No worries... Moving to trip reports.

The Rhino Rally thing kinda sucks though. That was the coolest part of the ride...

It's definitely more scary, but certainly family friendly. Gator girl will be ok.

Are There FREE Handouts For Season Pass Holders Opening Day?
BoddaH1994 replied to PKISecurity's topic in Kings Island
What about the Cedar Fair jacket you got free with your gold pass a few years ago? -
I can't remember, but I don't think they were. The hallway going toward the actual ride area was really dark, though.

Ryan, Do they make it so you can see the lasers? or is just luck of the draw? lol Nah, you still shoot in a similar fashion as you did with Scooby. Either my aim has improved over the offseason or it's a little easier to hit the targets. Like I said before, I think the guns were all recalibrated. Nah, it was stripped of the pop up cardboard Scooby characters that never seemed to work but other than that it's very similar to what it was like before.

Really? Busch does incredible shows and sets, Dollywood spends much, much more on sets and production and even has Dolly write some of their shows, Disney has some really phantasmic shows, Fiesta Texas is known for its incredible shows... But if it had been ANY other park and TV themed and song based, it would have made your skip list quickly? I think you need to rethink shows. What you almost seem to be saying is that you are not a show person, but since you know the people at Kings Island you give shows a shot there where you would not elsewhere. You really need to see some shows in parks like Busch Gardens Tampa, Dollywood, etc. Since when does putting a lot of money into a show make it good? Remember when (Paramount's) Kings Island put a million dollars into Magic of the Movies? Remember how good that show was?

So it's 1:23am and I just finished the latest KICentral update, and I want to send out a broadtext, but I'm not sure when. I realize that most people probably wouldn't want to get a text from us at 3:00am with news, but I've always been in kind of a bind as to when to send them out. Right now, I either try to avoid school hours, from 8:00am to 3:00pm and try not to send out the broadtexts after 9:00pm. But hey, I do what you guys want. So tell me, when's the best time to send them?

So, I got to check out Way Too Much TV earlier today at Kings Island. I was excited to see what they had done with the Festhaus this time around. It seems as though Kings Island is pretty committed to building nice sets, and this is no exception. As you can see, 6 TVs adorn the left and right sides of the stage with an additional 7th television in the middle built into the bar. In case you're wondering, the television sets that hang on the left and right sides of the eating area also carry a simulcast of what's being shown on the stage's television sets. But enough about TVs... Had I gone to any other park and heard they had a TV theme song-based show, it would have made my skip list quickly, but this one was produced in house and that hasn't seemed to have failed Kings Island at all in the past 5 years. The show begins back in the 1950s, with theme songs from such shows as "I Love Lucy" and many others. From there's it travels through the decades and ultimately leading up to the 1990s. Why stop in the 1990s? I'm not sure, but it works and it works well. Maybe it's supposed to be more of a nostalgic (there's that word again!) thing, but all I know is the show would have been knocked down several pegs in my book if the last ten minutes were the themes to shows like Kim Possible and iCarly. Kids these days... Anyway, one thing that I didn't expect to see was a lot of prop comedy. That was the thing... the show was actually funny. Like, it had some actual laugh out loud moments. One gag that particularly stuck out was when they were doing the Brady Bunch theme, they all pranced down the steps and when the person in front abruptly stopped it ended in a very Brady collision. I guess the thing I liked the most about the show was how it brought back memories of sitcoms I hadn't even thought about in a long time. Does anyone remember the theme the Full House? How about Perfect Strangers? Both of which were shows I grew up with, but haven't seen for the better part of a decade. This is a show that anyone can relate to in their own way. I'm very confident that it will be one of the more popular shows that has been hosted in the Festhaus in the past several years. Way Too Much TV features some of Kings Island's top performers that you have seen in such shows as Down Home Country, County Line, Ghouls Gone Wild and Hot Blooded. The singing and dancing is off the charts, as we have come to expect from our home park. I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's reaction to the show. Like I said, I think anyone on this forum can relate to it in their own way. Definitely check it out! Opens: April 17th - Opening Day! Show times: 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:30 and 6:00

