Cedar Point weekly poll on website
Beast1979 replied to gigacoaster2k's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Diamondback. At Cedar Point though, Magnum. The last couple hills at the end gave some great air. -
Funniest things the GP have said! "Do you get wet on this ride?"
-
Havn't there been like, 10 topics on this before?

Jackson Thurnquist, just joined.

Hey could I use this to edit then throw some words into it and make a pretty nice banner? Sure!
-
Yea, only problem is no one makes them anymore.

Sorry it's a few days, I've been pretty packed. I thought this was worth posting, over the last week I've been doing the Diamondback puzzle. I'm down to that D*mn sky now. My brother Joe tagged along on this trip. Why? Dippin Dots, of course! We were on the road by about 5:15pm. I'm still getting use to seeing this. I mean come on, Look how beautiful it is! We got to the park around 5:30. "Ha ha! Our evil plan is working. Everyone is leaving for dinner, while we are entering!" Niiiiiiice. Necessary Shot. Unnecessary shot of Trooper Mom and Joe. I havn't been down this path in a while. Looks nice. Adam (pkiboy) told us to meet up at Blue Racer. So we did. From left to right: Kat's Husband, Kat (violakat03), person who's name I didn't catch (Said she was planning on becoming a member), Me, Joe, Adam, and Nick (Dare-to-fly). Our next ride of the day was Adventure Express. NICK! Look forward! Afterwards we all agreed to hit Beast next. Now here's a "Through the Trees" shot! This looks very nice. But this looks better! How tall is Diamondback? Well, this is the 9th hill! Boy, does it look nice! We've arrived! Adam and his baby. Same group, minus Joe plus a few others. Ok, this looks awesome. From The Beast you can get some great views of Diamondback. Adam and I rode in the back car. While we were waiting for Kat and company to get off, I took some shots of Diamondback. Which really isn't all that hard. Vortex? Firehawk? Son of Beast? Eiffel Tower? Bah! None are as photogenic as Diamondback. View from a pole. The second helix is fun because it goes over the midway, and gives you a perspective of how although you are on the second to last hill, you are still very high up. And before you know it, SPLASH! The splashdown is just one of the visually awe inspiring perspectives of Diamondback. The first drop has got to be one of my favorite parts. From the back seat, you havn't even left the lift hill and you are already going 30 or so mph. In a matter about a second you are looking nearly straight down, and are practically standing up do to the immense airtime. The track starts to level out, and whoever said B&M's are forceless hasn't ridden Diamondback. You are pinned in your seat as you peel to the right, a combination of positive and latteral G's in one quick turn. All that, in a matter of 3 seconds. Woa. And then before you know it, wham, another frighteningly fast climb, then a surprisingly large drop for a second hill, almost 200 feet! There were times I was unsure about Diamondback. I'd compare it to other hypers, and they'd seem bigger, longer, have more hills then Diamondback. But let me tell you, Diamondback is absolutely AMAZING. There is airtime throughout the entire ride, some fantastic turns, amazing drops, and the splashdown, it's all fantastic. I rode in the back row with Nick after a 30 minute wait. I saw 4 groups of line jumpers in that time. I'm very surprised at how fast Diamondback's line moved. The line streched through the first set of roundabouts, around the perimiter of the first queue area with the covers, to near the sign, yet it was only half an hour. Kudos to the Diamondback crew! There were people on KIC talking about how they got wet on Diamondback. I was curious, and at the end I stuck my arm out. WHAM! I was soaked. For the last ride of the day, Joe and I rode Flight Deck in the front seat. Joe thought it was fine. We sit at the brakes longer then we spend moving on the ride. Again? Why not! I took this random pic on the way out. I cropped this picture to get just the skyline. Feel free to use this as a signature banner. Here's an "Artsy" photo of the sunset I took. Ride Count: Blue Racer: 1 Adventure Express: 1 Beast: 1 Diamondback: 1 Flight Deck: 2 Total This year: Diamondback: 2 Beast: 2 Blue Racer: 1 Red Racer: 1 Adventure Express: 2 Flight Deck: 2 I had a great time riding with my coaster friends, I'd like to thank KIC for giving me the oppertunity to meet such wonderful people and allowing me to enjoy Kings Island in a way I never thought possible. I can't wait to go again!

"Rumor Coaster for 2009" anyone? This topic is reminding me of that horribly off topic thread....
-
I can't stand it when people do that. I mean, it's one thing to say "This ride has a loop." It's another to say "It drops strait down into a tunnel then comes to a stop, then launches." I'd prefer if what they say actually makes sense. BTW, nice avatar beaver!

My Teacher when talking to me about Diamondback: "And, this was the one that ran as uhm, Millennium Falcon, at Cedar Point right?" giggle.

Show off your landscape Diamondback pics.

This is just my opinion, but I think we should decide on a location on the shirt to iron on our names, so that we can easier identify people.
-
Buying it tonight, ironing on my name when I get it, wearing it whenever I hit KI! Congrats to the winners, I thought the designs looked very nice.
-
Again, I highly doubt it, considering just last year that area got Urgent Scare.
-
If I had to guess, I would say today would be normal sized crouds, roughly that of what you'd see on a Summer Weekday. Yesterday was relatively crowded, and it's a Sunday. If worse comes to worse, there's always the godsend that we love called the Single Rider Line.

kings dominion new coaster in development
Beast1979 replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Canada's Wonderland, Kings Island, then Caro-......wait, Kings Dominion? Huh? Jackson, who know's that's not what it is, but loves to have fun. -
Later this week? Code for "Saturday night!" I remember when they said "Details to be announced in January" and on January 31 they said Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend May 9 and 10. Anyway I am looking forward to seeing full details on this. Since Trooper Mom probably won't be able to do a full day at a park, I'm gonna have to hang with someone for most of the time. Any Voulenteers?

Carowinds is a CF park in North/South Carolina.......

It's done this before. Sometimes it has glitches.
