I've seen numerous people say that CF is short changing KI as yo not upstage CP. I can't fathom a world where a company would do this. CF would honestly want every property to do well. KI is already one of the better performing parks. Despite the markets, CW and carowinds didnt perform that well pre CF in comparison. The investments made have been great for those parks. Hopefully they will spread some love to the smaller properties now such as Dorney, MiA WoF etc As for not getting another Fury. I for one am glad. I applaud CF for not cloning every ride in every park. I think each park being diffrent is great. Not to mention sells more platinum passes. IMO, that is six flags weak point as was paramount's when they had the parks. Now that is off my chest, back to 2020. I still think we will eventually see an expansion to x-base. I'm not sure it's in line for 2020 but hopefully when it happens it includes a new dark ride.

It would absoluetly need fire supression to meet Ohio Fire Code. At work right now so I can't vote the exact O.R.C section. But yes, all haunted attractions , permanent or temporary are required to have a fire suppression system in place I would love a new dark ride.

Thanks for replying. I wasn't sure what the footing elevations were. My confusion is no more. Lol Maybe they're planning on 10 foot high footings . Lol
-
That's where my confusion came from. I either misread or misunderstood how people came up with the numbers. I thought people were going from the station elevation to the crest of the lift. But which footer is everyone using for the measurements. There doesn't appear to be a footer directly under the crest.
-
What you said was pretty much what I gathered from other posts. I was just confused. I thought the Crest of the lift was around the area that the ravine starts down. If that it's the case, 15 foot could make this over 300 feet. But I may be wrong
-
I may have missed something as fast as this is moving but, the 286' was figured from the high spot of the lift to the station. Isn't the ground under that part of the lift lower than the station? Guess I'm trying to ask if the 286 is from peak to station or peak to ground directly under peak?

I guess I'm the sole enthusiast on the planet that could care less about stats. MT is my no 2 wooden coaster (The Beast gets the top spot for nostalgic reasons alone, it was my first coaster.) We all can agree that the stats for Mystic are less than exciting. Still an amazing ride. When CP opened Mean Streak, it was the tallest, fastest wooden coaster on the planet. No where near the ride that Mystic is. So bigger isn't always better. This could quite possibly be the best steel coaster on the planet. We won't know untill we ride it. I will still purchase passes next year. I will still visit the park. I will be in line for the opening of this coaster. If it sucks, probably won't ride again. Just won't know till I pull down the restraint and physically ride. No announcement, POV or stat sheet will sway me one way or the other untill then Sorry for the long post. Lol

I find it funny all the comments saying how we, the guests, showed feel lucky that CF/KI is spending all this money. Like they are letting everyone in and feeding us free of charge I am happy for a new coaster but am choosing to withhold judgment till I ride it.

From the look of the prints, definately looks like a military/aviation theme. Station looks like it's going to be a hanger theme.

