adam12
Don't forget the recent addition of two of the best shows I have seen that haven't come from Disney or Universal--School of Rock LIVE and the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade. I guess you don't remember what entertainment used to be like at the park. Big Sigh! That doesn't just make me sigh! I'm having chest pain! The Subterranean Butler
I have enjoyed being with the Paramount name... you can say all you want about getting rid of them and getting rid of them fast, but they have done some good things. Sadly, despite what we all may think, HB is not what kids watch today... sure, scooby is still around and I definitely grew up watching that stuff, but Spongebob, Dora, Danny Phantom, etc... is what kids watch nowadays. I know, it's hard for us older "kids" but it was a necessary change to keep with the times. Yes, kids still know of Fred and Gang, but they are starting to refernce them as what mom and dad used to watch and nothing more. (yes, those character are getting old, sadly) For those who don't think they have made improvements, I can't quite fathom how a park wins the World's Best Kid's Area every single year the award has been up for grabs. We have one every single year since the awards beginning. Also, for the facts on attendance the numbers PKI was 16th last year, 3.3 million visitors. Notice, the top 12 or so are year round parks, so we are among the best seasonal parks. We are behind a sister park, which we were ahead of in 2004 to be the #1 most visited seasonal park. Paramount has it's flaws, as does every company, but I think they took care of us well, but I still look forward to see what new oweners will bring. cewldre, Is your head really shaped like a football? adam12
this is a pki fansite... I am referring to the site and pki as a sum... you guys complain about the park, yet you are posting on a FANSITE.. Yes, we... you, me, the rest of the folk here, the park itself... Oh, my friend, you could not be further from the truth! I'm a big fan of Kings Island, I LOVE THE PLACE! It is Paramount I'm after, I've never had words with a corporation before, but if I ever get the chance with Paramount or Viacom should I say... LORD HELP EM'!!! I want the park to have a local owner again and the owner to have a passion and a vision for the park! That is something a corporation could never have. -adam12

cewldre
adam, we don't know who the new owners are, yet. Maybe it will be Busch, but then you would have to complain, they're a corporation. It could be Cedar Fair, but wait, that's a corporation... etc... you see my point? We may or may not get a private investor to buy the parks, and even if we do, buying all the parks would be going into a corporation, just like KECO was. Oh, don't get me wrong, they did well, but so has Paramount. Yes, the shows and such have gone downhill. Yes, I do remember the times of shows all the time, the clown band, the german band, etc... It is sad that we don't have them, but don't play down how the park looks now. Frankly, I like the way the park looks, as do many others. It is sad that they went, but the rest of the park looks great because of what Paramount can offer. Like I have said, HB is, sadly, dead. No kid today knows those characters. adam12
I wish I had about 2 billion, I would buy all the parks and then sell them all off except for Kings Island. Like I said before I want Kings Island to be an experiance you can't get anywhere else. Just like it use to be, and have it be its own thing! Don't give me BS about how a large corproation will put more money in it! They won't put any more money in it than what it is bringing in, any owner can do the same thing. They are in it to make money, not run up debt. -adam12

Hell, if there was any corporation that should have been able to utilize these parks with their money it should have been Paramount. I'd rather see a smaller group take the parks over. Do what they've been able to do with the likes of Dollywood. I'm not sure how many folk remember Dollywood pre becoming Dollywood - but it was a dump. Now I don't think anyone can dispute that it's a huge draw and a fantastic experience.

