  1. Ohh Terpy and his Great Adventures, you almost sound like a little kid in a candy shop when talking about anything to do with them! Say hi to Fred and Wilma for me!
  2. If The Beast and Maverick were to meat up, then The Beast would be slaughtered. There are probably just as many thoosies who hate The Beast as thoosies who love anything Cedar Point. Jackson, who's not being pessimistic, but realistic.
  3. From the time I placed my bid on March 10, I have fallen from 111 to 142, but I still might hang in there untill April 15th. I just hope that there isn't a wave of bids on the morning of the 15th, people waiting untill the last second to put in money.
  4. This guy was pacing too. This guy was just plain hyperactive I am the king of the Exhibits! This guy was staring into the painted wall Awww, how adorable! Pacing Freaks Unite! How pretty Time for the Gorillas. Joe! For the last time, you are a Monkey, not a Gorilla! We got there just in time for feeding! The gorillas actually just sat there and caught the carrots being thrown to them! They then casually sat down and ate them with their hands, looking normally at us as if we were the ones in the exhibit! Whoever said Gorillas were stupid is gravely mistaken. Hey look, baboons! Time to see some rhinos! Ok, we stopped to look at this guy. And this dude, whatever he is. Rhino! This rhino was about 2.5' tall, most like him grow to be about 5 feet! The reptile house! Featuring Lizards, Snakes, And Gila Monsters Galore! This is a Python What's so special about this guy? He's Got 2 coasters named after him! I just saved 15% on my car insurance! The Famous King Cobra If you can't see him, he's doing his job well. We then headed to the car to go home. The only problem, there are too many hills! Finally we found our way to the entrance. Now just a leisurely drive home, right? Wrong! Can you say, an hour of traffic on I-75? Don't worry, we made it home ok. That's all For now! Thanks for Reading!
  5. Ohh, bubble! I like bubbles because they give you an up-close view of things. Now THATS a fish. The manatees were balled up in a corner playing with a basket. What do we have here? A large assortment of fish, and a reflection of me, in my Kentucky Rumbler shirt. Have you ever seen a real live parahna? Well, this is what they look like. Did someone say Florida? Like I said, anything Florida, I'm there. Big Turtles This is the skeleton of a manatee That's a big snake! One of my favorite authors, Carl Hiaasen, prefers to write his books here. Me? I am in love with the Space Coast. Do you see him? How about now? I'm gonna take a picture like that one day. I actually have that picture in my room. It's the full Earth, taken by Apollo 17. Ohh god, I think I'm thirsty. Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, Oh My! Umm, no tigers here, just an impact crater ..... Now Here's a Tiger! And 2 Cheetahs... Apparently it's feeding time! This guy doesn't look to happy, maybe its because the people are cleaning the exhibit during his meal? It's Not an Albino.... Its a white tiger. Coooool. One of the many horrible hills you must climb at the Zoo. The Lemurs are one of many no-shows today. Time for the Nocturnal House. No flash, some of the pictures are hard to see. Can you see it? Neither can I. Vampire Bats! A...umm....I don't know what that is. Sorry these are coming out blurry I don't know what that is, but boy is it cute! That is an Armadillo, folks. The Insect House. Oh God No. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's insects... Or spiders Or scorpions Or roaches Ants aren't too bad. Whoever thought Mantis was a bad name for the roller coaster, they were wrong. That, my friends, is a naked Mole Rat. Bullet Ants Known for their blindingly painful sting. Here is my dad (The guy in the green) in the Butterfly house. The cat house? I'm allergic to cats! Well, not if they're balled up in a log, I'm not. The desert! This cat must be worried He was pacing non-stop Next Post for more....
