If so it has been sitting there a long time... I do not believe that what you are seeing is the train. -

If you are trying to watch the Channel 5 video, make sure you are watching in Internet Explorer. I wasn't able to watch it in Firefox. (Microsoft Silverlight might be required as well) -
Nice PTR Luff! Did you get to see Terminator at all? That ride looks amazing! Hope you had a great time!

With everyone taking that back outside seat, I guess I will claim the very front row. I'm always left with the scraps! -
That's actually Chaka Khan from this video... The cats were the greatest QTV clip. I don't know why but I always found myself laughing at them.

Coasters you MUST ride: Diamondback (can't say much about it, but almost certain it won't be a letdown) Beast (too much history to pass it up; loooong ride that some very entertaining elements) Flight of Fear (In my opinion the best ride in the park as of the end of the season last year; smooth ride complete with a few(4) inversions) Firehawk ( totally different than any other ride in the park; the inverted loop is enough to make me want to ride) Again this is my opinion and most coasters can be ridden in one day, unless you have children that will want to spend most of their time in Nick Universe, which is completely understandable seeing as though it is rated as the best Kiddie-land in the US. Flat rides you MUST ride: Delirium (very intense and thrilling; G forces are astounding) Drop Tower (Huge rotary drop ride, if you think you are at the top, you're probably half-way there) The Crypt ( Can't say it's high on my list but many people seem to enjoy the Huss Top spin) Restaurants: Wings diner/buffet: Montgomery Inn BBQ, need i say more? Skyline: If not from the Cincinnati area, it's definitely something to try while in the park. La Rosa's Pizza: Again another Cincinnati favorite of mine. In my opinion, one of the best pepperoni pizzas in town Hope that helps you out a little... Sorry I couldn't offer more information on when to visit, I will leave that up to some of the more "frequent" park-goers on this site

[Please flip your humor switches to on before reading this post] Turning off the webcam for today was all a scam! The construction crew did not want us to get a peek at what the trains will look like so that we will be surprised later. They planned the windstorm as their cover. That's right, I said it, Helbig controls the weather as per the crews' desire. Snow? The workers just wanted a few days off. Rain? The project was ahead of schedule and progress needed to be slowed. Wind? Need an explanation for why the webcam was "broken" during the time they installed the trains. How did I never notice this before?!?! What can I say, Helbig has connections.... [you may now move your humor switches back to their normal positions, mine will remain in the on position...] -

^ i would say both. First, what the trains look like and then how the trains grow throughout the process of installation. -

EDIT: Just for some clarity on my part Shaggy, the pump system that was used to create the Rivertown creek was retained during the construction of Diamondback? -

Don't take this the wrong way, but what exactly do you mean? Is it about the water itself, that the water is floating, or is it something else? I do not see the purity of the water being a tremendous problem for the reason that the water will not be directly struck by water. -
Top Thrill Dragster. My first ride on TTD was in the front seat of the train and the ride felt like a religious experience. However, subsequent times that I have ridden in the "lower" seats in the train the ride wasn't as thrilling as I remembered. Looking down that stretch of track and looking directly into the heart of the roll unobstructed is just amazing.

Yeah, the Daily really screwed up the info regarding the coaster when the story first broke due to their inability to decipher a drawing of the coaster. I guess they decided to stick with the information they came up with. Either that or the they know something we don't.... I knew that clearing by SOB was for something!!! hahaha Waiting for construction on lift number two to begin! -

That would take all the fun out of it! Riding coasters in darkness is a whole new experience from riding during the day. It gives me chills to remember the night rides on Millennium Force.. amazing doesn't begin to cover it. Not exactly sure about your argument here but Millennium has quite a few lights on the lift hill. I think that the swan lake area should be lit up but the rest of the ride in the dark. This would make for some great pictures of the splashdown and accentuate the height of the lift hill. -
Thanks for the info! I agree, I do not think that they will finish the track before the end of December, but you never know. If Helbig said it I think there's a pretty good chance of it happening.

The dead-giveaway of the use of a chain is the return trough running underneath of the lift as seen on Behemoth. -

I believe it was determined that the chain seen is for the small crane. I hope I am not ruining sarcasm but I couldn't tell so I figured I would clarify. -
SFMM Annouces Terminator Wooden Coaster
fcbaseball replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Don't know where I read this but I remember hearing somewhere that Terminator Salvation takes place in post-apocalyptic setting with many of the images that have been coming out showing a desert scene. If this proves true, I can understand the wooden coaster direction. Post-apocalyptic accompanies lack of technology thus a wooden, old-time, coaster. Somewhat of a roundabout way of approaching it, but hey wouldn't you come up with any excuse to obtain a GCII coaster? EDIT: In addition, this is not the official announcement. The official announcement will take place this week, too bad for SFMM that all this info was leaked. Either that or terrible planning on the PR side. Could you imagine if that would have happened with Diamondback... -
