  1. If I were you, I would save up for the Platinum pass and plan on hitting some of the other CF parks. Kings Dominion is getting a new Giga Coasters and CP is just a short drive up the road from Cincy (compared to Miami Fl that is). Canada's Wonderland was like a cross between Kings Island and Cedar Point IOW a great park. Well I'll have to think about that closer to the time when I'm going to get the pass. If I have the opportunity to go to another CF park like KD, CP, CW, etc. that would be awesome and I'd definitely buy a platinum pass. I doubt, though, that next summer when I go up to Ohio I'll be able to go anywhere other than good 'ol KI.
  2. For my trip up there in 3 days I was thinking of buying this package. But then I thought "I know my way around KI. Since I'll be there by myself I can get a good 10 rides in on Diamondback. I know where the cheapest food is. And for that price I could buy alot of souvenir merchandise that I most likely couldn't get if I got the VIP tour."
  3. Boy is that the truth. With the trims on The Beast it has allowed Ravine Flyer II to surpass it as my favorite woodie. I will be riding Voyage for the first time next week, so I am guessing that Beast will move down to #3. Next month will be El Toro so I am afraid that my beloved Beast could slip even farther. The only reason The Beast is still my number one woodie is because of the memories I have of it, the location of it, and the night rides. If it was just some coaster over a concrete plot of land it wouldn't be my favorite, the Voyage would. I probably rode The Beast when it wasn't trimmed to death but I just can't remember. On topic, I personally really don't care that The Racer isn't backwards anymore. It's just the same track but like you're riding in the back of a truck.
  4. No problem. On my last trip to KI I took a good 1,000 pics. I'm trigger happy on my camera. But it's alright. I got a huge memory stick and even on the highest quality and biggest size I can still take a good 7,000 pics plus like and hour or two of video. More pictures just mean more oppurtunities for a Photo Trip Report.
  5. Oh, nasty!! Poor guy...... Poor everyone! You know every last person on that train got a taste of that.
  6. ^Well it seems like you made some ground. At least you get to go now.
  7. You haven't even been on it yet. You know I'm kiddin'.
  8. Wow. Thanks for the info. I'm truly saddened. I remember riding many steam trains and other locomotives with my late grandfather and that's the reason for my love of trains. He would sad to see the steam train gone too. At least they didn't get rid of the train! When I go to KI I'll take a full circuit POV of the train ride and post it up here for us train enthusiasts. Back on topic, these pictures that everyone's posting are really good. Keep 'em coming!
  9. That's what I did, too. And one for Flags, Busch, Camden, Dollywood, uh...I think I had best stop now! FTW!
  10. I'd say only go on if the price is $15 or less. This ride has scared the crap out of me every time I've ridden it. So I'd say it's worth it.
  11. Six Flags Over Georgia very unwisely converted their authentic steam trains to diesel. Yes, diesel. Yes, converted. Sigh. Wow.... Why the heck would they do that? Isn't a steam train more efficient?
  12. ^^Terpy you think a 10 and a half ride is long? My drive would be a 2 day drive. And my nearest park is 5 hours aways... So it seems we're both in a predicament.
  13. I love SFoG. I've been twice. Once, I think, when I was a little kid and another in the 2006 season right after Goliath opened. Goliath is a really great coaster. I rode it when it was still in it's opening "fastness". Nice pictures of the park. You're like me; you alot of pictures. Which is a good thing for people who haven't been/haven't been in a while. If Diamondback is better than Goliath(when I rode it), it is going to be a vastly superior coaster.
  14. I would love to get to this park and try out their coasters. It looks like a nice park. You're pictures are great and I'm glad you guys had a good time, especially the extra ride on Superman. Look forward to your next PTR.
  15. Very nice TR! Wildfire looks like an amazing coaster. The pictures of your daughter were very cute. I When I take my little cousin's to fairs down here I have the best time when they're enjoying themselves. So in that aspect I kind of know how you feel.
  16. I can't really comment on Diamondback's seating yet. Ki Man usually() knows what he's talking about on this subject, as do most of you. I'll be able to comment in about 6 days!
  17. I second that. I love trains. Whenever I'm at KI, CP, or other parks with trains. I take time from day to just ride the train. One, because of nice picture oppurtuinities and because KI's train is a real steam engine. My favorite. On another note, all these pictures are awesome. Keep 'em coming.
  18. Are you kidding me? This shouldn't even be a poll. AE has two wicked awesome lift hill, a ton of turns, animatronics, Indiana Jones music for some reason?, and is themed well. What BLSC? Is themed around a Mini Cooper driving around a parking lot... () Seriously AE is better IMHO.
  19. I've yet to ride Diamondback, but I doubt it'll be better than Millennium Force is, to me. A lot of people complain their's not enough airtime on MF but it's really not about that. Anyways, Diamondback has to be better than Magnum XL-200. It's a B&M!
  20. ^^^Yes, I think you're correct to as why no one responded. By the way, DropZone99, those are all amazing. Such great quality and clarity mixed into the great shots of the coasters, etc. It's like I took some Claritin before viewing those pics. I like the pic of Diamondback from WWC exit. Look at my pics on the first page and you'll se I took the same pic just about a year earlier. Please post more!
  21. 1.) Most likely not. 2.)Your BBQ meal will cost $9.99 because of your Platinum card. But either you or your wife might have to get the full priced meal because only one of you has the platinum pass. 3.)None of the rides will really be too rough for you except for maybe The Beast, Racer, Vortex, and Son of Beast (which I doubt will be open.) I haven't ridden the Crypt this year but I'll take the advice of other folks on this site and say skip it. Unless you guys direly want to or the line is not protruding for the cave entrance (this would make the line to long and not worth the wait). Unless you got kids with you skip Nick Universe except for the coaster credits. Here's the best way to ride The Beast, Racer, Vortex, and Son of Beast if possible. The Beast: must do a front seat ride. Particularly at night because that is when it gives the best ride. If you want a little less bumpy sit one seat behind the front. It's in the middle or the car and their aren't any wheels under you so it's less bumpy. Other than that just ride in the middle two seats of any car. And if you have the choice train #2 is the best (or at least was in my previous years there). Racer: Ride the red side. It's alot smoother than the blue for some reason. But on either side, like on The Beast, ride in the middle of any individual car 'cause it will offer the least bumpy ride. Vortex: Front car, first row is the best for bumpyness. If you want some nice floater air ride in the last car, first row(7-1). It is really fun. Son of Beast: The bottom line? Closer to the front the better. 4.) I think goofywdw has done a good enough job explaining The Crypt. 5.)I doubt it.
  22. I'm definitely getting a gold pass in fall/spring.
  23. Ok this is starting to get out of hand. Son of Beast is a world class, record breaking roller coaster that cost PKI and is now costing CF a ton of money. If Cedar Fair didn't seem like Son of Beast was worth the money they wouldn't invest in it. It would just sit there until someone started the worlds biggest bonfire . Also, like DaveStroem said, KI just a $22 Million dollar Beemer. The Rolls-Royce of the coaster world! They are not going to spend money, as of right now, on anything new(If they do I'll be highly surprised). To respond to the land issue. Some of the land IS protected because of the Little Miami River, but the only reason I can see for not expanding, at this point, is for monetary reasons like stated above. For every tree they take out it costs money, for every square foot of land cleared it coasts money. Personally I'm content with KI now that they have Diamondback. What more can you really ask for?
