sweetpea
Hi, I live in Indiana and have an interest in employment as a seasonal employee. I wanted to see if I can get some insight prior to applying for a position and wasting anyone's time. As i said, I am located about 2 1/2 hours away, but wasnt sure if there was a weekend possibility on employment? Are all shifts early in the morning or is there a split in the middle of the day? Is there a possibility of working all day on both days? If someone could advise I would really appreciate it!
CoastersRZ
Well, with the cost of gas, I would recommend you find a job that is a little closer to home! Not sure about the flexibility of the schedule thing as I`ve never worked at Kings Island. (As an aside, I have a pretty flexible schedule at Coney, and am working weekends only right now as I have a full time co-op job this summer. But some of my flexibility with my schedule comes from the fact that I have worked at Coney now for six years!)
PKIVortex
Kings Island use to offer Weekends only positions. I was Weekends only my first 2 season's at KI. I usually worked All Day shifts. My second season I worked Friday's Saturday's and Sunday's or when they needed me. I worked a lot of All Day's. I could easily get 36 hours in just 3 days which is enough hours for me. My 3rd season however I did work open availability which that was different, but glad I did it for one season. Kings Island is pretty flexible with there scheduling. May I suggest that you call 1-800-288-0808 and press 6 to speak to a Human Resource associate, they would be happy to answer any questions you may have, then you could go from there. I just love KI, grew up with it and thought it would be an interesting part-time job. This would only be supplemental to my full-time job. I have worked with Coca-Cola for 5 years so I understand the flexibility issue. Thanks for the insight!!
bparrott03
I live in dayton, and everyone tells me im crazy for wanting to work there. You live even further away. (no, i don't work at KI though..) For me, its always been a dream, not just a job.. So if its the same for you, I sugest you try it out (you can always call them like suggested, or shoot them a E-mail on the site)

Thanks-I actually thought of calling but was not too sure what detail of information would be disclosed via phone. I would be interested in a weekend only option-for travel reasons obviously! I guess my main concern is would the hours available be worth the cost of gas? I know the opportunity would be....love KI!!!!

No offense. People think I am nuts for even asking, but I think it would be interesting and fun. I was thinking to stay for the weekend and if all else fails take on some coasters! Well thanks and yes, I am 45 miles north of Richmond In actually.
PKIVortex
I live North of Dayton in Englewood and I did it. I'm about an hour way from the park. But of course Gas prices were not anywhere near what they are today when I worked at the park (1999 - 2001).

Oh I would love to get more information and attempt employment. what benefits do they offer other than life skills and an awesome job?
