  1. I was not aware that Huss and Arrow were together at one time. This is an interesting fact. I can tell you that The Bat was an awesome coaster. It was a real shame that it had so many problems. I always thought that The Bat themed trains were cool. I love the pic they have of the trains at rcdb.com.
  2. The Champion? WTF were they thinking on that one? Thank God somebody came up with The Beast name.
  3. Looks to me that there isn't much difference other than the seats face inward on the one at PGA. Also, I believe that PKI's Delirium is bigger. Other than that, I believe it does basically the same thing...pendulum swing while the cars rotate.
  4. Funny thing is, when I rode The Vortex when it first opened, I couldn't believe how smooth it was. Now that Intamin and B&M are around, suddenly, all Arrow coasters are considered rough.
  5. I have said this many times before, but DC needs to do an entire special on PKI or at least Paramount Parks. I mean, Dollywood got an entire episode on it and there's not nearly as much to do. At least as far as rides go.
  6. You might be a coaster geek if you post to these web sites.
  7. I rode Der Spinnin' Keggers and it was a lot of fun. My uncle used to start spinning our keg before the ride even started. Then, we were usually the last ones off because we were still spinning.
  8. It is a fairly rough coaster if you compare it to Intamin or B&M. Otherwise, I don't think it is that rough at all. The only point I remember being jarred on is the little drop before the corkscrews. IMO, people are being spoiled by Intamin and B&M and expect every coaster they ride to be that smooth. I can't believe Vortex is 17 years old. It still gives great rides.
  9. You knew this was going to happen eventually. I'm sure Huss was not planning on keeping it exclusive to PKI. They just don't offer enough rides to theme parks to make something exclusive to that park for very long.
  10. Yeah, I loved that ride. When it reached top speed, a loud horn would sound off. If I remember correctly, it went pretty fast. Bayern Curve should never have been taken out, just like some of the other flats that were good and are gone. Another example, the Rotor. Great fun and doesn't take up hardly any space. I like the newer flat rides that are out there like TR:TR and Delirium, but these were classsics and didn't need to flip you upside down to get the thrill.
  11. Yeah, that would be pretty cool, Wildcat. Thanks for the suggestions.
  12. I used to have a felt pennant with The Bat, The Beast, The Screamin' Demon and I believe The Racers with the logos. Does anyone know where I could find this? I tried e-bay with no luck yet, but am still searching.
  13. I voted for in the rose bowl. Although anything with natural surroundings is cool.
  14. What happened to the one for Face/Off? I am sure glad that they brought back the FOF on-ride photo. I will definitely be getting one of those this year. By the way, how many people here collect the photos? I for one, have about a dozen or so of them from PKI and CP.
  15. Yeah, Ozzie could ride out on his 4-wheeler into a palm tree. Too bad The Bat is not there, it would be right up his alley.
  16. Yeah, I read that on screamscape as well. I can't believe they wasted their money on a Zamperla Flyer. It is the ugliest coaster I've ever seen, plus I've heard it gives terrible rides as well.
  17. Yeah, I would like to see Ozzfest there as well. But, I highly doubt it.
  18. I saw one on Raptor at CP where this guy was wearing flip flops. He had one in one hand and was pointing at the flip flop with the other hand. I thought that was pretty funny. Although, I don't really have any of myself that are goofy. By the way, I noticed two seasons ago that the On-Ride Photo for Flight of Fear was no longer there. Has it returned since? I really want a photo of that one.
  19. I wouldn't mind seeing a parade at PKI either. It would be a great way to get some use out of the old HB characters. I think after the Janet Jackson incident, she should be in the next "Got Milk?" commercial. They could even superimpose a milk mustache on Timberlake.
  20. Actually, I thought that it was a great coaster. Maybe it was not world class, but back then, no one really cared about that kind of thing. All that anyone cared about was whether or not it was fun, which it was.
  21. I agree Italian Chef. The Hannah-Barberra characters need to make a come back. Wasn't there also a Captain Caveman character at PKI? He was one of my favs. That and Scooby Doo.
  22. Sorry, I'm going to have to disagree with some peeps here. I don't think that SOB is much, if any, rougher than The Beast. I wouldn't consider it a terrain coaster either. It doesn't really utilize the terrain in the sense that The Beast does. Maybe I'm a masochist and just like to be beat up
  23. The terrain is probably my favorite thing about this coaster. That and the double helice through the tunnel at the end. When your out in those woods, it kind of seems like you may have left the park, since you can't really see anything else out there. I remember waiting four hours to ride that coaster. And, well worth it.
  24. I liked the concept for the Addams Family coaster ride as well. I think since maybe they aren't going to compete with the number or height of coasters, we'll see many more movie themed rides, which is ok with me. So long as they pick good movies to use. I kind of liked the Italian Job idea as well. It would be interesting to see how that one would pan out. Would it be inside a building or at least partly inside like the Addams Family one?
  25. Actually, I am a huge Disturbed fan and would like to see them at PKI as well. Maybe a little wishful thinking could help. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Does PKI put out a listing of the concerts that will be at Timberwolf before the season starts?
