End of Geauga Lake ride section
Kennywooddude replied to a topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
We don't want IJ:ST. Their going to redevelop the main entrance and hopefully add some more flats to the 50's Midway. The park is not going to close or end. If it brings in a profit, why kill it. -

The park did fine with just Thunderhawk in that area for two years. Also, the last thing I want CP to become is an American version of Blackpool. -
I doubt it would ruin attendence. "Oh my, they took the took some themeing out...lets go home" That seems kinda unrealistic.
-
Steel Venom at GL did that a few times during the Six Flags era.

I wouldn't doubt it. I mean Valleyfair! is the original Cedar Fair park behind Cedar Point. -

CF would NEVER take a coaster from a current park and put it in CP. That is the lowest thing they can do. -

Highly doubt it. Vallyfair! and Knotts are their second and third. -

Aurora and surrounding areas arn't full of old folks. And Sea World's major part of the attendence wasn't from old folks. Thats like saying 98% of Disney's attendence is kids under 10. Sea World was the northern draw. People from Pa, OH, ILL, NY and other states up here went there. BTW, Six Flags never took out Sea World, they expanded it. And Cedar Fair isn't trying to attract the older ones...their trying to attract family's. -

I don't think you could do it with a ride like X...er Firehawk unless you redo the lift hill to be taller/smaller. -

Why do people think the park is automatically closing down because they removed two coasters? Why not jump on the gun and go all "SFMM IS GOING TO CLOSE IN TWO YEARS!!!THEY SHOULD SEND SCREAM TO GE AND TATSU TO GADV AND BULLDOZE THE REST FOR REEEEELESTATE!!!!!!!". Trust me, no other coasters will be leaving. The park will stay a park as long as CF invests money into it. -
OOps, I mean trick track.

I dunno, it dosen't seem like a high priority thing to do. -
Hopefully after the TT is removed, they will be screaming for a good thing

It only needs its handrails and the wood where the steel is nailed to repainted and it's only half of the ride. That dosen't seem like something they would mention. -
I dunno. When I rode the flight back in 2001 it was smooth as glass but when I rode it this past summer it gave me a few shakes and bumps. The only thing I will miss about X-Flight is walking into the park and hearing the click click click of it going up the lift and then hearing the screams...but then there's always Villain.

It will be popular for a year or two but after that it will become "another rollercoaster" where it becomes rough.

Everyone mentions that GL was at it's best in the 80's and from what I heard, KW and GL were comparable. -

Yea but Double Loop is out of publics view where-as Dominator and Head Spin are right there on the midway. -

I guess you could say that with those two gone, it makes the park feel smaller and local. It also gives them a chance to get a Kennywood feel to the park. -

He said what he said. Nowhere did he say current thrill rides would be getting the paint jobs. Marketing people are very clever in what they say. Almost always the complete truth is hidden in there somewhere. If he meant to say what you say he meant, he would have said it. He didn't. Yea, but it was stated as one of the improvements for 2007. How would repainting rides that arn't at GL be an improvement? That's almost like them menting that Ninja at SFMM was getting repainted in an article for Dorney parks 2007 plans. -

I'm pretty sure they mean current attractions and the only rides in the park that need a fresh coat are Head Spin and Dominator. -

They can't be a picnic park if your not allowed to bring your own food and baskets. I mentioned on another forum that they should focas theirselves to be a "Kennywood Of The North". Also, there are pictures of Villains trick track being removed and Dominator and Head Spin seem to be the candiates to be repainted. -
FlightX sounds unique.

We're all in our late teens early 20's so why not act mature? We're all owned by the same company so why are we fighting and bashing other parks.
