PKI Punk

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Jeff does one of the recordings in the station of SOB.

I don't want to be harsh, but here it is. I am a HUGH fan of roller coasters, especially those at PKI. A few days ago, I read a forum about SOB being retracked and it being smoother. After reading this, I went up PKI on 4/18, for the third time this season (this was the first day of them that SOB was running) and decided to ride SOB. I waited in line and thought to myself that the ride was going to be smoother because of what I had heard. I got in the train (2:2; not over the wheels) and the ride started. Once the train reached the rose bowl, I got the crap kicked out of me. The ride was so violent, maybe even worse than last year. I couldn't believe it. The ride is NO piece of junk, but you really cannot like a coaster if every time you ride it, it beats the hell out of you! I know the ride crews and maintenance crews work their @$$'s off, and I solute them for that, but their is no way to make this ride not beat you up! I am a Beast fan for life!

I like B&M looping coasters the best, those things are so awesome. They usually have the best layouts. Intamin doesn't make looping coasters do they? If they do, I can't think of any!

I don't know, my guess would be 007. That was a pretty cool ride. I think this ride would fit in with the "hollywood" theme.

Yeah, I was up there earlier today and I saw some guy in Delirium's line smoking right after Jeff's recorded voice came on the speakers w/ "There is no smoking in any line at PKI." He just kept on smoking.

I remember, I was just a kid and I was pumped up about Nick coming to PKI.

As of right now, PKI looks really good. I have seen much trash lying around the park. Excellent job Ecology crew!

Not only is the Italian Job best in CM, but that is the only ideal place to put it. (I mean space wise, where else in the park could a 200+ft tall coaster go?)

AE is the best mine train coaster that I have ridden, but the WORST coaster in the park. (I don't mean to affend anyone, but I REALLY dislike this ride, just my opinion.) Solid Snake, do I notice a little sarcasim in this?

It depends on the ride. For Vortex and F/O, I would like to hear music, but The Beast and Racer/recaR are better with Q-TV.

No Solid Snake, "we" just never stay up there long enough to ride it at night. But "I" have ridden it several times at night. It is a great ride.

What time and where are you guys meeting up in the afternoon?

I was there and the one time I rode The Beast, I heard the roar/growls when the train pulled out of the station. That was the only effect I experienced.

About TR:TR, I had heard there was going to be a new program this year, but I was up there today (04/04/04) and when I rode TR:TR, it was the exact same program as last year. Does anyone know if a new program is in the works?

When I first got to PKI, around 11:00, there was a sign that said PKI closes at 8:00. Then when I was leaving, around 1:30/2:00, the lady stamping hands said they close at 5:00, and the sign I first saw was taken down.

I don't know about things missing, but I noticed the seat belts on Beast and The Racer. I really didn't care for the seat belts though. Also on the Beast, when the car leaves the station, there are roars and growls that come from speakers in the station. Also, when I walked passed the giant garden clock, I noticed the hands are not on the clock and the flowers are not growing around the clock yet. Scrambler paint job looked good!

Thanks, I wasn't sure. Do you get a refund for parking if you buy the parking pass after you have paid to get in?

Now that would have totally changed the park as we know it now! If DZ would have been put where Flight Commander is, AZ would probably not be AZ.

The entire effect of TR:TR is awesome. To bad the ride isn't a little better. I wish it had a few more top spins!

Does anyone remember the temple ride from last season? I thought that ride was kind of cool. But the best ride was Days of Thunder.

Sorry this is a little off the topic, but if you buy a Gold Pass now, do you recieve free parking? I know you get Gold Pass parking, but what about just getting into the parking lot?

I can get my pass when I get up there tomorrow, correct? Just making sure.

TR:TR has the best theming. Just the atmosphere of the ride/que line is awesome.