And now, there is legitimacy. lol

I think everyone is thinking using CAD is the equivalently oas difficult as advanced thermo dynamics, rocket science and experimental physics combined. This is most definately not the case. Everyone is reading entirely too much into the details of this "leaked" layout. Not real difficult to accomplish. Definately not difficult if you were to have the original files. As for trolling a single message board...Leak is all over the internet, not just KIC. People have have never heard of this board have seen and discussed the leak.
-
Enough about leaked layouts and blueprints. I think that honestly all we know from them is we still know nothing. Lol I remember reading somewhere that CF was going ti be focusing more on family experiences and less on thrill rides. What does everyone think of an X- Base expansion that could include maybe a new flat ride or two along with a new dark ride. I'm not saying for 2020 but over the next few years or so. I think a new dark ride could really enhance the whole X-Base area. Maybe an alien invasion shooter theme. Let's face it, as much fun as I have with my family oh Boo Blasters, it's a little dated.
-
The second document is what I was referring to. The city plans are absoluetly legit. The "leaked" complete layout, in my opinion, leaves a lot of doubts as to its legitimacy that I feel will only be addressed once we get an announcement from the park.
-
I'm sure Cedar Fair has a few people on payroll that could pull it off as well. Lol
-
Anybody with minimal training/experience could have done that layout. Especially if it was "leaked" by the park. They would have access to the master CAD files and knocked that out in no time. Like I've said before, not saying the layout IS fake. I just am not 100& sure it's real. At any rate, can't wait to ride whatever the creative minds of Cedar Fair/B&M come up with. Haven't really let us down yet.
-
Again, I'm not saying one way or the other. I'm personally still on the fence as to the validity. But consider this option. Would it be. Completely out of the realm of possibility for to think that a group of college students could have faked them as a joke. Engineering students would have access to CAD and the knowledge to pull this off. I honestly don't think this would be as hard as some think. People can go to great lengths to troll others. Look at some of the more elaborate Bigfoot hoaxes over the years. As for the footer lining up (between "leak" and blueprints), these plans would have been available before they were posted on here. Not saying that is the case here, just weighing all the options.
-
Right, I almost kinda thunk there is too much detail included. I'm not sure that all the detail would be needed. (I really don't remember too much great my drafting classes 22 yrs ago... lol.) If ir isn't needed, what would an architect take the time to include so much detail. But, time will tell. Still think regardless, this ride will rock.

Doing a little digging onto the interwebs and found an image of KMAA on the construction company's website (company that built the ride) sorry I didnt get it to post here, phone went haywire. But seeing that caused a few questions in my head. 1. Could a civil site drawing of KMAA be the source of our "leaked" giga layout. Things looked pretty darn similar. I mean the image only showed back to Racer, but I'm almost certain other images would show everything. 2. Wouldn't that image, if it exists, be available in the Mason City archives. Not saying my theory is correct. Just trying to look at all aspects. The real plans were approved over a week before they showed up on here. That would be plenty of time to cobble together something believable imo. Just my 2 cents. That said, can't wait to see what the heck this thing acutally is. Lol

Armchair engineers. Lol

Not saying that it was a teaser but, that image was edited by the park. (The x Base book, etc.)
-
I guess what I'm trying to say is this. What if no one actually was risking their career. What if this was meant to be "leaked" to get people talking. Could this have been the plan all along by marketing. Let's "leak" this pseudo boring layout to get people talking and mad that it's not the biggest baddest giga on the planet. Then when the alignment comes, we'll blow their minds. Many have already conceded that lawsuit is gospel and for sure what is coming. Maybe this is the plan. I don't know for sure. Maybe like a reverse of Mystic's shed... instead of causing overhype, we'll cause underhype... lol At any rate, can't wait to see the finished product.
-
I could honestly see this being a red herring. I mean if it is, it's doing its job...people are talking. Again, still not sure. Those type of maps could possibly be from the planning commission through a previous project and a little cut and paste...vola... lol. IDK though, my brain hurts.
-
I'm on the fence. Lol

Took a while but finally caught up. Found the leaked map on twitter. Leads me to say this. Not 100%sure it's legit. In all honesty, someone could have probably knocked that ot in no time with photoshop. If they managed to get a hold of a previous drawing. The version I saw was pretty low res so can't say for sure it was fake or real. I really can't see why anyone would risk breaking a NDA without having sonething to gain from it. Huge risk with little reward just doesn't make sense to me at least. who knows. Guess time will tell. Just that a lot about that leak doesn't add up (timing, it's origin, etc)
-
I might not be 100% correct (so appologies upfront if so) but all aspects of planning and permit applications are public record and are subject to be released upon request I do believe that those are, however, able to be sealed for a to be determined period if an applicant can prove that releasing them would be detrimental to their business or release "trade secrets" etc. This is most likely the case with KI. They can argue that a competitor could get these plans and build whatever first. The footer plan for Mystic Timbers could had no statistics and could have been for a go cart track or anything. That's probably why it was available. Sort of a teaser knowing it would be released and speculation would go wild. Just my opinion though on that.
