  1. www.facebook.com kinda like a journal...hard to explain...you can post pics and such, as well as say anything you want give it a go Hmmm, asks you to "Sign Up For Free." I'll pass.
  2. It's amazing how kids run up to the Warner Brothers/Bugs Bunny characters. You would think that hey would not know who any of them were. But they run up and pose for pictures at every Six Flags park.
  3. Actually, food prices were very well in line with what could be purchased outside the park. Those Burgers you site at Humble Pie and Then Burger Bistro were not just burgers. The Beast Burger patties were larger than a Big Mac and the normal gormet burgers were full 1/4 patties. Lettuce, onions and tomatoes were actually prepped and sliced in the commesary. The advent of the season pass arrived in the late 70's/early 80's. I know that I'd had a season pass since for years before I had worked at the park. And No.... Bored I never had been. A Theme Park is More Than Simply The Rides. That is something tha Paramount never understood.
  4. What is a Face Book? Like a year book?
  5. Relatively easy installation and essentially not a lot in the electrical cost when you consider it as advertising and community good will.
  6. Oh that ad is friggin hysterical! LOL I almost spit coffee everywhere!
  7. OH My Gawd! That's the funniest think I've seen this week!
  8. Ohhhhh, I actually kinda get what rex is saying. I too would agree with commercialization of patriotisim. It's like the businesses that don't just fly one flag .... they fly 101 flags. It's absolutely rediculous. Much like commercialization of Christmas, I think that you lose track of what the really important thing is.
  9. I remember Bill before he started using the "You're a Great American Phrase." I'm not certain where he picked it up but it was right before I moved to Atlanta. I remember he was over at one of the neighborhood houses dropping off the NFL Picks for the week and he was telling everyone "You're A Great American." Everyone that was sitting around was like "What?????"
  10. Bill has been a friend of the family for years. He lived down the street from my dad and stepmom for years. He actually is as much of a blowhard in general as he is on his show. The nicest thing I can say about him is that his wife (Penny) is an absolute sweetheart! <G>
  11. *** SCREAMSCAPE REPORTSS Park News - (11/19/08) While Cedar Fair hasn’t confirmed the rumor that they may be dumping the Nick characters for the 2009 season, the latest Carowinds Passholder newsletter does give away a very interesting clue. It seems the park’s old in-park currency known as “Spongebob Dollars” is now being referred to as “SCOOBY-DOO Bucks”. This actually matches up with another rumor on the subject that claimed that the park may go back to using the old Hanna-Barbera characters instead. Currently the website is only referring to them as “Park Dollars”. http://screamscape.com/html/carowinds.htm
  12. Thank You For Keeping Our Industries Humming! P.S. - Most of them Peaches are coming from NC and SC due to the drought. <G>
  13. Are times a lot tougher up North than they seem to be down south? I see all the posts about all the tough times, and other than Circuit City & Famous Dave's closing, we just ain't seeing it in Atlanta.
  14. Yeah! Send Arod Over! I'll Console Him In His Time Of Need!
  15. Like Madonna's Dark Roots Coming Through?
  16. I really like that they're doing auditions so early. Not since before Paramount has there been such a concentration on entertainment. Looks like we can expect more shows next year.
  17. I used to love that show. "I'm CRUSH CRUSH CRUSHING your head!" THANK YOU!! Someone got it! Why so serious? Let's put a smile on that face! One of the Funniest Shows Ever! Beast probably has never heard of Kid's In The Hall - Thus, he missed the humor!
  18. The year before I started working at the park was the last year that the park actually had Beer Carts in the park. The year I started, the serving of beer was pulled into the actual food stands. Stands that served Beer & Alcohol were: International Restaurant, Festhaus, Cafe Kilamonjaro, Munchen Tower, Beer Gardens, Rivertown Potato Works, Columbia Plalace, Tower Drinks, TimberWolf and Cafe Mexicana. That worked very well.
  19. Hmmmm, Filling Gold Star in Mason with KI Employee's after closing time. Having Chili, Coney's and Beer up and until cut off time. The employee parties that the park would have. Tossing people in the Elephant Fountain or Beer Gardens Lake for special occasions. (ie - promotions, etc) Walking through the park after everyone had gone for the day and the absolute peacefullness. Learning more for being a Morning Person, Cashier Foreman, Assistant Supervisor and Supervisor than I learned in College. The friendships that I've been able to maintain for going on 20 years with past coworkers.
  20. My Grandmother has been 28 and holding for going on 60 years.
  21. Yes, but they rise every Halloween - Just Like the Great Pumpkin!
  22. Do you mean members who have been here a long time or members who are old? Terpy, who in his heart knows the answer is.....yes. My mother has told me that I am not allowed to have any more birthdays.
  23. The Achy Breaky dance was pretty basic. Even this big old lug could do it pretty well.