  6. Yesterday I visited the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens! I am on Spring Break, so look forward to more from me over the next 5 days! Today is looking rainy, maybe a Museum Center PTR? At about 1:30 when we left, the weather was cloudy and a band of light rain was passing through. We made the decision to head out, thinking that we could squeeze in a few hours. The famous Jeep! Can you believe this is 12 years old!!! It wasn't long after we headed out that we experienced the first of many traffic problems Yepp, a stalled car on our exit. After about 15-20 minutes navigating through the run-down area around the zoo, we finally found the vehicular entrance. Me? I haven't visited the Cincinnati Zoo since 2007. In fact, I haven't visited any zoo in over a year! The last time was Spring Break 2008, and that was the St. Louis Zoo. The entrance seemed as inviting as I remembered it. After climbing up one of the many hills the Zoo covers (This one happened to contain the main entry area), we crossed the Train Tracks. I remember them being a lot bigger.... First off on our list was Trooper Mom's (Who wasn't available for this trip, currently working at the heavily male-gendered Danis Cooperation in Dayton) favorite, The Adorable Red Panda. Does this look familiar to any KI Addicts? It's not a Canadian Goose, but still.... Pea**** ahead! And then there were the penguins.... Sure, it's a step-down from the amazing Penguin habitat in St. Louis, But it ain't too bad. This particular Pea****, one of many roaming freely through the zoo, was bent on shopping in the closed gift shop. Lions and Tigers and Bears! You can find 'em all at the Cincinnati Zoo! Don't be fooled by how cute they looked in the Wizard of Oz, these guys are fearsome! How about the Spectacled Bear? Nope, not much out of him either... Here's something we should get some action out of! The majestic Polar Bears! These guys were up and moving around! One of them was even putting on a swimming display for us! He would swim up, do a 180, swim down, and do a presentation for the viewers underneath the water. These viewers! He looked so at home in the water! Why, what's over here? If it isn't the amazing Bald Eagle! Apparently, this Eagle Named Rachel had a pretty rough past. The Bald Eagle is one cool bird, and boy is it big! Next up, the White Lions! Lions, Tigers, and Bears, oh my! What a ferocious Kingdom you have, oh lion. Lions sleep 23/24 hours of the day! So there is only a 1/24 chance we catch them awake. Ohh yea, time for my favorite exhibit in the entire zoo. Why is it my favorite? The answer is right here. The Manatee exhibit has 2 sections, this greenhouse type exhibit for Crocs and Gators and whatnot, and an indoor exhibit for animals like snakes, fish, and of course, manatees. As soon as I stepped into this part, I could feel the heat and humidity hit me like a wave, which is a good thing, because I am a sucker for anything involved with Florida, even the weather. Oooooo, a gator! Turtle Turtle Turtle! [/master of disguise moment] This is a croc, if I'm not mistaken. What a shame! When you step into the indoor exhibit you are first greeted with this fish tank. Featuring, you guessed it, fish. Hey, and a 150 year old turtle. Decor like this is scattered throughout the area. There is a large viewing area for the manatees. But like most other animals today, they do not wish to be disturbed. These fish, however, look to be open for viewing! Next Post for more...
  7. In case anyone is curious, we have beaten the "Rumor Coaster for 2009" topic in number of posts! 6638 to 6731 as of this post!
  8. GCII has been doing rehab on Thunder Road at Carowinds for years. I think they do rehab for other woodies as well....
  9. Vortex, when I was 8. Trooper mom (Though she wasn't called that at the time) went on with me, and ended up pulling me (Literally) off the ride.
  10. ^Why is the Log Flume Ride idea so popular? 2 Words: "Screamscape is reporting a rumor from a source that Kings Island may see a large steel coaster for the 2009 season, running out in the woods near The Beast." Home Run. I believe this source of which they speak is First Drop Magazine. Which is quite a reliable source. However, some sources are not as reliable. Thats why I continue to take things from that site with a grain of salt. Although in this case I believe there is a good chance of this being correct. Actually Screamscape began posting the rumors long before the FD article, which they used as beef to back it up. I'd like to point out that B&M's cost 3-4 times as much as any GCII would.....
