Sorry if this question has been asked already, but there are soo many pages and so little time! I RSVP'd for the event and it gave me the link to get a ticket. I already have a pass and it just says "Adult Park Admission+ Buffet" and "Adult Buffet" What if you don't want to get the buffet? Do you not have to pay anything and just show up since I already said I am going to be there? Or does the 16.95$ ticket get me access to the event AND buffet?

Brown said it all. The cost of SoB is just too great and too big of a waste. As stated above, people don't come to KI to ride SoB. I did once and that was when it opened a few weeks ago...I'll be curious to see what will become of this ride over the off-season and 2008 season.

Today, Son of Beast tested many times and eventually opened for about 10 minutes. About 3 trains full of guests later, it was closed for the rest of the day. I honestly don't have any idea what is keeping it from being open, or for being torn down.
-
I think everyone would want to know what is wrong with SoB. Today, I got asked that 1000 times. Thanks for the comments, guys.

This coaster is unpredictable. Besides the ride. You know you are going to be roughed up.
-
It should be torn down, and the wood turned into paper and pencils for schools in Nicoragua.
-
THIS JUST IN!!!! The loop isn't being put back in.
-
^You got it.

^I was joking, since the two train-station op is rare.

Hey everyone! I just went to KI today for a few hours. I got on a lot of rides for a Friday! FoF - 1 ride, about 1/2 hour wait Face/Off - 1 ride, about 1/2 hour wait Racer - 3 Rides, 0 wait Delirium - 1 Ride, about 15 minutes Firehawk - 1 ride, 1/2 hour wait! Vortex - 1 ride, about 10 minute wait So Firehawk was the highlight of the day! It was running two trains and using both stations! There was a big section filled up, but the ops were great with enthusing the riders and getting the trains rolling! They would get the trains loaded, send one out, then get the other one ready and dispatch as the 1st train was in the helix. Then there would be a minute of loading/unloading....repeat! The only complain I had is that they would hold flip-flops and souvoneer cups.....but they would NOT take my hat! My hat is just about the same saze or smaller than a flip flop...so I had to hold it! Well, I still had a kick ass ride. I made sure the op didn't staple me, and rode in the middle. Butter smooth, forceful loop, fun in-line twists and a great helix. Makes my top 10 and replaces BORG! And, of course, photos. Oh yea, got the videos working, hopefully... They are putting the loop back in. Ear banging loop...but forcefull! Ear banging side loop...but fun! And she's climbing the stairway...to hea-vuuunnnn.... Yummmyyyyy...oh wait, my ears will hurt after this. Time for Delirium! Just love that Delirium Yay for a midway shot Approved racing coaster! Still a little bumpy, but if you sit in the right seat, it's great! Firehawk! I like this shot. I would LOVE it if I had a better zoom. I love this shot. Comin' round the horseshoe...or egg turn? You choose. I really like that sign. ALL TEST PILOTS TO FLIGHT DECK! Tired of horseshoe/egg turns? Okay, it's the last one anyway... Ever seen this before? Probably NOT! Haha. Yellow train and looking back at Coney from Firehawk's station. Station shot! I was on the right side. You have to go down and then up some stairs! :shockr: You can get some cool shots from the station! Firehawk's transfer track Certified Test Pilot! Let's fly! The lift is soooo darn loud! Two train shot again! Mmm...that's an awesome helix. Someone will appreciate this. Firehawk overview Once again....better zoom = awesome pic. Oh yea...there was FREE VAULT when I was leaving! I was handed FOUR CANS!!! GAH TOO ....muchh....sugar and caffeene!! Thanks for reading everyone!