Seriously, kids watch CN, yes, but who are the memorable characters... Spongebob, mainly. A few others too. CN has some shows, but they are always changing. The only thing I can think of that has been around for a little while might be pokemon or yu-gi-oh, but both those are on their way out. Now I don't think anyone can dispute that it's a huge draw and a fantastic experience. I didn't even realize a park was there before Dolly... I thought she built if from the ground up... I love history like that. O MAN! I just has a thought! What if Alan Jackson or George Strait got a hold of it? I know George wouldn't because he is in Texas. But you are on to something! They need some musical talent in the park and someone that knows the business! They could have local bands/singers from all different types of music. We could have Nashville Star and American Idol have auditions there! They would pull people from 5 major cities. They could rebuild the Timber Wolf theater, build it so the roof opens up so they can still have outside concerts, but have it set up to accommodate 20,000+ people and accomidate events like American Idol. That way they could AMUSE more people! Kings Island= AMUSEMENT PARK! The Ideas are endless! I would so love to own a place like Kings Island; they need to have publicity stunts like they did when the Brady Bunch filmed an episode in the park. Not only make people want to come Kings Island, but make them feel it is a MUST see over and over again! -adam12
adam12
I know what we need! We need an owner with some mystery and some awe about them. You know, the kind of person that creates the atmosphere that makes people wonder. With a corporation, you don’t get that. I haven't thought of the right person yet, because there aren't that many people that have billions that have much of a passion for entertainment and a heart for people. I will think of someone, just give me some time. -adam12

adam12
It really is too bad Elvis Presley isn't still kicking... He really loved people and cared about them. If we put him incharge of the detail and direction of the park and a great business man like Ross Perot incharge of the cash, we would have a lot of fights on our hands, but a GREAT product! marlfox_21
i know something no one else knows about the potential buyers!!! HAHAHA Im serious too! Uh huh. Ever hear of the Securities and Exchange Commission? How about we unfreeze W.D. and bring him back from the dead. I'm sure he would know what entertainment is all about. YEAH. Let him run the show. LOL Amusement parks that have success with promoting characters, promote characters worth promoting. You don't go into an amusement park and see something like Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It's nothing more than a fad. ( Maybe you would see them for a day. For example. On sunday meet the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Gang ) But these characters should not be a permanent resident of the park. Instead, promoted characters are usually ones that have been constructed to be able to stand the test of time. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Bugs, Daffy, Snoopy, Scooby. Or in some of these cases, the characters stood the test of time simply through luck. In any case. Nobody wants to go to a park and see Yu-Gi-Oh. Come on, thats pathetic. I would like to add an opinion for some of P.K.I.'s younger audience. If the only shows that you have seen at. K.I. occurred any time after 1992, then you have not seen any good shows at K.I. at all. They used to go all out for entertainment. And to add to that. The shows in the past were actually meant to really entertain. And to make you smile. And laugh. And the people who entertained you, were actually capable of entertaining you. They were truly talented. And I think thats the biggest difference between the new shows and the old shows. ( Seriously, have you attended any of these things?) The people attempting to perform cannot sing to save their lives. The shows seem to turn out to be more annoying than entertaining. I can hardly sit through most of them. Its like going to a really bad high school variety show. Compared to the past shows, which were great. And extremely entertaining. Not to mention, Wild Animal Habitat. Which, like the former shows, is extremely missed. m.f.

I just did in another thread... Just like after recovering from cancer (Paramount), you want to get your life (Kings Island) back to normal. That being said, I hope any ride that can returned to it's origional name will be... This is my list: The Italian Job: Stunt Track- "The heist" The Beast- no change Son of Beast- no change Vortex- no change Flight of Fear- no change Adventure Express- no change The Racer- no change Top Gun- "Flight: F-16" FACE/OFF- "G-FORCE" Delirium- "Manic Cyclone" Tomb Raider: The Ride- "Wayward Safari" DROP ZONE- "shameless plunge" Congo Falls- "Amazon Falls" White Water Canyon- no change SlingShot- no change Xtreme Skyflyer- no change Days of Thunder- remove it Avatar: The Last Airbender- no change Eiffel Tower- no change Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle- replace it early, it is an embarrassment to Kings Island. The Wild Thornberrys River Adventure- no change Paramount Action FX Theatre- "Action FX Theatre" Launch Pad- no change Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad- no change Grand Carousel- no change Viking Fury- no change Shake, Rattle and Roll- no change Scrambler- no change Monster- no change Zephyr- no change Dodgems- no change SCHOOL OF ROCK Live in Concert- its gotta go!--- this show is good, CF can do better. STAR SEARCH LIVE- they should put a stop to this 3rd quarter when CF takes over!--- another embarrassment to Kings Island.
