I'm sorry but the legacy of Son of Beast will never die. No matter how much you or anyone else wants it to. It was here and it will forever be part of King's Islands history. Just like The Bat, Lion Country, King Cobra, etc.......
-
I personally thought Son of Beast was awesome to look at. It had an awesome structure.
-
I can see it now.... Today we finally lay to rest the unloved son."Then all of a sudden we start to hear screams from behind the fence". A Banshee has risen from the site of the former son. Now she will remain here forever to haunt the area.

This announcement is shaping up to be quite the event. I'm glad I got my boss to switch my days off this week. This might be one you don't want to miss.
-
I'll be following both KI and KIC's twitter pages on the 8th. I'll also be making my own tweets around 2PM up until the announcement.

What Wooden coaster is or was your favorite?
UnrealNightmare replied to CP&LERR Fan's topic in KI Polls
Here's another poll I'll be alone on. My favorite woodie is Hades. -
I'm more interested in the new attraction gift items then anything else.
-
Sorry for the double post but I haven't seen this stated here yet. Have you guys noticed they are offering a VIP announcement experience on the KI ticket page. For $149.99 you do get quite a bit.

I highly doubt it. If this layout is correct it would have gone straight through the lift hill and into the second helix. That's a lot of wood and support structure to remove if they were to coexist. I just don't see that happening.

I could just be hungover, but this thread is really starting to make my head spin.

Diamondback construction started around the same time as this project did. I have pics from opening day in 2008 with lots of work going on in the old swan lake area.
-
I think the other thing we aren't considering is how high up off the ground will the ride actually start. If the station is 25ft off the ground to begin with we could very well be looking at a 200'+ lift hill. Does anyone know the height of Talon's station? I know it's pretty high up.

Yeah I was wondering if those were support beams (figured they were). I was wondering why they were black, but was thinking maybe, like the track, they haven't been finished yet? Though if they are unfinished they need to finish soon b/c they'll be going in I'm guessing starting at the end of the month, as soon as daily operation is done for the season and they go back to weekends. I think you're confused about what I'm talking about. Here this should help.
-
Does anyone else see a black piece of track back there behind those trucks? I think our colors could be black and blue.
-
Hey at least he wasn't drinking and driving.
-
Lol well you get my point.
-
And Kings Island does not have three of the same coasters. They all might have the same concept of hanging below the track but all three of them give very different ride experiences.
-
This is a good reason to build an invert. Since most major parks already have one. It might hold the record for a very long time. I can see Gatekeeper's records falling in the very near future. They could also be preparing that land for a new maintenance road. Or a new maintenance building, could be themeing it could be anything really.
-
Did anyone get any good pictures of the other three gravestones today? I've heard there are 6 total.
-
I didn't think Stengel Dives were inversions.
-
Blame it on the Banshee!
-
I for one think this is the coolest part of the announcement! I also think it's funny the comments the picture is getting on FaceBook. They have no idea!
-
And Suhr is the last name of one of our awesome mods! Ryan.
-
Yes it does and what it says translates toooooooo "The quiet are guilty"............................
-
Lol look at the names on them.
