PKIVortex Posted June 22, 2007 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Okay, so a friend at work today, asked if I wanted to go to KI this evening for a few hours, how could I pass this up. We arrived at the park at around 5pm to a not busy parking lot. We rode the following rides in 5 hours. Face/Off,15 minute wait, it was one of my friends first time, she loved it. Top Gun, Walk on. Delirium, 1 cycle wait, and I'm starting to believe now that it's really not going as high as before. Backwards Racer, walk on. Firehawk, 20 minute wait, this was the most fun I have had on this ride this year. Both of my friends it was there first time, I was laughing the whole time, because once we flipped over at the top of the lift, one of my friends said "OH MY GOD" But she loved it. Flight of Fear, 10 minute wait. Didn't seem as fast today as my last few rides. Didn't bang me around as much as the last few times. After Flight of Fear we decided that we should eat something as it was 11am this morning since I've last eating. We went to Happy Days Diner. I had a Cheese Burger meal and a large Coke. $12.12, way too much for one person. But I had to eat and we weren't about to leave the park. SP:3D, 5 minute wait. The Film is starting to look bad with some lines in it, I still think it's time to replace this movie. This is one of those rides that I don't ride anymore unless someone in my group wants to do it. Vortex, 5 minute wait same ol Vortex, I still love it. TR:TR, Walk on, boy this rides sucks without sound. White Water Canyon, My friends got soaked, I got wet, but I dried way quicker then my friends, even as the sun was already going down. After this we tried to do DZ but it was closed down, by this time it was about 9:15, so we decided to Vortex again in the front seat then head to The Beast. The Beast, we had to wait until the fireworks were done before we could ride. We would have been on the last cycle before the fireworks, but the lady in front of my friends screwed us up and let someone go ahead of her. So she got on the last cycle and we had to wait 20 minute before our ride. During the time the ride was down, I had a nice conversation with a ride op, she was very friendly, but I disagreed on some of her comments. She said she believes that CF is messing up GL, and they are probably going to close it as why we got Firehawk. She also feels that they are going to run KI into the ground, I disagreed with her on that one. She also said that the prices are way too high, but I also said, CF did raise food prices, but CBS started the trend last year. It was a great 5 hours in the park though, it's so amazing that depending on the people you go with, can make you have a wonderful day in the park. I really had a great time. Being replaced I didn't mean the SB film, I meant the entire movie, it's time for a new movie. I wish they would bring 7th Portal back, I liked that one. "Your in the 7th Portal" "You should have stayed in the safety of your homes, data raiders" LOL of course working on that ride in 2001 I saw that movie so many times. Delirium13 Posted June 23, 2007 Share Posted June 23, 2007 I guess since there is already a topic here I'll post a short report of my day (6/21): It was my 3rd visit this year and I rode (in no particular order) Beast - 5 minute wait, it was running fast but more rough than usual, still a lot of fun. (They need to close up that building in line after the Coke machines.) Firehawk - 45 min.- 1 hr. wait, Great ride, worth the wait and the two ride ops with the microphones were great. (although I do wish they had better shade things in line) Adventure Express - Walk-on, Jerky but fun Vortex - 10 min. wait for back seat, definately the best place to ride it. Top Gun - Would've been a walk-on but waited 5 min. for the front since that is also the best place to ride this underrated coaster. Sponge Bob 3D - I agree, the video and 3D quality is very bad. This movie was good but it needs to be replaced Flight of Fear - 15 min. wait, the queue area looked really bad especially with the lights on and the fact that the movie was off just made it worse, the hangar seemed dead. As for the ride, rode in the front and had a great ride as always. Scooby Doo ATHC (x2) - 10 min. wait each time, I know the queue lights are on for insurance purposes, but it just takes away from the experience. Great ride if you and your friends are competitive. One bad thing, the second time around my gun was broken. Face/Off - Last Ride of the Day, 15 min. wait, Fun but made me feel sick for a little bit and two little girls completely cut in front of a bunch of people by sliding under the hand rails in the station and getting in line at a gate. Overall - A great day to go out and enjoy the park with friends! I saw Son of Beast testing throughout the day with full length trains. I also noticed a 'reindeer crossing' sign on the side of Bubba Gumps and wondered if it was left there on accident from WinterFest. Anyways I had a great time and I apologize if this is hard to follow, I'm really tired. edit-- I would also like to add that the landscaping looks great and the park continues to look cleaner compared to recent years (Good Job Cedar Fair!) edit #2--I got ripped off on drinks. In years past they used to sell 24 oz. bottles at Dip-N-Dots stands, etc. but I got a 20 oz. for $3.50 when I later dicovered that they were on sale for $3.00 in the vending machine.
