Will The Beast and Son of Beast be up?
-
Quick question guys, does the main park with all the rides (Beast, Vortex, Son of Beast ect) stay open in October? I'm not interested in the halloween hunt at all and just want normal rides to be around.
-
Good find! Thanks for answering that. FYI I found a very low quality video of KCKC. Does anyone know of another vid of the ride? (A little clearer lol)
-
Well, I can't buy one until I know whether or not I'll be working there next year or not. What is a Cedar Fair Maxx Plus pass? Does it mean you get admission to all Cedar Fair parks in the country? If so is it a good deal?
-
Congo falls exists now. Although unless you have a 20 person partyhouse to ride I have more fun on the Kings' mill. lol by fake water I meant "show spritzers" not actual gushing water. The kings mill slope uses show spritzers and not a real real waterfall. Did KCKC actually drop water or use the show effect?
-
I mean I thought real water was running down, I didn't know it was fake crap while the wheels scraped against the jagged bottom. In KCKC was there real water actually falling down the drop or was that fake also?
-
First, I did think that the "show water" was real when I was a kid . Second, I never expected this topic to reach TWELVE pages!!! Shikes!
-
Wow, still alive eh? Cool. Thanks Dvo for bringing it back on topic. I'm sure boat jamming would be a problem as they are sometimes even at the kings mill which stands today so I can't imagine how tough it would be for a big ride like KCKC to operate both sides.
-
Holy crap this topic is alive! My girlfriend wants to go to KI but we probably wont make the trip. She remembers KCKC though! Let's keep this on topic as I was suprised to see a heated debate going on... lol
-
So I guess then it was removed due to maintainence costs even though I thought King's Mill was older, and queue lines being too short. I would have hated to witness it being torn down... wow, and lol at the "TR:TR not being the worst ride comment"
-
Okay guys but what makes a Hydro Flume LESS thrilling that a logflume? Does getting soaked add more excitement as opposed to higher heights and speed? Ohh and how deep exactly is KCKC?
-
Or maybe the SOB should be left as is but with an excessivly unrealisticly long line for the front seat of the blue train so the rider actually has fun and doesn't have to fight for their life. And another line for 1st time unsuspecting riders and riders with balls of steel who can tolerate even the most vicious "beat em up" rides. (Hey we do have one here lol)
-
Why are hydroflumes so costly compared to log flumes? PLEASE!! Help me understand the difference of the two.. I guess nobody appreciates height and just wants to be soaked.
-
I have no problem with them not themeing the bigger rides but I think that if Cedar Fair redid the kids' area there would be major problems and a huge amount of business would be lost. KI has a top rate kids' area with Nick themeing but rides like Top Gun, and TR:TR I really couldn't care less.
-
Why are so many hydroflumes being removed? Are they inferior to smaller log flumes? If so, why?
-
Actually SOB is a very sad story. It was just not built well. The most prolific roller coaster designer ever made the blueprints then a company with very little experience (roller coaster corp. of America) built it. Roller coaster corp of America only built one other wooden roller coaster and it sucked too! I forget the name but I just saw it yesterday and could get back to you. It was ALSO plagued with maintainece problems and needed to be re-designed after only a couple years. I WONDER why SOB has problems.... coincidence? If I had 3 wishes for KI: 1. SOB was built by a better company 2. Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal was brought back instead of TR:TR 3. Food was better and REASONABLY PRICED.
-
Haha, so are you saying that the food they have now is crap? I DEFINITLY know that everything is more than a rip-off. Funny how this has nothing to do with the Keelboats I miss so much. sob Anyone know why exactly they took it down? Were they paid big bucks to put the Tomb Raider name out there even though the keelboats were a way better ride. If it is still legal, I sorely wish they would build it again. Odds of happening are probably the odds of winning the lottery twice!
-
I don't remember the water being gross, so it's MORE gross than The kings' mill one? Weren't the keelboats in a surrounding pond? Well, if that was the case at least you don't get as wet as you do on kings mill. Delectable food??..
-
OMG!! haha!! I was there when u toke the pic. I rode in the frount seat lik 5 times in a row with almost no wait! Wait, what day was that. On August 14th it was ALMOST that good, but still not quite.
-
That's the name right there. Rib smashing is what happened when I didn't ride in the front seat of the blue train. If you don't ride it Exactly right that is. Still my favorite as I always ride it smoothly.
-
Haha probably. Adventure Express is now a 5?? The Wild Thornberry's log flume is a 4!?! So pretty much some silk smooth non-intense rides now have ratings of 4 probably due to the change in altitude or something lame like that. I could bet almost anything nowadays that KCKC would be a 4 in intensity.
-
Wow, just started college and havent' been able to post in a while. The roughest most painful seat is probably the middle-back of the train in the rear seat of the car on the RED train. good luck! I've had to for the record ride The Racer and any other car of S.O.B. Defensivly.
-
point taken. The TR:TR building doesn't seem like a desirable structure to have at the front of the park. Just curious, you know how each ride has a rating now from 1 to 5, what was KCKC's rating? I'd guess about a 4? (Maybe 3 back then with the old ratings?)
-
you probably have an exceptional tolerance for rough rides considering the responses of many many others in S.O.B. topics. It seems that for most a fine line does exist.
-
Hmm. never thought of that. Each time I rode the blue one though it was consistently smoother. The red one felt like it had a square wheel or something with more bouncing even in front. Ohh, and if you wand proof go ride it and feel the proof. Or take the word of other posters. Lol or consider that I'm not a human vegetable after 20+ rides.
