  1. It's 2012 and just under four more months until Kings Island opens its doors for its 40th season. Like last year's topic, each day I will try my best to post a "vintage" Kings Island photo from my massive collection of media I've gathered over the years through personal collections and online discoveries. You're likely to see some of your photos, so don't be surprised. Anything goes. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23316&hl=%2Bflashback+%2Bopening&fromsearch=1'>http://www.KICentral...ng&fromsearch=1 2011 Flashback Till Opening Topic^^

  4. Topic of 2011 goes too.... Thanks J.D. for all your time and effort. Glad were on the same page about KIHistory. I might need to take a "flashback" in 2012. And by the way, your photoshops always entertain me, I know how long they can take!
  5. Aren't they making money off the site?.. Just wondering
  6. Thanks J.D. lol I have to many albums (one for each visit) Most are Beast now. Since I'm kinda bored I'm going to post how many photos I have per year.... 2006 = 2,795 2007 = 4,925 2008 = 7,722 2009 = 5,557 2010 = 4,543 2011 = 5,330 & Old KI Photos saved = 1,985 I should create a game about people guessing if I have a photo. Like name something random/practical at the park and see if I have a photo. K bye
  7. http://www.visitking...des_in_2011.cfm Impressive, This will probably be the only year Vortex has less riders. (Until it's removed, that is) Anyone on here have the prior year capacity's?
  8. Correct, the path and subway patio were changed slightly. 2011 season. The "tall" fences were added around racer about the time of the SFOG Batman incident so like 08 or 09? They were also added to Vortex, Beastie and I think TOPGUN.
  9. One of the few remnants of Wild Animal Safari
  10. The clock actually was in the park in (well at least 1974) but not in the familiar location it is today. It was located in the current spot of International Showplace.
  11. I did this about 3 years ago, but never was able to have my work showcased.... cough cough flint cough. Look forward to seeing more and more... maybe "Flashback Till Opening" will make a return this offseason
  12. lol if Ghoster Coaster was still here.... would it have fastlane....
  13. They do have fog machines at night, in the woods. :/
  14. I like The Beast
  15. The new map has 10,000x more bushes then the current summer map lol
  16. I noticed the same thing, I actually rode it 4 times.. in the back. It wasn't rough at all... but then again I'm use to The Beast.
  17. The "Beast" creature has actually been there all 2011 season, its off in the woods you just have to know where to look when you ride. So I'd assume it will be back
  18. I went to IB for the first time on Sunday. You could def. tell the rides employees had something on there minds as they did there jobs slow on purpose. Most noticeably at Hurricane where they would check the bars in slow motion each train. The games and food employees were cheerful and friendly. Just something I'd add.
  19. Do you think it increases capacity? It certainly has the possibility to, as you can fill every row and the possibility of pairing odd groups together such as two groups of 3 can ride in 3 rows rather then 4 rows. The big advantage of this is it keeps the heat of the station down and the air can move in the station. That station gets verrrry hot in the summer with a full station against the gates.
  20. Alright settle down all you ....... people At Beast this is what they do, what they call "pulsing the station" this is done by letting one trains worth of people into the station by simply saying "Please choose any empty row" cutting the line when there is about 4 empty rows left. Then asking the next people in line to go to these rows if they want the next train. Please don't get it in your mind that Beast is doing what Diamondback use to do by assigning numbered rows, as this is not the case. Having a separator is beneficial to the guests as it makes it simple to get there group on the same train without having to line up. The process is still somewhat new, give it a week or two to perfect it. Any questions feel free to ask.
