I remember awhile ago I had a topic about Surf Cincinnati and Zoso Beast commented that he would LOVE to see some pictures from the now defunct and abonded water park:

does anyobe have a old park map? Ive never been there and i want to know what type of slides they had Thanks>>>Brandon!

I remember my last and only visit about 10 years ago. The place was starting to age, with some bumpy slides and such. I did like some of the slides though, like a toboggan slide where you plunge almost straight down and splashing into a pool on a sled, as well as an innertube rapid, like the ones the Beach has.

Even though they did a lot of discounts, as well as a go-kart track, Surf Cincinnati's novelty was wearing away. I guess that the location wasn't the greatest either - it was located at the end of a cul-de-sac in some business park in Forest Park, even though it was visible off I-275 and near the Hamilton Ave. exit.

Not to mention competition; in addition to Kings Island, The Beach and Coney Island, some municipalities have built new pools/mini waterparks, and those drew away from Surf Cincinnati.

In addition to the go kart track they also had bumper boats, mini golf and a few other small attractions. They had a lazy river, some inner tube slides, a few enclosed slides, a few speed slides. I remember going to the place a lot as a kid. One set of two dual racing speed slides could be seen from the highway, they were the same as the racing ones at The Beach. On the lower ends of the stairs to these slides was an about 45 degree angle slide wiht a small raft and one small enclosed slide, they all emptied into the same pool. The big wave pool was towards the front of the park and what remains of it is seen up in that picture. When I went and visited it today I never went past the fence or did anything to tresspass, but I was able to get pictures of some of the old slides still hanging in the air, some old lamp-posts from the mini golf course, and the best thing I could see was where they used to have volley ball nets and big picnic pavillions. However, most of that area was flooded. Everything, including the banquet halls located by it seem to be abonded. It was rather creepy and One time while positioning my camera to look inside where the old bumper boats used to be, I heard something crash very loudly. I will have the pictures up soon.

I thought that they were going to be using the banquet halls to cater special events and such, since the owners decided running the waterpark was not a profitable venture in Cincinnati`s saturated waterpark market. I guess they decided not to do that. It was still nice of The Beach to honor Surf Cincinnati passes that had been bought for the upcoming season after Surf Cincinnati announced that they would close down.

When I was driving around today, one banquet hall had a sign saying "Best wishes Cindy and Steve" but the other two had nothing on them. Their parking lots were filled with weeds as were their sidewalks. Maybe thier not abonded but they sure look that way.

One would have thought that if they were not going to use the land for banquets that they would have tried to sell the land off. Which they might just be doing and no one wants to purchase the land.
