  1. For reference, I'm 6'2" 285 lbs. KI rides I know I don't fit on: FoF and Diamondback. I rode Drop Tower last year, but the fit was so tight that I could barely breath. I use the big boy seats (red? belts) on Banshee with no issue. Racer/Beast are snug on my hips, but the restraint is fine. I also ride Vortex, The Bat, and Backlot Stunt Coaster without issue. I went to CP a few weeks ago and here was my experience. Wicked Twister - No way. Tightest restraints in the park. Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster - Belt on test seat didn't reach, so I didn't try to board. Gatekeeper - Only fit the larger seats (Row 4 I think it was) Valravan - Had to sit in the seats with Red belts (2 per row) Raptor and Rougarou - I barely fit in the normal seats, but seats with 2 belts were a more comfortable fit. Maverick - I don't remember needing a special seat in these. Definitely rode it MANY MANY times. Magnum and Gemini - No problem with belts/harnesses on these similar trains. Corkscrew - OTSR was tight on the top of my shoulders, but I was OK to ride. Blue streak - Didn't try, no interest. Kids reported this ride was SUPER ROUGH. Cedar Creek Mine Ride - I have trouble with this one due to long legs, so I didn't try. As far as I remember, there was a test seat located at the entrance to nearly every rollercoaster. Exceptions being Mine Ride, Blue Streak, Corscrew, Gemini and Magnum. You shouldn't have any trouble with those though.
  2. Was at CP a few weeks ago and ended up doing Slingshot with the kids. i got a kick out of the ride op there. Think combined we did 3 rides. Unfortunately, I don't remember what they said to me when I was launched, but the kids got: "So do you want me to countdown, or do you just want me to say..." -LAUNCHED "You guys are ready to go in 3... 2" -LAUNCHED I talked to the OP after I heard him and he said he had a whole heap of 'em for unsuspecting guests. He was definitely the right guy for the job!
  3. Just came back from a trip to CP. Bought my platinum passes with meal plans and the disposable cup drink plan. I had one heckuva a time with some employees understanding the drink plan on my passes. We had one person tell us we didn't have drink plans and needed to see guest services, had several people see "VOUCHER" on their register and asked if I wanted disposable cups or souvenir bottles, and other places in the park scanned and gave me a cup without hesitation. I think it was partially a training issue with some employees, and partially the fact that some of their registers are archaic and display information in a difficult to understand format. We tried to clear it up at Guest Services there (awesome people working at Guest Services there, BTW), but continued to have varied results at different food/drink stands. I will say, even the stands where they gave us trouble, in the end we always got the drinks we were expecting, so guess I shouldn't be too harsh on the employees. On the other hand, my Dad has a souvenir bottle and had zero issues getting it refilled (other than forgetting it when coming into the park!)
  4. Went to KI yesterday (4/29). It was a pretty busy day (I usually only go on weekdays, avoiding crowds) and we had quite a few meals (family of 6 so we spread them out a bit). We have 5 meal plans for 6 of us because my kids are so dang picky and all want something different! Red's Grille - (11:30am) - Went in by myself as there was zero line. Got a grilled chicken sandwich with chips (Fries are a $2 upgrade, really?). Waited maybe 5 minutes for my food, not terrible. Nobody ever came to check on me other than dropping off my food. I chose not to tip since no service was provided. It was a nice way to relax while my family was in line for Mystic Timbers. Sandwich was pretty good (although no tomatoes.. thought the menu said tomatoes were included. I could be wrong). Bun was really hearty, I liked it. Chips were thick and either overdone or underdone. Very few were done just right. (Meal options were Chicken Fingers, Cheeseburger, or Grilled Chicken Sandwich all with Saratoga Chips) Rivertown LaRosa (12:30pm) - Got pizza for the kids. It was pretty quick to get in and get out. Pizza was pretty standard fair, not right out of the oven, but still OK. Not much to say about this really. (Meal options were 2 Pizza slices w/ 2 breadsticks, Antipasto salad, and Jojo salad. No idea what the salads were made of, the screens are all washed out and images are so poor I couldn't make out details) Subway (3:30pm) - Got subway for myself and for the wife. Line was pretty long but we moved pretty quickly through it. Surprised how limited their choices are but they had everything I like so it worked out. No toasting of the subs, but other than that it's like any other Subway I've ever had. (Meal options were 6 inch sub and bag of chips) Coney Mall Skyline (4:30pm) - New flow setup is WAY better than before. Ordering is done via Touchscreen (like the Jukebox Diner), then paid at registers, then drink stations, then pickup, all in a line. Huge improvement from before. Our order was ready for pickup as we arrived at the pickup window. Good job Skyline employees! Only complaints was that we forgot to ask for ketchup and it took a while to get someones attention to get some. (Meal options - I didn't happen to see this myself so I can't say). Hope the info helps someone! I get my value easily out of the meal plans, but I know for others they aren't ideal. I wish the service was a little better, but for the value I get from them I can't really complain.
  5. I'm 6'2" and 285. I have 4 kids, 3 of whom are young, short, and skinny. We ride Surf Dog every time we go to KI. The form of the seat is a little uncomfortable for my posterior (it's a shallow depression with hard edges), but I technically fit. The lap bar rests on my thighs and leaves my poor kids with a LOT of open space. As you said though, it's not really an airtime/floaty ride so it really isn't a problem. The kids don't really mind, they love riding rides with the whole family and Surf Dog is definitely a favorite!
  6. I dunno. I'm 6'2" and 285 and I was able to ride Drop Tower last year, but took a burly operator to get me locked in. The guy next to me was about the same build and he needed the same assistance. Neither of us could breathe more than 25% lunch capacity maybe the whole ride. I was definitely glad to get to ride it, but even more glad to get the restraint released so I could breathe again. I probably won't be trying that again until I drop some weight! I really hope I can ride MT this year. Very excited about it! For reference, I do fit on the XL seats of Banshee without much trouble, but had walks of shame for FoF and Diamondback this year. The new belt buckles on Vortex were a bit of a surprise. I barely get those latched now!
  7. These are most definitely unique. They will refuse a refill within 5 minutes of your last refill. I found this out in a really annoying visit. I went to the Refill station across from the burrito shack on a REALLY hot day. They scan your cup, then you wait to use the self service mix-a-drink stations. They were all out of ice. I wanted ice so I left and went to the burrito shack (which was empty) to use their drink machine (which had ice). They scanned my cup and told me I couldn't get a refill because I had just used the cup in the last 5 minutes. GUH. I begrudgingly complained, stood there for another 2 minutes, and then filled my cup with Ice. GRRRR.
  8. Went with the family on Saturday Oct 8. Weather was beautiful, albeit a bit windy. WindSeeker and Drop Zone were closed. Lines in the early part of the day were tolerable. Diamondback - 15 mins Beast - <5 mins Vortex - <5 mins most of the normal rides were 1-2 cycle waits. However, by 4pm or so lines started getting considerably longer. By 7pm it was too much for us and we left. FoF - reported 45 mins, but the queues were 100% full, so doubtful. Firehawk - 45 mins Bat - 35 mins Banshee - 50 mins Invertigo - 40 mins Adventure Express extended out of the queue lines. Family decided it wasn't worth the wait. We were considering checking out a few of the haunts this year, but by the time they opened there were hundreds of people in lines for each. Food lines were also longer than I've ever seen them. We ended up leaving around 7pm and eating outside of the park. Just too many people all around. We still got in a lot of rides for the day by arriving at 10am, but people definitely flooded in more and more as the evening got closer.
