  1. BTW Nugbos, aka SOBGUN, I already figured out who you are in another thread and busted you out. You're not the least bit clever. And yes, you are annoying.
  2. Now, I have heard many people saying that maybe the track length was reported wrong. This wold make it possible to be more than what Dragster is. If not, then I don't know how you go higher than Dragster with a shorter amount of track, considering that people have already seen the launch track sections and it appears there is the same amount of launch track as Dragster. Personally, I can't wait to see what exactly the announcement will be. It's also been speculated that it may go over 500ft.
  3. Correct PKIpunk! Whatever the reason, it's retarded. You're the only fool I see on these boards.
  4. Personally, I have never had a problem with either employees, but my experience has been that the Cedar Point Employess are friendlier. But, after this year, I'm seeing much improvement at PKI and like I said in my last post, I have heard lots of negativity about CP employees.
  5. How did you enjoy Talon, Steel Force and the others at Dorney? I am thinking about a trip there next year especially now that they are adding Hydra: The Revenge.
  6. Looks to me like a clone of TTD, except the invitation makes it appear as if it will launch left to right like Xcelerator. Which, might mean that you will take that twist on the way up instead of the way down. I for one, am guessing that improvements in the design have been made since TTD. Also, some of the problems that TTD has had lies with Cedar Point. Example: A cooling system for the cable. Hopefully, Six Flags will be able to keep it running more, but I doubt it. They can't seem to keep the ones they already have open. Yes, they will be spending all kinds of money on this one, but there will still be plenty of money to make other improvements.
  7. Nugbos, shorten your reply. That is a waste of space. Personally, I think they should have installed something more out and back like Timbers or something like Raven. But, I also don't believe that SOB was a waste of money either.
  8. "We had some problems at Cedar Point with the employees." I've heard this on more than one ocassion this year. It seems that their egos are getting too big. Apparently, the employees are starting to believe the hype that they are some of the best and it has gone straight to their heads. And, I agree with teenageninja that PKI needs some cool smaller flats like Chaos at CP. This is one of the better flats out there IMO. I love getting the tubs to flip, it's so easy to do.
  9. I'll go along with what the Snapper said. CP's coasters are a lot smoother than PKI's. They also have a better selection except for the woodies. CP needs a really good wood coaster. To me, that and some better flats would put them over the top.
  10. Who is this NUGBOS? Sounds like it is backwards...SOBGUN which would be Steve. Is that whom it is? I could be totally off base, but thought I would try my detective skills. Anyway, I agree that there have been way too many "What is your favorite _____ at PKI?"
  11. It's not that bad of a thread. I would say B&M inverted instead of flyer. There's just not much to be done with the flyers, element-wise. I would like to see a hearline twist over a midway somewhere. I would also want an original layout.
  12. The exaggerated death stories. Yes, there have been deaths, but I've heard rumors of other deaths that did not happen like the supposed death on The Bat. Also, they are removing the Eiffel Tower and will be replcaing it with a huge Jeffrey Siebert statue so all can worship him properly. They will be able to utilize the new elevators.
  13. Are you serious!!! Surely you have a pic of the shovel!
  14. No, you are not the only one old enough to remember the PKI of the past. It was much cleaner and nicer with a better mix of coasters, flats, water rides, and family rides. Paramount is coming along with what they are doing, but they wasted many years with the upkeep of the park.
  15. I don't live close, so that's why I love LaRosa's Pizza. When I was first going to King's Island, my family usted to hit up the LaRosa's pizza firt thing when we got there. Still one of my fondest memories of the early KI (Pre-Paramount). Although, on my last trip, I got some popcorn chicken at the Potato Works that was pretty good. Most of the time, I like to get a waffle cone with soft serve vanilla. And, I just can't leave without a bag of cotton candy.
  16. You know Punk, gotta agree with you a little on that one! It seems there is a lot of up and down movement (no pun intended) with the cars whereas SOB's cars shuffle too much from side to side. If you had better trains on SOB, it would probably be a better ride.
  17. Acutally, that story your friend told is a combination of stories concerning PKI. 1) A drunk woman passed out and slid out of the restraints on Flight Commander and fell to her death. 2) A man reached his hand into a pond (or something like that) and one of the lights was unsheilded and began to electrocute him. I think an employee and security guard tried to help him and were consequently electrocuted themselves. They did manage to save the guy though. Anyone, correct me if I am wrong as the details are a bit fuzzy to me.
  18. I hear ya athf_S3. I never really paid any attention to the time as much as it is just a pleasant site to look at. I also have to go with gabelogan99 that Son of Beast is a great ride. I wouldn't quit going to the park if they removed it, but I would be disappointed. As a matter of fact, PKI would really have to do something extreme for me not to go there any more. It would have to be a better reason than the floral clock or the antique cars being removed or doing away with the campground. I could think of worse things they could do.
  19. "Mean Streak(if you have ridden this, you probably know why I hate it.) " Nope, sure don't. I like the Mean Streak. I also like the Gemini racing coasters. Not only is there great headchoppers, but the airtime is some of the best that I have experienced. As far as MF goes, I only remember airtime twice...on the two hills going to and coming from MF island. I don't think that it has a lot of great airtime. Back to the topic, I agree with fryler, that it would not be cost effective to rebuild The Vortex. Too much money when you could build a new one for about the same price.
  20. Sounds pretty intense! Finally, Vu is running. Good for them!
  21. I would try it. Actually, it's for difficult guests. Ride-ops and employees are encouraged to push anyone off the tower that is a real pain.
  22. Good question. I'm sure they can replace parts of the track, but I'm not sure about the supports. Inversions aren't the in thing? Are you sure? What about B&M inverts? Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm is going up. I think maybe you are noticing less looping coasters due to Arrow no longer being here. There's also the standing coasters with loops and inversions not to mention B&M hyper/looping coasters.
  23. Sounds like you had fun. I am planning on visiting some new parks myself next year. So, is DejaVu a lot taller than Face/Off? I don't know the stats or anything. I've been wanting to try a B&M flyer myslelf. They look pretty fun.
