  1. Flight Deck has been getting a little rougher, but it's still smooth. Then again it's only like 18 years old, I believe. If Vortex's que was a problem it would have been changed years ago. But to be back on topic, it seems that vertical construction will be coming in the next week or two. They have all the parts lined up in the parking lot and the foundation is pretty much completed.
  2. Quick question. Whats THE Son of The Beast? SHhh ITS a secert ride that King Island might open to the public.... .SHHHHHH Its a SECERT! I thought it was that coaster being built in Canada.
  3. Yes, I love the cartoon maps. Not really, but those are the only maps I've collected.
  4. I love the restraints on Diamondback. It makes the ride a lot more exciting and you can actually put your hands up.
  5. I always was frightened by Drop Tower.
  6. I used to love the King Cobra. But now I like Delirium a lot better.
  7. They're sending us back in time.
  8. Wow, it looks so odd not seeing Delirium. But then again when King Cobra was tore down, I said the same thing.
  9. Well, I have one of these in my backyard for my kids and it's not very fun for them. So I'd love to see how this will turn out.
  10. I love comparing pictures. It's pretty cool to see how much the park has changed.
  11. In the spirit of safety, this was a move that was necessary. Not necessarily. Big Dipper kept skid brakes up until it closed. It was more for the spirit of maintenance than safety. It was absolutely necessary. The current magentic brakes were a direct result of an accident on Beast. Although not a fan favorite, the magnets are able to still be effective in wet conditions. Also, comparing two entirely different coasters is apples and oranges. I do remember at one time hearing about one the trains coming into the station and bumping into another. But I don't think that had anything to do with what we're talking about.
  12. I could have fell over that when I was young.
  13. I like the solid Red trains better.
  14. I seem to enjoy the park under Cedar Fair's control a lot better. I don't know if it's because they themed an area to my favorite childhood show, or if it's because the park is cleaner. But I feel that Cedar Fair is more family friendly. And it sort of reminds me of Kings Island in the 80's. So for me I'd say Cedar Fair has done a better job.
  15. I wear cargo shorts. Or I usually hand it to someone else with me that won't ride any coasters.
  16. Job is leaving, but then again I could always drop my job, to work at Kings Island....
  17. Well, it's not like he will get in trouble for it. The person who puts it on the site would.
  18. All I can say, is that the rides are there now and it is the present, so I'm really not worried about what happens to them in the future. Knowing sooner or later I'll be leaving Ohio.
  19. There would have to be a miracle for Son of Beast to open on April 30th. But I've also heard, from a source that some of the track was missing, but the source isn't 100% reliable.
  20. I love looking at pictures of International Street, it brings back good and bad memories.
  21. I'd love to see The Racer's get the retro paint scheme. But then again, I don't think it would look very good with the WindSeeker.
  22. That's what I was getting at, it's not worth the money. Son of Beast has been closed so long, why would they spend millions of dollars that may not work. If anything it's the structure that would need to be fixed. But then that's more money wasted on something that isn't worth it. So it seems that the best bet is to bring it down.
  23. Neglect to me is Chippewa Lake. But, its hard telling what the parks going to do. So much has been told about the coaster and it's a 50/50 chance that it's true or not. Do I believe it will get the Steel Treatment, not likely. It's really hard to tell. I mean how much have they done on the coaster already. What more can they do.
  24. Not sure I understand your statement. I have watched movement on the webcam all day today and the date stamp and time is up to date. Seems like real time to me. Definitely don't think they will carry it on top of those new pavers! reading this made me imagine Kings Island having a helicopter airlift all the pieces into place for the WindSeeker tower. And then a couple pieces taking a 300 ft. plunge.
