  1. As much as I want a RMC I am currently in the GCI camp, sorry GavPenn lol, but the layout just looks like a GCI to me. If KI was building a RMC from the ground up They could have used less terrain with overbanks and inversions IMO...
  2. This year will be my 1st Pride Day at KI and I am ready to have a blast!!! Father's day at CP, unofficial gay day, is always a great time!!!
  3. I love The Beast, always have since I was a kid. And I understand that it is a huge part of KI's history and coaster history in general. But I see that a few other members are ok with new trains, as I would be ok with them too! So I have to ask, if new trains are ok, rather original PTC's, non hacked, or Millenium Flyers, what makes some so against a small reprofile job like the GhostRider retrack? Now please wait, don't get out the torches yet lol! I'm not saying change as much as GhostRider did. Just more banking in some of the turns in the section after the brake shed leading into the 2nd lift hill, to allow less braking in said shed, and maybe reprofile the "airtime" hill after you pull out of the first drop to give a little pop of air. Again just my opinion, I love The Beast and always will, I have bought more KI gold passes that CP season passes in the last 10 years and that won't change regardless if Beast changes or just gets it's normal off season TLC. Just a thought and wondered how other KICers felt about it?
  4. BeastGal do you think both KI and CP will get RMC's the same year? Assuming Mean Streak is getting an upgrade since it is closing in June... MIcoasterguy going straight to the horses mouth...
  5. I envision project 2017 going towards DB going on its lift hill and going under the train bridge on the decent to getting extra speed and or height from the initial drop...
  6. @Logan Goddard The initial layout I seen posted photoshopped over Google Maps showed a layout where our 2017 goes under the train tracks, the suspected plans are almost what I see here but they are to the right of the reservoir, the 1st drop is under the bridge and the turn around is near the clearing near DB's hammerhead...
  7. I have thought that as well @silver2005... maybe KI will get the RMC to compete with KK and Mean Streak will get a GCI retracking/reprofiling that it desperately needs lol, but a July closing of Mean Streak means something big is coming if you can completely "RMC" a older Dinn&Summers coaster of similar size in similar time, not counting NTG, but if GCI is reprofiling Mean Streak for 2017 and KI is getting and RMC that could work out from a business standpoint since the GP doesn't really know what a "reprofiling" means and will still see the same crappy ride, so if we get the 1st CF RMC before CP they already have plans for Mean Streak for the future and KI is again the testing ground for a future endeavor, i.e. Fast Lane, but I hope that if this means if the KI coaster goes off without a hitch we will get the tallest, fastest, longest RMC in the world at CP with a Mean Streak reboot!!!
  8. ^^^ This is what I am hoping for as well!!! A wooded area around the ride with a tunnel or two to increase the sense of speed, that would fit in with KI's lineup IMO... KI is known for using their terrain to their advantage for lack of a better word lol, i.e. Banshee, Beast, Bat, Adventure Express, even DB if you include the splash down, so I could see this ride being a great addition to KI! Any know if there is a elevation drop in the suspected construction area??? I know the park is notorious for having rugged terrain...
  9. I would make the trip for blueprints of all the coasters without a doubt @Mrs. No Chickens!!! It would help with my recreations of KI on RCT3 and Nolimits2 immensely lol
  10. Not sure if that was just a general response or directed towards my post I agree with bullet points 2 and 5 as I am happy with any new addition to KI so point 1 is invalid, however I do hope to save as many trees as possible so you hit the right note on that part, and you are right again on the Capital Investment being reserved for KI, which is the #3 park in the chain, which makes more money than the bottom 3 combined, so I would think a giga is coming, but just not now...
  11. Here is thought that just crossed my mind... If Mean Streak is getting a RMC Conversion for 2017, only suggesting that because the crew will be reassigned to different rides in july and the Screamscape rumor, do we really think that CF would invest in opening 2 RMC's opening the same year at KI and CP? My 1st thought says no, being from Michigan but also a Platinum Pass holder KI is a 4:45 min drive for me, yet CP is about 2:45 mins yet KI is my "home park"...I know I'm weird right lol, but back on track, I visited CP more in 2013 when Gatekeeper opened because I went with other friends who wanted to ride the shiny new coaster, however in 2014 I was able to convince some of those same peeps to make the treck to KI most of whom where first time visitors, to check out Banshee and I ended up making more trips to KI that season! I would like to think that CF as a money making company would not open a shiny new RMC at both parks the same year. I'm just saying this again because of the marketability of the ride to the GP. If both parks get a RMC, one being from the ground up for KI, the other being a Mean Streak conversion, I am pretty sure the CP RMC will be "taller, faster, steeper, longer" than what KI recieves. So that could hurt a potential boost in guests for KI. So since we have a potential layout and Decoding will probably turn to manufacturers or placement of layout in the construction area visible to us, I am currently thinking this is from GCI and not RMC... but I am just Decoding and know nothing since I am not willing to drive almost 5hrs to Mason and get Blueprints lol
  12. Your version of project 2017 RMC, was pretty freaking sweet!!! That would overtake Diamondback as new fav at KI for sure!!!
