Skippy
^If your talking about movie rights, I've already stated that But if your talking about theme park rights, it would be nice of you to share a link! 1933 - King Kong (Warner Bros. Studios) 1976 - King Kong (Paramount Pictures) 2005 - King Kong (Universal Pictures) BTW Scoob, amityboattours.com is run by SkipperNick (Universal Studios Florida JAWS Skipper), who even posts on IOACentral.com and has confirmed many time that JAWS is not closing and will open from it's current rehab on December 16th (he's even explained what details they've added to the attraction) As for Kongfrontation, I don't ever remember hearing it wasn't going to close from anyone! MyShell003
Becareful Skippy thats what Universal said about the Kong attraction and yet it ended up closeing up.I was told by a skipper over at IOACentral that Jaws would close up when the first of the year comes.I hope not! As for Universal Studios Florida's Jaws ride closing, it's a RUMOR! It is not closing and will open from it's current rehab on December 16th! Hello from an IOACentral member. (: JAWS was closed unexpectedly on September 15th. At the same time, many of the fire effects were turned off or toned down in several rides (Spider-Man, Mummy) due to gas prices. JAWS is the most expensive ride in the park to maintain, and it relies heavily on gas. The official word that was given and is still be given to guests is that the ride was down for maintenance. For the first several weeks, no work was done at all on the ride although in recent weeks, there has been some maintenance performed. There was an article in the local paper at the time that JAWS closed stating that the ride was being turned into a "seasonal" attraction and would be open for Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. It is scheduled to reopen December 16th. No word on how long it will be open. Employees are fairly divided on if JAWS is closing for good or not. Some swear it is. Some swear it isn't. Most people that argue that JAWS isn't going away claim that Universal wouldn't close a ride that is the basis of the themeing in the area (Amity). Personally, I plan to ride JAWS as much as possible in December because I think it's going to be closed forever soon.
Skippy
While scrounging around the net for any and every bit of news on PJ's upcoming cinematic masterpeice, "King Kong," I came across something really interesting Below is a picture of the item along with a description: "the head and carcass of King Kong from the DeLaurentiis film still exist at Carolco studios in North Carolina. The head is shuffled around from stage to stage like an unwanted stepchild, while the carcass lies rotting behind the backlot. It's really eerie, and kind of sad, to see that old animal back there. It's just a bunch of old metal bones and hair, but the first time I saw it I got the creeps- I felt like I was violating a gravesite." | Click here for more... In short, it's a prop from Paramount Pictures' 1976 remake of King Kong just sitting around and rotting away when it should be in one of the Paramount Parks on display, being upkept I doubt this is the only Paramount prop being wasted that could be incorported into one of the Paramount Parks. Does anyone else think this would make a great new prop for A Paramount Story, especially since it hasn't been updated in awhile Maybe I'm all on my own on this one! SkootersFan
Paramount Store is really out of date. Update it! It needs more space too...
CoastersRZ
Well, it is kind of landlocked. And quite honestly, very seldom do people go back into Paramount Story. I like it because it is surrounded on most sides by trees and is secluded from most of the hustle and bustle of the rest of the park. The fact that band organ music can be heard lofting through the air from the neighboring Carousel makes the atmosphere all the more relaxing. Yes, it could use some updating with recent Paramount movies. However, I think it is fine just the way it is. I don`t go in there to look at what year each Paramount movie came out. Skippy
Well it wouldn't necessarily have to go into A Paramount Story I only choose that location because it's seems kind of empty lately (with props actually being removed). It could go any where in the park as a matter of fact, just look at the Tomb Raider movie prop; it could even go into a store for display or act a photo op. On a side note, this may be a little off topic but I'm starting to think that using the rights to the original War of the Worlds is the only way we'll ever see that francise located in a Paramount Park, especially if Universal Pictures aquires Dreamworks SKG, as they've been so desperately trying to do so!