  11. 2 Words: "Screamscape is reporting a rumor from a source that Kings Island may see a large steel coaster for the 2009 season, running out in the woods near The Beast." Home Run. God how many water rides do you need? I think I saw like, 3 of them in 2008. They even removed a water ride to make place for Maverick! NO. They have tons of room. And by ground hugging I assume you mean something like Prowler, correct? Not so much that they changed their minds, but they changed their plans. It's been nearly 2 years since Coastermania 2007, and 3 years whenever this thing is opens. You don't think in all that time, the plans set down in 2007 changed? Or maybe even, the economy changed? In June 2007 we weren't in a deep, long, hard, horrible recession. Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Wicked Twister? All of them people said (Just like what is being said here!) Cedar Point has no room they can't do it.
  12. ^Ohh yea, that be amazing. A fan site for Kings Island buying an 89 year old wooden coaster from Geauga Lake. Where would they get the money? Where would they put it? Who would pay for mantinence? Who would do mantinence on it? The same questions apply for any one looking to buy it. In this economy, and the fact that it's practically an antique, I don't see this ever operating again.
  13. Probably the same structure like The Beast's sign (Or at least what it was last year), with a picture like this:
  14. I have, Casino Royale, Die Another Day, Live and Let Die, and Dr. No. All the girls in those movies do it out of fear or because they are paid to do it by the Brit orginization who's name I can't remember. The Beast does it because it's in his blood.
  15. The Beast is not a machine or piece of equipment, The Beast is a creature, a being of which is unknown to most, terrorizing the woods of Greater Cincinnati. It is a entity, the species unknown, who's soul purpose is but one thing. To Thrill. I don't think any Girl would do something like that.
  16. You've gotta be joking! OMG, another living breathing human being who vacations at Cocoa Beach! While I'm thrilled that there is a fellow human who can share in the pleasure of vacationing on one of the best beaches in Florida, I am slightly dissapointed becuase I like Cocoa Beach the way it is. Empty!
  17. Well maybe the people who created the site are in Florida, or maybe they prefer some of the rides there. But I do think it is a bit biased. Although, where in the WORLD did you hear that Ohio runs the theme park buisness? With places like Cedar Point, Kings Island, and what used to be Geauga Lake, it can seem compelling to call Ohio the home of roller coasters, which in my opinion may be true, but owning the theme park buisness? Ohio can't afford it! If anybody, Florida or California owns it, and California is broke!
  18. Well Over the summer I may be headed to Universal Studios (And Islands of Adventure of course), so this is the one I'm plopping an eye on.
  19. It depends a lot on when you go. Weekdays in July = Great. Some of the emptiest days of the year here, so crowds shouldn't be a problem. If you really want to take in Kings Island, ride most everything and not feel rushed, I would think for KI itself about 1.5-2 days will do. Try to plan out your trip in advance, because Kings Island is a big enough park that if you find yourself wandering around wondering what to do next that will waste some time. Factor in the kids, you might want to hit all of the rides the kids want to ride first so that they don't burn themselves out to early. Spend the first day figuring out what you like best, what you want to ride again, what routes to take, ect. Overnight, stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. It's an excellent resort and will be great for the kids. For Boomerang Bay (The waterpark), one day oughta do. It's small enough that only one day is enough. Hope It Helps!
  20. Don't count on it, GG rides are mantinence headaches, and we all know how much CF loves to Maintian woodies. But CGA has a GCII woodie planned (whether it's built or not) and then there is Prowler at Worlds of Fun....
  21. Ryan said that Nick will not fade out, it will be up and gone. Although he also said that "There may or may not be a day that Nick is gone", so if that effects your judgement in any way......
  22. I don't know for sure if the condition of their stock would effect how much Viacom would ask for a renewal, but I find it interesting that since the sale of the parks Viacom's stock (Like Everyone Elses, keep in mind), has free-falled. They are now selling for $15.15.
  23. Cartoon Network? Hmmm......Something tells me otherwise.....