  13. Banshee has the usual B&M Roar along with the associated B&M Rattle from the anti-rollbacks, i.e. Diamondback after its 1st drop, Banshee on the drop out of the dive loop... But Banshee was the example of what I want from a Giga coaster if Project 2017 is from B&M, I hope it is unlike Gatekeeper in its mild intensity, and more like recent B&M's, like Fury325, Wild Eagle, and Thunderbird...
  14. That last tweet has me even more curious now, heading over to the train after I ride Adventure Express!
  15. CP does have a great lineup of coasters, but for me I happen to just prefer some of the experiences KI's coasters provide in comparison to their CP counterparts, Vortex > Corkscrew Adventure Express > Cedar Creek Mine Ride Beast > Mean Streak Banshee > Raptor Diamondback > Magnum The Bat > Iron Dragon Now if 2017 is a B&M Giga or a nice terrain hugging GCI woodie with a great layout, KI would another great experience CP doesn't have. We may not have a strata coaster, a wingrider, or twisted impulse coaster, but CP doesn't have a Vekoma Flying Dutchman, a Vekoma Inverted Boomerang, or 2 Premier Launched coasters. Two different lineups, both great in their own right in my opinion. It just makes me anxious for more Project 2017 info or leaks to come to light and how KI will wow us with the new attraction, will it be the longest, tallest, or fastest of it's kind?
  16. We just got Tropical Plunge this year but I guess anything is possible, as of now I am currently thinking this could be a coaster but I am just decoding like the rest of the bunch lol
  17. I agree completely LoraX! That is what makes KI special and different from CP our coasters are unique and I would love to see B&M try their hand at a terrain hugging launched coaster or maybe a wing coaster with some intensity.
  18. I have a love for KI over CP as well! The charm and setting of the park is the reason I drive an extra two hours each coaster trip and the reason I have a platinum pass! There is something special about KI that has made me feel like I rather visit there than anywhere else, within driving distance for a quick #staycation, I have CP 2hrs and 40mins away, MIA 3.5hrs away, SFGAm 5hrs away and KI is 4hrs 45mins but I visit KI the most. Back on decoding... The excess clearing of trees around the WWC queue/exit is very mysterious indeed... Project 2017 could be KI's biggest Coaster yet, the clearing out by the waterpark all the way out to Diamondback's hammerhead...
  19. I love me some B&M don't get me wrong, but my favorite coasters are Maverick and Millennium Force respectively, proving that height doesn't mean everything when you are judging overall ride experience, my #3 is Diamondback just in case you didn't read my post a couple pages back lol, but after riding Multiple Batman The Ride clones, Raptor, Mantis ,Rougarou, Dominator, Gatekeeper, Iron Wolf, X-Flight, Great Bear, Wild Eagle, and too many to name in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas'... I have come to feel like Banshee was the first new B&M to actually give me strong positive and negative G forces. And I am not hating on Diamondback for it's negative G forces and floater air on 8 of it's moments of airtime
  20. @Hoeter I love almost every B&M I have ridden! They aren't all as forceful as I would have liked them to be and that was the reason for my post. Some older B&M's i.e. Raptor, Apollo's Chariot, even Raging Bull are older B&M's that give you a forceful ride, being older I appreciate a coaster being, out of control, that's half the experience lol
  21. @pyrokenesis what does the location of our park have to do with this topic? KI is the 3rd most visited seasonal park in North America behind Canada's Wonderland and Cedar Point, the coaster capital of the world, and yet KI served less tha 300,000 more visitors that CP in 2015, without having the easy marketing or being the coaster capital. Cedar Fair bought the Paramount parks specifically for KI, it was the gem in the chain, and still continues to win Golden Ticket Awards for beat Kids Area evey year, the demographic is different and I could see KI becoming the Flagship CF park in like 10 - 15 yrs, not now but soon for sure. Matt Quimet already expressed that he loved the Kings Parks, Dominion and Island.
  22. We have to wait for another Intamin product to nearly kill people. Only then will we get more credits. Shoot the Rapids wasn't enough?!?!? If not for the quick response of park goers and not employees, that situation could have turned out alot worse... Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
  23. Best post of the day goes to @bm0324!!! Will we have left over credits for a new Intamin Inverted Impulse Coaster for KI???
  24. After riding Gatekeeper and Banshee, two different coasters opened 1 year apart, but completely different ride experiences, I feel like B&M is capable of providing two different types of ride experiences. Banshee is the most forceful B&M I have ever ridden, even after riding Raptor after 20yrs of service! And let's face it Raptor is more forceful than Gatekeeper even on it's slowest run, in southwest winds, with a full stop at the mid course brake run lmao!!!
