    2005 Poll

PKI Punk, you did not offend me, but I do like SOB. Sure, sometimes it can be an SOB, but the roughness does not bother me any more than The Beast. I think the General Public is getting spoiled by Intamin and B&M with their smooth coasters. If in fact we are getting the Addams Family coaster, then my vote has to go to none of the above because there is no vertical drop coaster listed.
  2. No Vekoma please. Although Face/Off and Rugrats are the only two I've been on, I've heard that the SLC's are very rough. Have you ever noticed that there are no Vekomas at Cedar Point? Not one. This says something about what CP thinks of Vekoma. I don't know...maybe they are inexpensive? Relatively speaking that is.
  3. Exactly, We have Top Gun (SLC Vekoma) here which is obviously themed to the movie. The theming really is only used in the queue line and while it may be neat for the first time it loses it's appeal. I expect the new coaster to do the same. Good point. But, from what I understand the Borg Assimilator coaster at Carowinds utilizes the theming very well. Therefore, it can be done correctly.
  4. Hmmm, I thought this was about real flashing. Go fig. Anyway, I could see the problem in having the lights flash with the epilepsy problem. They would have to put the same warnings as they do with video games. Personally, I think it should remain as dark as possible. It is disorienting with lights out.
  5. Wow Tucker's was open? They do have some of the best food in the park, but 5 dollars is a bit much. Five dollars a bit much? Have you been going to PKI for very long? The food has always been expensive. Last year at Cedar Point, I ate at a 50's themed burger stand which cost nearly $13.00 for a burger, fries, and a drink. This is normal. The next day I ate at TGI Friday's located in my hotel and ate for about $10.00 and the food was ten times better.
  6. Be a enthusist and tape it off the tv. What if you missed the show and didn't tape it. Then what?
  7. okay I am a newbie why is it and accomplishment to have 1000 posts? All that shows to me is that you spend way too much time on the computer. Let's all be nice to the newbie. And, I couldn't agree more. I'm no where near that amount.
  8. I think you are just supposed to use your imagination. Does anyone do this any more? . I wish I could find this Beast T-Shirt I used to have when I was a kid. It had The Beast Claws and they were puffy and stood out from the shirt. Anyone know where I can find one? I've tried ebay with no luck.

However, after the problems the park had with Son of Beast, IU highly doubt that we`ll see a prototype ride from a manufacturer, such as a possible floorless from arrow. Floorles coasters are not a prototype. They are a proven coaster. Yes, I understand it would be a first for S&S/Arrow, but it is definitely not a prototype. S&S/Arrow would just be using the existing technology. A flyer would be nice since I don't think there are any in the Midwest (please correct me if I am wrong, though). Ok, I will. It's called X-Flight and is located at Geauga Lake.
  10. It's too bad that they are not known for selling videos about their park. This is the greatest way of self-promotion. I mean, up at Cedar Point, you can buy the video shown on the Discovery Channel called the World's Largest Amusement Park. I have a copy and have watched it several times. I'm not bored of it yet.
  11. I agree with Deliriumdreamer that AE belongs in Rivertown. It would fit in both with Tomb Raider and The Beast.

    2005 Poll

Nah, I have to disagree. Money is not the only limitation. How about G forces that people can withstand? Space can be an issue. Ok, I have to retract my last post because I have found out that there is another company that makes a vertical drop coaster. The last was referring to a B&M. This is providing PKI goes with that company. Something about a Euro Fighter. I'll post a link if someone asks.
  13. Yes, Rugrats Runaway Reptar does have a maximum height restriction. Even though I was not too tall according to the restriction, my feet touched the metal below me on the lift hill. This was not cool. According to the PKI web site, to ride Reptar you must be at least 44" (approx. 3'6") and less than 76" (approx. 6'3").
  14. I don`t think Adventure Express is going anywhere. It is still one of the highest capacity rides in the park It has high capacity, but I hardly ever see anyone in line for it or riding it. I've only heard of it being down once this year. (TR:TR) By the way, this year(season) just began. You can't say it's reliable this year when it's this early. If I had to pick an attraction, I would say Congo Falls. What a waste!
  15. I'd make Action Zone more shady. How? No idea. Ever been to Cedar Point? They have great shaded lines on Raptor, Millennium Force and I'm sure there are others. Not only that, they have the misting fans. Why can't PKI install either one of these in AZ? Or anywhere else for that matter?
  16. If PKI would do this, how many this and that groups will come out of the woodworks not wanting to pay full price to get in? Don't know if you read this or not, but Cedar Point dropped their senior discounts. Others may follow.
  17. I would like to purhcase this video as well. Maybe if PKI gets many requests, they will sell the video at a later date. So, all people interested in buying this video, I would suggest calling PKI and making a formal request. Although, I'm not sure what department you would talk to.
  18. I voted for The Beast. It has drawn a lot more crowds over the years then FOF ever thought about. Not to say that I don't like FOF, but why would you put such a short coaster as your flagship coaster?
  19. Actually, beastdude, your original question was interesting. I'm not sure if PKI transplants any trees from that area to be used somewhere else in the park.
  20. Yeah, I don't believe PKI will ruin itself by relying on cheap "Hollywood" gimmicks. Just because they are trying to become more of a theme park does not mean they will completely destroy the image that the park already has. Everything in the park does not have to become "Hollywood-ized" to fit in. Next thing you'll tell me is that they are going to add neon signs and a casino in there. I just don't believe it.
  21. Who's Upset? You're reading into it what you want. And I specicically stated that I knew it was sarcasm. "I'm worried about the impact this highly rated show will have on the public, especially after Saturday's fatal accident at SFNE." So actually the idea, the very notion that people will look down on PKI was at least hinted at. How so?
  22. 311 at Carowinds? Aaron, where are you? Guess you might try to squeeze a trip in to Carowinds?
  23. I taped CSI and just got finished watching it. Very awesome! Now, all of you who said the show would be bad publicity for a place like PKI, would you like your crow deep-fried or roasted? I know that this was sarcasm, but in the 3 page CSI thread, no one makes mention of this being bad publicity for PKI. Especially, since the coaster in question was none from PKI nor was the park implied to be PKI. Many people have stated that in light of recent incidents, the show's timing was not good, nothing else. So, how do you like your Crow? (sarcasm)
  24. Use them how?
  25. I vote none of the above. I don't think any of the mentioned rides are gonna regain popularity.