Same here! Last year, I thought SoB was in its best condition! The Beast isn't bad anymore! CF put some new wood on it I usually lean into the turns, like on Vortex through the turns, just to be safe. I had that seat yesterday, it was HORRIBLE! My advice, since it recieved a lot of new wood, is ride in the back. There is one bumpy part, but all the airtime on the first drop and numerous hills make up for it! The Racer is my #2 woodie now! (behind Thunderhead ) And Top Gun, but no roughness there. I do agree with you on the part about Vortex, but I usually do that automatically, have rode it so many times. Truer words never been spoken -Zach

Yea, Cedar Point runs its flat ride cycles way shorter than KI.
-
^That was the first day KI opened...it was warming up.
-
^What on earth are you talking about? Delirium is still running the same circuit it has since it opened. You still go about 65-70*, that's almost upsidown, and plus...you do that four times! So you must need some vision correction...or somthing else.
-
Should I post a wall-paper version? And if you think that pic is good....oh boy...haha. What the heck, here is a desktop size for the picture!
-
^The first or last? Or both?
-
Thanks guys! More pics may come tomorrow.

Thanks guys, but I think I will have to stick to that red train, though I do like the blue still.

I got to KI around 12:15. Went straight to Son of Beast....it was testing! Video will show line and stuff, but to tell it short, we waited an hour before it opened, then got on the last car front seat. Son of Beast Review I was very nervous....the G-Trains are comfortable and the lap bars are PADDED! The train rolled out of the station and it bumped a bit as we headed to the lift. It seemed just a bit better than the old Son of Beast before. As we climbed the lift, it was still loud as usual....maybe even louder! So we go down the small drop and inch over to the 200ft drop. There was some airtime! I was really shocked at that point because it was also smooth! Smooth and airtime! After the drop, you speed up the second hill (FLYING over it compared to the old trains) and some floater air on the second drop! But here is where the ugly side shows. The first helix is very rough at the bottom, don't get me wrong it is a HUGE improvement, but still! It was rough....then you head into some brakes and down the drop to where the loop would be. Well, instead, there is a small speed bump (see Thunder Dolphin!) and curve to right. It didn't do much, but you could fell a gentle push out of your seat...nothing really. As you head up to the second helix, there are some more head choppers! Yay! The second helix was fun, a few bumps...then up and over a hill to turn around, then dive down and up into the really hard brakes! All and all it was a fun ride! I'm glad it was back open, but I'm going to stay in that seat for a while :lolr: Too afraid to see what the other seats are like. So lets review. +The new trains! More leg room, padded bars and seat belts! +Airtime on the first drop! +Not as rough as it used to be in a LOT of places! +They crew was really good with running the trains! No stacking! +New credit +These seats are kind high, you down sink into them like the old ones...better views! -Loud, odd squeaks and screeches all over the ride -Still rough areas And I got to go on The Racer, it was running AWESOME today! There was airtime all throughout the ride! Ops were allowing re-rides! (9times) Vortex was good today! Front is very forceful through the loops and batwing! Firehawk learned a new trick today! It was able to keep a 2 hour line while running one train op with an empty train! Yup, the only train running was empty, it ran empty for like....5 circuits! It later got the second train on the track because they stopped running the other one. I love you, Firehawk [/sarcasm] Oh, and I rode Skyflier. That drop nearly beats Firehawk, pure freefall. Skies weren't too promising when I arrived... ....but got sunnier as we waited for SoB to open! Garuntee you haven't seen this before! A lot of important looking people are here My first look at the new logo...no more loop! Some more detail Oh boy...time to ride... Firehawk and its single ghost-train operations Racer (Forwards in the back car) has the best airtime at KI! My #2 wooden coaster...would have been a cool pics of the trains were there, but I would have only caught one since the ops never raced them. Did I mention it's through the trees? Mmm...I like fast, non concussion-inducing helixes Yea, I'll take the double loop with side of corkscrew, please Racer <3 Since everyone loves Delirium, I will leave you guys with this! Thanks for reading!

Um, guys....Vortex is sinking.
-
Yikes, too bad one bad ride can influence some one so strongly. Wrong ride at the wrong time! But it's not really their fault, if you have mental disorders like that, you shouldnt be riding in the first place.....right?
