italianchef
Today Mrs. Chef, Toddler Chef, and I went to PKI for a fun family day and to say good-bye to Hanna-Barbera Land. First we rode Yogi's Sky Tours. Next Toddler Chef and I rode Huck's Hot Rod's while Mrs. Chef recorded it to video. After that, my son wanted to ride again, so he did, this time with my wife. Then we rode the Hanna-Barbera Carousel. Next came lunch, burgers and fries, at Festhaus. I finished eating first, so I took a solo ride on The Racer. Then we all rode the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad to the Pumpkin Patch. Toddler Chef had fun running around dressed as a pirate. After that my son went trick-or-treating at PKI. Toddler Chef fell asleep and I took pictures of H-B Land for posterity. Then we went home. Have a great day! Italian Chef
CoastersRZ
Glad you, your wife and Toddler Chef had a fun time! I also stopped by the park today, and got in a couple rides on The Beast and Racer, with a ride each on The Vortex and Adventure Express. The park has added what I assume is more FearFest theming over on the path between Sling Shot and the Festhaus. It is along the same lines of what is in the Cornstalkers area, but without all the cornstalks. It was not on that path last weekend. When I left the park around 4, it was quite crowded, and the cars were still coming into the parking lot!
SixFlagsMasta
I spent the day in big ride land . The morning was great with short lines... but come about 2pm the park just got packed. Vortex was out of the queue.. and that never happens (at least that I've seen). O well I had a great last visit for the year! Glad you and your fam. had a great time Chef
Gordon Bombay
Is Baby Chef now Toddler Chef? While I was working today I saw Admiral Ackbar, Mrs. Admiral, and baby admiral frolicking about and my sister, LesbiasaurusREX, stopped by. italianchef
Is Baby Chef now Toddler Chef? While I was working today I saw Admiral Ackbar, Mrs. Admiral, and baby admiral frolicking about and my sister, LesbiasaurusREX, stopped by. Now that my son is 18-months old, walks, and wears 4T clothes (because he is so tall!!!), I now call him Toddler Chef. Why is my son so tall and me so short I am often asked? Genetics. My wife's family is small and my mother's is, too. However, every male in my father's family under the age of 50 is 6-feet tall or more...except for me. In other words, the short Italian Chef carries tall genes and my son lucked out and got them. Have a great day! Italian Chef
Reclaimer
My Lord, the park was busy today! One of my worst trips. Spent 45 min. in line for Drop Zone, 45 for Delirium, 1 hr for Beast, about 20-30 minutes for Vortex!, 20 minutes for Racer, 45min-1hr for Face/Off, 45 for Tomb Raider, and 20 minutes in line for PsychoPath (which happend to be the only haunt we could fit in) Now, I expected longer lines on a Saturday...a nice one, at that. I've just always been spoiled with short lines, with my Tuesday visits all summer. I just wish I could've gotten more haunts in, as today was my only available day I could visit FearFest this year. side note: BAD experience at Happy Days Diner today. Usually have great, fast, friendly service...today, quite the opposite. Surprisingly enough, the Diner only had two or three people in each of the four open lines...otherwise I'd attribute the sub-par service to being busy. CoastersRZ
I heard that there were around 36,000 people in the park on Saturday!!! That is quite busy! I left around 4, and the lines were starting to get ridiculous. (And no Backwards Racer?) By comparison, today there were only about 4,000 people in the park! I wish I had gone up there today, but I decided to watch the Bengals on tv.
Admiral Ackbar
Yeah, he and my sister came to visit me while I was working then then I saw the Admiral and the Admiral family frolicking through HB as I went on break. Indeed. I am good friends with his sister. Shes kind of cute but im married, and shes not into guys... It was a lot of fun. I was at the park today again and ran into his sister. She is quite a character!
TopThrill
In the morning it was a normall ok day, then as the day went on the people kept coming. My can's were ok in old coney before my break, then as I got off of break all broke loss. There were so many people in coney that it was hard to walk, and to push a truck. One of my sups sad that out front they were lined up almost about to the first line of cars in the lot trying to get in. I've even heard that some of the upper managment in the park were out sweeping, and even the Vice Pres of the park was out helping. Glad you had a great day Italianchef. PKI Pilot
Really that does sound pretty busy. Whats the max number of people it can hold?
SML828
I can't remember what max capacity is, but I know it used to be when we'd hit 50,000 everyone working would get an extra dollar per hour...One summer I think it happened like 3 or 4 times...it doesn't happen often - especially during post-season. Saturday night was packed though...I know they were expecting around 40K.
