Snake Attack!
Well I finally made it up to Cedar Point yesturday. My bus arrived at 5 after 10 so we got off and my group of buddies decided to try to head back to Marverick first to see if we could catch an hour wait or somthing smaller than normal. When we finally got all the way back there (15 mins later) it was closed. So having never been there we decided to let it go. The first ride of the day ended up being gemini which was a good warm up coaster although it was only running one side we waited about 15 mins for it. After this we knew that we had to get cracking on the bigger attractions so we headed over to Top Thrill Dragster and we waited about 50 mins and got on. I have to say that this was amazing probably the best rollercoaster I have ever been on. I really liked the Intamin rollercoaster (it is Intamin right?) as it was smooth and the restraint wasn't in my way at all. Simply an amazing ride. Then we went to get food which was a mess because we split up and had some trouble getting back together. I got a Rib BBQ sandwich from under the TTD grandstand and I would say it was great. Then we finally met up again at MF and after waiting probably 70mins got on. I never realized how long the ride lasts nor how steep the lift hill was. The view at the top was great and I also really enjoyed the lake wind constantly at us. From there we went right across the way to the Iron Dragon which was pretty good, if The Bat was still around today I would imagine it just like this ride. Then we rode the Mantis which was actually quite painful on my legs although the ride was fun. From there we went back to do Mean Streak which was just terrible, the ride layout was cool but when your in the fetal postion the whole time it wasn't too fun. Then we hung out as I looked at some of the games which I was kindof disappinted in the variety, it seemed the the same things over and over again. Also the two 3pt games were just kindof dead, the employees didn't seem to be having fun and the game to me just seemed boring compared to the one at Kings Island. Finally the last thing we rode was Raptor which was cool becuase of the on ride camera and it was just a great ride as well. In General my trip was great here are a quick list of good and bad things in general. GOOD -Great movement in Guest Relations as I had to get my hand stamped being an employee of KI -Loved the on ride photos and the set up -Station mics was pretty cool -Intamin coasters (my new favorite) -Special bus parking places -Generally fast moving lines -Length of rides! -Friendly employees BAD -Length of walk to different rides -Foreign employees, while I don't mind them being there it just made doing some things like getting directions and making purchases a bit more difficult. -Our games are better! PKIVortex
No Magnum? You also didn't try later for Maverick?
Snake Attack!
Well we only had from 10-6 so there wasn't too much time in there, also none of us knowing the park we didn't necessairly make the most efficent trips, so we ended up just skipping a bunch of rides we couldn't get to. PKIVortex
You'll have to get back and give Magnum a try. Magnum is a great ride.
RaptorGuy
Well, its quite a shame that you didnt get to ride Maverick. That is truly the best coaster on the planet! I rode it 19 times last week, and it got better every time! Cedar Point picked a winner with that one! I have to disagree on thinking that The Bat was like Iron Dragon (aka Dragon Iron). Those coasters were nothing alike. The only similarity is, the 2 lift hills. I also have to disagree about Kings Island's games being better. Honestly, games at any amusement park are a blatant ripoff, but at least at Cedar Point, they dont scream to the top of their lungs on the microphones like they do at Kings Island! Actually, if you want to go to a park where games are a good value, try Kennywood in Miflin Pennsylvania. You can play 3 games there for the price of one at Kings Island! Its a shame you missed Magnum, too. I think they are getting it back up to par after its little tiff last week. Its a great airtime machine. Probably one of the best coasters Arrow has ever put out there. It was once my number one coaster for a long time. Mean Streak is not that bad. You need to ride in the front seat, a great view and good airtime. If you really hated it, be glad you didnt ride it about 3 years ago. They've done a lot of work on it. It used to be worse than Son of Beast, which is saying something! I actually like riding it now. I skipped about 2 years on it earlier in the decade, though. I don't know what you meant about riding it in a fetal position. Its not any different than riding Beast or Racer. The lapbars actually give more room than Beast or Racer, although the seat belts are useless on it. Finally, yea, Raptor is an awesome coaster. Best B&M there is! Its tied for my number one coaster right now. Although, the onride cam is another rip off. My friend Kyle from Michigan bought one and said not to waste your money. I can see his point. POV would be better, not watching yourself ride a ride and not really be able to tell what exactly you're doing. Raptorguy Brian who says, "See YOU At The Point!" There are two coasters in this world I have truely hated. Mean Streak, and American Eagle at SFGAm. I remember them both as being plain awful, and painful. The Interpreter
I bet anything you rode a bad seat on BOTH Mean Streak and American Eagle. On wooden coasters (other than Son of Beast), it is best to ride in any seat BUT the back one of each car. The back seat is over the wheels (on Son of Beast's old trains, both the front AND back seats were over the wheels!) and has a bouncy, rough ride if the track is in bad shape or the trains are worn. I have never had anything more than a bland and unsatisfying ride on Mean Streak (and that's the good rides for it), but American Eagle can be a thing of brilliance, especially on those rare occasions that the brakes are off (no, not the final ones!). Browntggrr
Maybe I need to go back to the point and ride Mean Streak again then. Don't make a special trip to CP just for MS!
The Interpreter
Agreed, but Maverick IS worth a special trip, even if you live in Oahu!
raptor
The Mean Streak is a great coaster, but man does it give me a splitting headache, and I don't often get headaches, it can be really rough at times.

You are so right about that. I sat in one of the back seats on Racer the other day, and all I can say is ouch. It gives such a different ride. I'll stick to either the front seat or middle seat of each car for now on.
