I was wondering if anyone has looked at some of these older closed parks at sites like these. They mention Americana.

It really can be weird to see these places that were once so alive overgrown and forgotten.

Yeah, i was checking that site out earlier... all of the neat looking old parks owned by regular old private people in the twenties and thirties, all to be shut down by the big corporations in the 50s and 60s... I would have loved to have seen some of those places in their prime. The only older park i know of that made it through part of that era is holiday world, it wasn't built in the 20 or 30's but close enough...

Hersheypark started in 1907.It's still alive and kicking.....

Yes, I have watched this sight for some time-it is kinda sad to see the state of things now.......

...and all too soon (in just days), Ohio adds another park to that list.

Sigh.

Erieview isnt being abadoned, its being redeveloped. Its still sad but it wont look like that.

The park will be gone. Make no mistake about that.
