I think what Tanner is trying to say is that PKI has good ride ops, while CP has great ride ops. I have noticed this too. There is much more enthusiasm from CP ride ops. The funniest op I ran into last year was the op doing the spiel for the Cedar Creek Mine Ride. He said very sarcastically, "Welcome to the Cedar Creek Mine Ride. We are going to take you up and drop you forty feet...not once, but twice." He was cracking me up.

Actually, it's not all that fresh. I heard about the B&M dive machine months ago. Probably here.

No sparks on my visit either. I think TR is intense enough, it's just that the Giant Top Spin was meant to be a vehicle to take riders to each scene If there's only one in the world, then we don't really know what it was meant to be. Honestly, if some other park buys one, it's not likely that it would be placed indoors. So, if TR:TR was a Giant Top Spin with no theming, then how exciting would it be in the open air? Can you say snoozarama?
-
They should just give them out deflated, that would solve everything.
-
I agree. The only thing I've ever left is on-ride photos. And, I figured no one would want to steal a picture with me in it. Although, I guess someone could steal it out of meanness.

it's a hard choice, but i have to say Shaggy, i mean he is best friends with a talking dog and eats like a pig and is still skinny Yeah, he looks like a heroin addict. I like Shaggy over Scooby. The main reason is Scooby Doo was made up from previous HB characters that were very similar. And, I'm pretty sure Shaggy is a stoner...the way he walks and talks screams "Dirty, Pot Smoking Hippie".
-
I just checked it and the pic is unchanged. What they really need is about two more and aim them at areas instead of specific attractions.
-
Yes, it's true about the spikes. It made me nervous the first time I saw it up close. But, then I remembered a coaster special that featured Superman: Ulimate Escape (Now Steel Venom at Geauga Lake) at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure and I think maybe a maintenance guy or some kind of engineer explained that the spike had to sway or it would break.

Maybe I haven't been on any other Giant Top Spins, but I have seen the smaller ones in action. There's not much difference in the way it operates other than size. And the smaller ones do a lot more, so there's no reason the larger model should be any different.

Why would they put a new flume ride in when they just removed one a few years back? I don't think the demand is there anymore for rides like Amazon Falls. I like Tanner's idea of a Giant Top Spin outdoors and see if anyone notices that there are two in the park.
-
I don't think it would take much to change the ride, just money, which they probably don't want to spend. I just don't think it does very much for a Giant Top Spin.
-
I wonder if a Huss Jump 2 would fit in the spot if they were to remove the one side of the 'Tiques? I would like to see one of those go in at PKI.
-
But, comparing Vortex to Top Gun is comparing apples to oranges (yeah, I know, cliche'). It is true. They are totally different experiences and Top Gun is a little newer so that factors in as well. I really don't know if anything will be removed after this season. Maybe the non-operating side of the Antique Cars. This would make sense, at least it would clean that ride up a little.

Here's another one. If anyone you know belongs to a credit union, a lot of the time they sell discounted tix to PKI or some amusement park. Try checking there if you know anybody. My brother got our tickets through his credit union and they were about $25.00. I also think that with those credit union tickets, you can get in the park after 5:00pm(starlight) the day before.

Corkscrew is short, but you have to keep in mind that it was built before The Vortex. It was one of the first coasters with three inversions. I kinda like the way you corkscrew over the midway. I don't care for Iron Dragon either. Mostly a boring coaster until the last 20 seconds. Dragster and Millennium are two of my favs there. Too bad you didn't get to ride Wicked Twister. Usually, there is only about a 30 minute wait for it. The back seat is by far my favorite. Geminii is a kick butt coaster too. The trains being that close just screams "rider participation". A shame about Magnum too. Even though it is a bit rougher than TTD or MF, it is an awesome ride. Which side of the Power Tower did you ride? The launch up or down? The do kinda lack in the flat rides. It's not the number of flats they have, just the quality. And, I think if I were a kid, I would have much more fun at PKI's Nick and Hanna lands. The real shock is that you didn't ride Raptor. This coaster is still rated in the top ten steel category. PKI could definitely benefit from a B&M inverted. One can dream...

If not a coaster, then a Huss Jump 2.

I can answer this for you. Top Gun is considered a suspended coaster, non-looping. Vekoma coasters like Face/Off are considered suspended looping coasters.

I think you are not reading my posts. I am not complaining about the metal detectors or having to pass through them. Please read carefully. Read it over and over if you have to...just read it. The world is not becoming a more dangerous place to live in either. You are just buying into the hype that the media outlets produce on a daily basis. I would suggest you rent Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine. It shows just how paranoid America is compared to the rest of the world. It also shows that in places such as Canada, they don't even lock their front doors. Even those whom had been robbed before. There was a city in Canada that had only one gun death over a year's time. And, to add to that, the guy was from Michigan, not even Canada. You can't use Iraq as a model of what the world has become. Not a lot of nations are in this kind of situation. And yeah, I heard about the "alleged" plot against a mall in Columbus. Not sure if I buy that one either. And don't say because the government says so, it's true. They have a bad history of lying or misleading us. Perfect case example...George Bush lying about WMD and invading Iraq. Granted, Saddam Hussein is a dangerous person and needed to be dealt with, but you just can't go in and do things the way we did. This has all been a way to distract us from what was really going on. Bush wanted revenge on Hussein for threatening to kill his father. It's a well known fact that Bush, Cheney, and many others were already planning to invade Iraq before he was even elected. It's disgusting how he mislead the American public to further his own agenda. We should all be ashamed. And, next November, I plan on doing something about it...Voting.

I was just wondering if the FOF's, RRR's and Ricochets are clones of one another. I think this has been discussed before, but I can't remember. I would like to visit PKD and PC in the next two years. I was just wondering for my track record. No, I don't brag about my record, it's just for personal tallies.

6/18/04... the day Tomb Raider broke down.
PKI Homey replied to Beastly Terror Rider's topic in Trip Reports
Sorry, gotta disagree. For the money spent on Tomb Raider, the program should be a hell of a lot longer. I can't even agree that it is the best flat ride out there, especially with Delirium in the same park. Tomb Raider is not much more than a nice collection of movie props. -
Terrorists are not likely to attack an amusement park. Yes, it would kill many people all at the same time, but not that many. Terrorists are interested in taking out American Icons like the Whitehouse, or the Pentagon, or the Twin Towers(yes, I know, already done. Just making an example). Anyway, other likely targets will be more government buildings or some place that produces large amounts of dangerous chemicals that when hit, would spread chemicals to surrounding areas either injuring or killing thousands. Oh yeah, if forgot. I was not complaining about the metal detectors. I was just trying to make a point about how effective they really are.
-
The real question is, does it truly make anyone safer. I hardly think so. Compare PKI incidents to those who do not have metal detectors and you will see what I am talking about. There are no more incidents at parks without metal detectors as there are with the detectors. So, isn't it really pointless? Good question about the insulin needles, though. I would think that PKI would allow this. But, then again, what's to stop a crazy diabetic from stabbing someone with one of these. Is there any way you could leave the insulin in a cooler in your car? Just a thought.
-
It's called a Starlight Ticket and I thought that it began at 4pm, but I could be wrong. You may want to call their park operations to find out for sure.
-
Same here. When I rode it on 6/7, the lights went off completely.

I don't get people who don't see a good ride when it's right in front of them... You mean Days of Thunder? It is a decent ride, but not great. I said I would have liked to have seen it again, but AT is not one of the can't miss attractions at PKI. They could easily tear it down and not be missed. Ok, so the kids would be upset over Spongebob, but they could put in another attraction that is themed to Spongebob.
