TopThrill Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 After hearing your commites about Son of Beast, I think the next time I get a off day, I'll have to ride it. To me in 2000 when it opened up, it was smooth and enjoyable, then after that it got badder. I love the station being 50 feet tall, the 218 foot peak height, the 214 foot drop, the huge helix, the 119 foot loop. But the roughness I hated. Thanks for you commites, I'll have to ride it the next chance I get!! Quote
Delirium13 Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Yeah I remember the first time I rode Son of Beast, it was smooth and it passed up The Beast as my favorite ride, but it just got rougher and rougher to the point that I'd only ride it once when I'd go. I cna't wait to ride now to see the difference. Quote
Jasper Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I remember the first time i was at PKI when SOB was there it was closed down and i had heard people talking about termites. Whether that was rue or not i doubt it was though. Quote

Snake Attack! Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I rode it today and waited about 15 minutes for seat 5,2. The ride really wasn't all that bad but i still have to say it was bumpy, now just if you want to walk off the ride with a headache and hurt legs you have to ride it twice. They did a good job but i would still like to see a new trains. By the way i didn't see the extra cars sitting up on the sidetrack so i guess it will be 5 cars for the rest of the year. Quote
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I'm sure losing the extra car certainly factors into the extra length of the line as posted previously, not necessarily the popularity of the ride. Quote
TopThrill Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Yes I think getting some new trains may also help with getting the ride smoother and rerideable thow out the day. Like riding The Beast seven times in a day and not getting painfully sore at the end of the day. Like I did when riding SOB two or more times in a day, it hurts. Quote
Captain Picard Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 I had a ride on SOB today and don't know how anyone would think it is better. I didn't find it any different than last year. It is better than it was in 04 but the same as last year. Quote
PKIVortex Posted June 4, 2006 Author Posted June 4, 2006 Call my crazy, but it did seem a little different to me. Yes the first helix was still extremly rough, but the rest of it wasn't that bad. I have had rougher rides on Racer and The Beast in that back seat. Quote
coasterking123456 Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 It is suppost to be smoother in the middle of cars Quote
Braves0511 Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 i've ridden SOB once (last year), and loved it. I was a bit nervous getting on because everyone says it's so rough, but i really didn't notice it. Felt like a typical wooden roller coaster to me. My dad and i had a rougher ride on The Beast earlier that day, and i won't even go near The Racer any more. Quote
