June 18, 200719 yr http://www.mercurynews.com/search/ci_6157079?nclick_check=1 This will be a rather intresting contest. Who do you pi$$ off? The 1.8 million visitors to GA as well as the $5.6 million/ year from CF, or, the SF 49ers who are looking for $160 million from taxpayers in the Santa Clara area. Usually, the NFL has done rather well in looking out for their best intrests and getting their way. But now you are taking on families that pay to enjoy a park that maybe inconvenienced by construction of a stadium that they are also partially paying for through taxes and will never see the insides of. I can only see this getting ugly for the 49ers.
June 19, 200719 yr More on this: http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_6178546 As I said before, it appears to me that if NFL and/or Santa Clara wants this to happen, they may need to grease Cedar Fair's palms with silver . . .
June 20, 200719 yr Good God. I used to live in Santa Clara approx. 3 miles from Great America and left in 1992, and the traffic was unbearable then. I didn't think they could fit something like that so close in that area-it is already wall to wall houses and industry. Interesting.....

September 23, 200718 yr In this article, it is said that there are private behind doors meetings going on about the City of Santa Clara and what to do about the Great America parking lot lease as it regards to the proposed Forty-Niners Stadium: http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_6971933 The proposed move to Santa Clara is by no means settled. How this ends could drastically impact [Cedar Fair's] Great America. Or not.
