took a step up to the pool, put my arms above my head and prepared to dive on in! The trainer snatched me up laughing and said he was just kidding. I was very dissapointed. It was hot out and I really wanted to go for a swim! It ended well, with a dolphin powered ride in a little boat around the pool. I gave the dolphins a pat and a kiss, and spent the rest of the day covered in fish scales. This is a trip I will never forget! When my cousins visit now, we sometimes look at the old home movies my dad made, and sure enough we end up having a good laugh at the day...I almost swam with the dolphins!! Chelsea R. from Dayton, OH will receive two tickets to Paramount's Kings Island. Winners are randomly selected. Submit your entry! Stay tuned for our next issue in two weeks! The 2006 PKI season will debut an expanded version of one of your favorite places in the park! Read an upcoming newsletter issue to find out what will be new in 2006! This year, PKI featured the thrill ride, THE ITALIAN JOB: Stunt Trackâ„¢. Can you tell us the length of the track and how many stunt track drivers got behind the wheel every hour? Last issue we asked, what will line the streets of Rivertown as folks come out to celebrate the season. The answer is paper bag luminaries and colorful mason jar lights. Congratulations to Brenda Y. from Mount Sterling, OH for knowing the correct answer! She will receive two free tickets to Paramount's Kings Island. Source: PKI e-newsletter.
