The Cincinnati Enquirer presents STAR SPANGLED CELEBRATION Tuesday, July 3rd. Kings Island will light up the sky for Independence Day a day early.

Plan a whole day of non-stop entertainment for the entire family. Just thought you guys would like to know, according to pki.com they are going to have the expanded fireworks this year a day early. Just didn't want you guys to be disappointed if you are going on July 4th.

Seems to me like they might be trying to compete with another popular Fourth of July event. Coney Island is having the 8th annual, LaRosa`s Balloon Glow on July 3rd. The night is capped off with Rozzi`s fireworks on the shores of Lake Como. The rides stay open to ten that night, and judging from past years, it is one of Coney`s busiest days of the season!

^ Or since the 4th is on a Wednesday, they know that some people don't have the 5th of July off, so it is easier to have a fireworks promotion when mom or dad don't have to work the next day.

I am just one of the lucky ones though. We are on a 2 week shutdown starting June 29th.

I'm working anyone on July 4th. I probably won't be going to KI at all during that week, as July 5th starts the Spirit Song events, and the park is usually really crowded on those days.
