  1. The windstorm knocking down the section of the rose bowl is a perfect example of why it should be torn down. It's just not "right". I don't advocate removing any coaster-except this one.

i have to disagree with this statement, the reason the section collapsed wasn't because of a poor design, it was because it wasn't completed before a windstorm hit.

the structure has to be decently solid, it's stood through many tremors with no problems.

  2. so, i guess i'm having withdraws because i had another Kings Island dream.

this time Son of Beast was open and the only differences with the ride was the station (the walls put up for "haunt" were actually walls to add theming to the station), the trains (well not really a difference, but both were red), and after your first dive into the rosebowl you took a quick turn to the right to slow the train down more before you take your second dive into it.

then, i had a dream after i woke up from that one because i was so excited to tell the KICentral community that i had just ridden Son of Beast, i fell back asleep and had a dream that KICentral was hosting a special event at walt disney world. i woke up from that dream right before a group of kic'ers walked into the haunted mansion for a backstage tour.

  3. lol, my craziest Kings Island dream ever.

last night i had a dream that Cedar Fair started up this program to show off what the multiple parks in the chain had to offer ride wise. to accomplish this, major attractions from each park were moved to others for promotional/riding purposes for the course of two weeks. Kings Island had been given top thrill dragster and raptor from Cedar Point, but i don't remember, in my dream, what was missing from Kings Island, if anything.

i've just got to say, in my dream it was really weird seeing top thrill dragster while walking through starlight, behind the Eiffel Tower.:P

  4. icon_STOP.gif2011 - Stratosoar / Thrill Ride - Semi-Confirmed - (8/17/10) A reader sent us a link to an old Park World article about a new creation Mondial announced in early 2010 called the Wind Seeker. In short, the ride was developed as their own version of the Star Flyer… one that could operate in higher wind conditions as there steel arms holding the twin-seater chairs in place instead of wimpy chains. So could The Point's new ride really be the first Wind Seeker?

posted on screamscape, and in all honesty, this makes so much more sense to me than a star flyer, especially with the crazy weather (i'm referring mainly about wind) lake erie gets.

  5. i ignore them, while trying to not let them pass.

you'd be amazed at how many get angry because you won't let them in front of you.

also, two sundays ago while in line for Diamondback, whoever was running the height check station at the rides entrance kicked a group of around five, out of line because of them letting their friend get in line with them.

  7. This is El Toro's fifth season. To even think the ride just got to 1,000,000 rides in five seasons in the busy, busy Northeast is comical indeed.

see, i kind of thought that, but when i thought about some intamin's track records, plus how difficult it is to run a park in new jersey, i really didn't give it a second thought. :)

  8. ^yea, just look at it this way (i know this isn't Cedar Fair, but...) today, el toro at six flags great adventure finally got it's one millionth rider, it's been open to the public for four years, Diamondback was opened a little over a year when it gave it's 2 millionth rider.

... on second thought, is that because el toro was built by intamin, or is it because it's in new jersey?

You got to be kidding me...

1 millionth rider this season...:lol:

well, in all fairness, i didn't know that it was the millionth rider this season, the facebook post from great adventure didn't specify that, and since i don't know much about that park, i just assumed that it was 'in the ride's lifetime.' :)

  10. sorry for the double post, but i found it interesting that this is still posted on screamscape.

well, at least at the time of this post.

(8/5/10) We've heard from a few readers that Cedar Point has set up a giant present box addressed to Snoopy near Planet Snoopy with instructions not to open it until August 8th. As predicted, this should be next year's new attraction announcement. While the Stratosoar rumor is the strongest right now, it's funny how the coaster rumor keeps popping up. Is it just a fanboy dream or a deliberate attempt at misinformation spearheaded by The Point? Perhaps a little of both… and maybe… just maybe… there could be some truth to it. To help keep their record intact, I have heard a new rumor claiming that the park just mightadd a new kiddie coaster to the Planet Snoopy area as well since SFMM is adding a kiddie coaster next year. Gotta keep that coaster count up you know.
