After an absence from PKIC by being grounded, I'm back. I doubt anyone noticed I was gone though.

After a year with no PKI trips, I finnaly got one. My friend invited me to go with him since in his opinion, I am a coaster enthusiest, which, yea I am. So anyways, the tickets were paid for by his mom, and i was happy.

We arrived at the park around 10:30ish and embarked for The Beast. There was no line pretty much, so my friend and I headed for the back seat, something I had never done before. Wow. Best Beast ride ever. It was running fast too, maybe there was dew on the track, but, it was a great ride. We got right back in line, and sat in the front, which I have never done before, great ride. We got back in line again, and did the back seat again, awesome. But we were stopped at the top of the hill for about 10 seconds, o well.

By this time we lost the other members of our group, so, we just said screw it and went for Vortex. I was a great ride also. After that, we did Flight of Fear, and it too was a great ride. Although, I could see more than I remember seeing in the building.

The Racer was next, and we rode it twice since our line was empty when we got back to the station.

SOB was our next ride. It was rough, but I still managed to enjoy it.

We then went and got lunch, which, man are food prices exspensive...Oh well. I made myself a salad off the condiment bar at Feathus. Man, I'm cheap...

Now, Top Gun had a line much longer than i expected. We only waited five minutes, but normally, there is a couple empty spots in the line, and it was full. So we only got to ride it once. I enjoyed it.

After Top Gun, we went to ride the "Fairly Odd Coaster". The Beastie was a lot better name, anyways.

We walked back towards Tomb Raider and got in line. It was okay...

Since we were there, we got in line again for The Beast, and rode back seat once again. The 3 morning rides were better, but i still enjoyed it very much. There were a lot of people walking around the mantainence roads with cameras a stuff, anybody know what was going on?

IJ:ST was open now, so we got in line. The line looked kinda long, but, I had never road it before, and I wanted to see if it was as short as people said it was. When we were crossing the bride over the track, it broke down. A few people left, but not me. The got it testing again, and it broke down, again. So a lot of people left, but not me. We were now in the front of the line pretty much, and they got it working. Although it was a short ride, and the special effects werent working, I still enjoyed it.

We only had about an hour before we were leaving at six, so we got in line for Vortex. Us, and the people behind us stayed on the coaster since there was nobody in our specific line. It was nice.

I went and spent the rest of my money on games i couldnt win. I was fun. It was now time to leave, so we did.

On the way back, I was happy to get White Castle biggrin.gif And, after ordering a Crave Case while in Chicago on a school trip, I new only to get a few burgers.

This was a great PKI trip and I hope to make it back soon. wacko.gif

Great TR tubaman, glad to have you back and glad to see you enjoyed your day at the park! I agree with you about the food prices; while visiting the park with Boddah and Zoso today we decided to ditch our original plan of getting re-entry stamps and going down the highway to chipotle and instead opted for Happy Days Diner. I got the Fonzi bacon chese burger (1/3 lb.) which came with fries and I purchased a regular sized orange soda drink. THe food was good, but not the best burger I've ever had and definently not worth 13 dollars!! That was outrageous, I could've gotten more food at mcdonalds for a much smaller price.

Hi, Tuba! I'd wondered what happened to you! Glad the grounding is over.

Part of the cost of food in a park ends up going to fund rides, capital investment and even employee salaries. The cost base of running a restaurant in a theme park is much higher than outside. And the expected profit level is, too.

But, there is a thing as too much. And I think several park chains have gotten there this year. Interestingly, Cedar Fair DROPPED most food prices this year, many substantially (quarter cotton candy, anyone?). Perhaps this bodes well for food at KI next year.

And if you like White Castle, you just got to try Krystal. Their Krystals are awesome, and someone who posts here is seriously addicted to their BA burgers. (It is said that stands for Black Angus...many of the customers say it stands for Bad A...er, something else). Whatever it stands for, they are great! They also have tiny little hot dogs (even smaller than Cinci style) called Chili Cheese Pups. The chili on them is, I swear, Armour. Sigh.

I think they are seting up for BeastBuzz because I saw the orange plastic fence by the first drop / first turn.

Sorry this isn't real significant but what games did you play?

Ring Toss, Peach Basket, and I went to the SkeeBall arcade and wasted a lot of money and came home with some crap prizes. But, I enjoy wasting my money on games. As a child I used to have a serious addiction to those claw machine things. I kinda still do, and when i saw the giant claw machines in the park, well I had to try one...2 dollars almost well spent. biggrin.gif

And If you are wondering if you may have seen me at the park, I was wearing a white Hard Rock Cafe Chicago shirt.
