I rode Son of Beast twice last Tuesday when I got there they were working on the red train. We even had to wait a few minutes when they were done so they could load it on the track. Which was actually pretty cool which may sound silly. But I thought it was since I've never seen it done before. I was in the red train on my second ride later in the day and I didn't notice anything wrong. I haven't been back yet, but will be going again this Tuesday. I hope both Drop Zone and Son of Beast are up and running. If not then I'll just ride something else and still have fun.

Glad to know it isn't anything wrong with Son of Beast. Also that makes what twice now that Drop Zone was struck by lightning?

I get what you're saying. I just personally like a little roughness in my ride. I expect it in fact. I had the roughest ride I've ever had on Racer the other day, but it will not stop me from riding it again. For all the problems Son of Beast has had I'm just glad it's open and hopefully will stay that way.

I didn't notice any other brakes than the mid-course ones, which made me happy since I was afraid they were going to add lots. I still like the ride, as for people saying it's rough of course it's going to be a rough to some extent it's a wooden coaster that is over 200 feet tall. I would be disappointed if it was totally smooth kinda takes the fun out of it. I'm just glad it's open again. And somewhere else someone said they liked the blue train. I do too. It looks very sharp up close with the logo on it.

I rode it Wednesday night in the second to last seat and the front seat. You get some airtime in the back not so much in the front. While I like the airtime I really like the front because of the rush you get going down that first drop. I waited about 25 minutes each time. Maybe a little longer for the front.

Does anyone else think SOB looks weird with a blue train? a little bit but at the same time it looks pretty cool with the new logo on the front. I rode the blue train both times today.

From what I could tell the first seat was the old second seat and there were about 5 gates at the back of the station that are no longer used. They put up new railings to block these off but the old railings are still there. People seemed excited to ride it again from what I can tell. I know I was the park just isn't the same without it in my opinion. As for the loop I do miss it, but at the same time I'm just glad I'm able to ride it again. I didn't find it all that rough there were a couple of spots yes but it isn't in worse than any other wooden coaster. Plus I really like the new trains it was a nice comfortable fit.

After I found out it was open I went up right after work. The lines were about 20 minutes long for me a little longer the second time since I waited for the front. The new restraints were pretty comfortable they have a little padding around the bars. It's still fast and a lot of fun. The first time I rode near the back and got great airtime on the first drop. I'll be back on my normal KI day on Tuesday and it will be the first thing I ride.

I was also at the park on the 3rd. It was nice to see a greeter instead of a sign. They told me that they had hoped to get it running today but it didn't look like it was going to happen. And it didn't, but there were several cycles of both the red and blue empty trains as others have pointed it. To me that's a good sign on top of an actual greeter.

The basketball solution could be an easy one. Instead of giving you a basketball when you win you are given a voucher then on your way out of the park you can collect the basketball. That way you still get your beloved basketball and none of us get hit with it.

I didn't plan on going to the park today but a friend lives by there so if I go there I may just have to swing by if it's open great I can't wait to ride it if not I'll ride The Beast a few times then head over to my friends.

I was also at the park on 6/26 and watched several test runs. I also could've swore I saw people on it with the test dummies but wasn't sure. Son of Beast probably ran at least 10 cycles that I witnessed if not more. I also got a good look at the logo on the front of the train but couldn't get my camera phone to snap a photo in time. It was great hearing the roar of the chain lift again.

Cool maybe one of these days I'll make it there. I'm usually not by myself I go with my mom who got me into coasters at a very young age. And I'm with you on the basketballs.

Why should someone have to ask to sit in a seat that is next to yours? You don't own the seat. I would rather see a full train cycle than a train with single riders in multiple seats. If the ride operators do not attempt to fill all the seats, that only means longer waits for the people behind you. My wife and I are still using the parent swap program. We understand that chances are, we will not ride together. Most times, both of us will get multiple dirty looks from guests that do not understand the program. The last thing I would ever do is have another single rider wait an extra cycle because I am not willing to let them sit down unless they ask. It's not that I mind riding with strangers I have had several good experiences riding with someone I don't even know. I just always ask the person out of respect. I know I'm not always going to get the same it's just nice. I've never refused someone whether they asked or not. Years ago some guy asked me if they could ride the front seat with me on The Beast turns out it was his first time. So let me say again that I don't mind riding with strangers. I know they paid the same as me it is just nice when someone says "hey is it okay if I ride with you?" I have made friends this way before and even spent the day going to other rides with them since they were by themselves too. It just breaks the tension of sitting with a stranger by asking. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Like I've said I loved King Cobra it was a great ride and no one would like to see it put back up more than me. I don't think sitting in a field for a little over 4 years can be good for it though. I would say put in a newer stand up with the same elements Cobra had only longer. Even call it something cheesy like Black Mamba. I don't know it's late and I'm tired.

Last I heard it finally made its way to the scrap yard. I used to hold a grudge against Delirium for replacing King Cobra but have since given in and enjoy the ride. King Cobra was one of my favorites. I was at the park yesterday too, didn't get there till about 3 though, took a quick ride on The Beast then the rain came. I got back in line for The Beast and waited out the rain there. The park was pretty empty yesterday I walked on almost everything. I think my longest wait was for Flight of Fear and that was only about 10 minutes for the front seat. On Vortex for some reason I've found if you sit in the back it doesn't jerk you around as much at least not for me. Also I may be crazy about this but I swear if I have my hands up it's a smoother ride. And on Firehawk you have to have your hands out to get the full flying sensation. I had to edit to say that I also rode Tomb Raider: The Ride and without the music it was completly pointless. It was borderline silly seeing all the effects go off with no music to go with it. At least it didn't slam me around this time though.

I'll be at the park again on Tuesday as I go every tuesday. If I see anything else I'll post it here. I'll try and get some pictures but all I have is a camera phone and as someone else said Son of Beast's loading station is hard to see inside of. The best vantage point I got was on Drop Zone but obviously I can't take a picture from there.
-
I was there yesterday as well. The line looked to be about 30min or so. I went and rode everything else numerous times then made it my last ride of the night and I only had to wait one cycle. Mind you this was right at 10.

I liked the show a lot. But I did suffer of when is it not appropriate to clap. I wasn't sure. I didn't want to clap at the wrong moment, but I thought it was a well done show and the performers were fantastic in my opinion.

Yeah I was kind of shocked there wasn't headrests either. I mean all the other rides at Kings Island have them. Racer has them The Beast has them. Although it would be different if Son of Beast doesn't have them. I'll ride it no matter what once it opens. It was one of my favorites I used to ride it first every visit. Open the day with Son of Beast and close the day with The Beast.

I was at the park today (Tuesday the 19th) I couldn't get a photo but there was a complete train inside the loading station of Son of Beast filled with water dummies as passengers. Looks like it's one step closer to getting opened. Oh and the train that I saw was just like the ones shown in other photos. Red with no headrests. You can kind of see it from the exit ramp of Top Gun but I got a better view while riding Drop Zone.
