FOFreak
I don't understand why people love Adventure Express so much? I personaly think that it is a relitively boring ride that does not provide any thrills at all. Anybody beg to differ?

Beg to differ? i do. it doesn't have to be big or tall to be fun. it is loaded with medium sized fun drops, quick turns, great scenery and awesome theming. i love the Adventure Express! Kman6
I like it..good smooth ride that the whole family can enjoy...all my friends like it too! A must ride every visit...plus hardly any lines
DropZone99
I love AE cause it's relaxing yet thrilling. Alot of turns are barley banked and very sharp, almost like a mouse coaster! It's not my favorite coaster at KI, but it's close.
KingCobra
It couldnt hurt if they kept their theaming working well, which the final tunnel/lift was better this year then in the past couple, but the unbanked turns to me flirt with the fun/painful line. and the end is really anti-climatic, much like ninja at SFMM. CoastersNSich
I like it..good smooth ride that the whole family can enjoy...all my friends like it too! A must ride every visit...plus hardly any lines I really like Adventure Express because it's got excitement without the lines and relatively low capacity of other KI steel coasters (Vortex is my current favorite, which can do a great job with capacity as well). Of course, KI is getting a people-eating steel coaster for 2009...
FOFreak
Ok, here's what I got: _____________________________________________________________________________ AE Pros: Great Theming Little Lines. AE Cons: Very, Very Little Thrill Painful Underbanked Turns _____________________________________________________________________________ In my opinion if you want a fun ride with little lines, if any at all, you should just walk down 5 feet over to To... I mean Flight Deck!

FOFreak
Ok, your experience is different from mine. But I have to wonder, were all of you sitting in the back or something because I was sitting in car 2 row 1.
Touchdown
Because its one of the best mine train rides in the country! Seriously, AE always is a near walk on, gives you all the hallmarks of a mine train: laterals, good pacing, disorientation. Its a fun ride, not a headliner but one that I have to ride every time I go to KI.
FOFreak
Disorientation? That sounds fun, but on AE its not disorienting? I know your tring to prove a point, but that's kind of stretchn' it!

Guest TombraiderTy
^The best? I wouldn't go that far... But it is an enjoyable ride that the whole family can experience together. It also has some great themeing. However, they need to keep this themeing up to date
FOFreak
Honestly, have you rode any of the other coasters by any chance? Flight of Fear, Beast, SOB, Vortex, Firehawk, Invertigo, even the Backlot Stunt Coaster is better! In my opinion of coarse. Answer this Vortexfan! If you had only 15 minutes left till' the park closes, and there was a 20 min. wait for AE (unimagianable I know) and a 5 min. Wait for Firehawk with a chance to ride another ride afterwards. Which one would you chose?

The Interpreter
Hmmm. I doubt there is a minetrain ride in the USA I have not ridden. And Adventure Express is tied for second best among them, in my humble opinion. It is a great ride..the things you don't like about it are the things I adore, the STRONG laterals, the speed, the intensity, The ONLY minetrain in the USA I prefer is Roadrunner Express at Fiesta Texas. If I had to choose a second between Runaway Mine Train at Six Flags Great Adventure and Adventure Express at Kings Island, I'd be hard put to make a choice...I adore them both in totally different ways. Just as I adore Firehawk, Flight of Fear and Adventure Express in totally different ways. In my humble opinion, any of the three of them is superior to any existing operational coaster at Kings Island, except, perhaps, Fairly Odd Coaster. And yes, I am serious. NOTE: I do NOT consider the Matterhorn at Disneyland a minetrain ride. If it is one, then that is by far my favorite minetrain ride. I consider it a highly themed steel coaster experience, not unlike Space Mountain in that regard.

The Racer in its original form, Scooby Doo (as FOC was known in those days) and, of course Bavarian Beetle were great thrills for a little kid growing up in the 70s. Especially since our family didn't have a lot of money and my sister and I collected Top Value stamps to get tickets for one or two visits a year. I remember going to the grocery store with my parents and looking for those stamps that people had dropped or thrown away while our parents shopped. All so we could paste them in the books and trade them in for KI tickets.

TOPGUN1993
Sure AE isn't the most "Thrilling" ride at the park but it sure is one of the must "Fun" and enjoyable rides there... thats why I rate it so high. My KI top 5 is... #1 Red Racer #2 Adventure Express #3 Firehawk #4 Son of Beast #5 Vortex
BoddaH1994
^ I couldn't agree with you more. AE is a guaranteed good time. If I wanted a thrilling experience, I'd ride Drop Zone or something...
Browntggrr
It'a a fun little ride. After riding Cedar Creek MIne Ride, I have a much greater respect for AE. It usually goes the way of respecting your elders. In this case, CCMR is pushing 40, whereas AE is not even 20 yet. Can the two coasters be equally compared given the age difference?
The Interpreter
And by the same token, Roadrunner Express at Fiesta Texas, of which I spoke so highly, is only 11....yet many can and do compare the Coney Island Cyclone to newer woodies. What's age got to do with it? I'd gladly take an opportunity to ride an old Prior & Church or Traver woodie, even if it meant I had to give up an opportunity to ride an unspecified Gravity Group, S & S, INTAMIN or GCII woodie, wouldn't you? I don't ride rides so much for the scenery as much as the G's I am somewhat of a blindman when it comes to rides. My KI top ten is... #1 Flight of Fear #2 Vortex #3 Firehawk #4 Son of Beast #5 Beast #6 Blue Racer #7 Red Racer #8 Flight Deck #9 Adventure Express #10 Invertigo
The Interpreter
...which must help tremendously with Voyage. FOFreak
Terpy, Voyage is my favorite coaster ever, not just wood, but of any kind. But I don't understand how you know that or how this refers to anything were talking about at the moment? Unless your talking about my signature or where I live? FOFreak, who is very confused about what Terpy is talking about