Spring is here! It's that time - the time to wake from your offseason slumber and take a long-awaited spin on Diamondback, The Racer and of course The Beast as Kings Island opens its doors to the public for the first time in 2010 this Saturday! What's new for 2010? Planet Snoopy, of course! Join Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang as they bring a whole new life to Kings Island's award-winning kids section in 2010! Far from just an ordinary retheme, Planet Snoopy brightens up the former Nickelodeon Universe and features some of the most recognizable cartoon characters in the world today. Speaking of Planet Snoopy, there’s a brand new show set to debut with the park’s opening this Saturday called “Charlie Brown’s Hoedown!” Join Charlie Brown, Linus and Lucy as they head over to Grandma’s farm in this fun-filled musical sing-a-long for the kids. This show opens with the park on Saturday in Planet Snoopy and the show times will be 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 4:00 and 5:00. Do you watch way too much TV? Maybe you do, but that’s not always a bad thing! Also opening with the park this Saturday, “Way Too Much TV” will celebrate the past 50 years of television sitcoms with some of the most memorable intro songs in the history of television. "You'll want to see this one [Way Too Much TV] more than once” said Don Helbig, Public Relations Area Manager for Kings Island. This show debuts Saturday, April 17th in the Festhaus and show times are 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:30 and 6:00. To see a special preview of Planet Snoopy, “Charlie Brown’s Hoedown” and “Way Too Much TV” by following the link below: http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=lastup&cat=0

I've never ridden the ones at KD and Carowinds, but from what I understand they're smaller.

I actually got to take a sneak preview of Boo Blasters on Boo Hill today. Here's the lowdown: The first half is very similar to Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle, sans the characters. They actually did a fantastic job of livening it up, giving it a touch of paint and replacing the old characters with scarier characters. Then the second half. All hell breaks loose. I'm not going to spoil any of it for you, but let's just say that it's something that Kings Island can be very proud of. I'm talking special effects, in-your-face scenes, and the realistic animatronics. Oh, and the blasters work much better now too. I could hit targets that were really far away. I guess they gave it a MAJOR rehab. Can't wait to hear what you guys think after riding it this Saturday!!!

Breakdown: 1. We don't all have to be related do we? Nope, but you do have to be friends. Well, you don't HAVE to be friends, but life is better with more friends so why not? 2. Do we get early entry for both Kings Island and CP or just the park we buy the passes from? You are entitled to all of the Gold/Platinum Pass benefits that are offered at all of the CF parks. I'd check their specific websites for details. 3. My best friend and I are going to King's Island on April 24Th, but we don't know when the rest of the group will be able to process...Does that matter if we don't process at the same time? No, you can process whenever you want. 4. Should we all buy from CP's website so we can process at any of the parks? I'd call Kings Island @ 1-800-288-0808 for an official answer on that.

Q HAD DISCUSSED MERGING CEDAR FAIR WITH SIX FLAGS
BoddaH1994 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Not exactly. Granted, we're talking about a lot of money and a lot of debt. Then again, we're talking about a HUGE amount of buying power. If Q could get the companies fiscally stable, it would have a fantastic empire on its hands. -
In December, Apollo Global Management offered a leverage buyout of Cedar Fair, Kings Island's parent company. The deal consisted of a cash-for-units swap of $11.50 per limited partner unit. Plagued by investor protests and delays, Cedar Fair and Apollo Global Management announced today that they had mutually agreed to terminate the merger proposal. In a press release by Cedar Fair L.P., the company cites a lack of investor support. "The Board has heard from Cedar Fair unitholders and it is apparent that the merger transaction does not have the required level of investor support. We are honored and excited by the opportunity to continue to manage and operate Cedar Fair as a public company and to provide our guests with an outstanding experience." said Dick Kinzel, CEO of the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. As a result of this merger proposal termination, the Special Meeting of the Unitholders scheduled for April 8th has been canceled.
