  1. KI is a place for children and adults of all ages. Granted the adults grew up mostly with H-B, and the children of today mostly with Nick. There still are alot of children today that love H-B. The best thing to do is combine the two. Like the statement I started with, KI is for CHILDREN and ADULTS of all ages. 2nd, KI has been H-B since opening in 1972, WHY take that away??? OK, bring modern characters, but don't take away what everyone has known KI as. People has been visiting this park for 35 years. 35 years of memories, and entertainment. Why mess with a GREAT thing? Even children of today still enjoy H-B. So put in the most popular Nick characters along with the great loved H-B characters. Everyone will be happy!
  2. They dont throw any out the all go to the costume shop/wharehouse in Charlotte. Well at least that is where Paramounts main costume shop and wharehouse was. According to CHARLES on pg.3, his friend dresses a Scooby. Scooby says all the H-B costumes are still in the dressing room.
  3. First of all, the company you speak of might respect your opinion more if you at least knew their name (this is the second time you have called them that...the first I was willing to assume was a typo...). HINT: They are not in the fair business and the company's name is NOT Cedar. Paramount, Cedar, whoever they are, came in and just wanted to change 35 years of what KI was. Like KI wasn't awesome the way it was. I understand change happens, but come on, not that much. H-B should NEVER of been taken out. Thats what KI always was. By ADDING Nick and having BOTH would have just been More entertaining. Do you ever think the mouse or the duck will ever be taken away from Disney? SAME CONCEPT!
  4. H-B was great for 35 years. Cedar Fairs or whoever just wanted to come in and change what KI was.
  5. The Enchanted Voyage should never have been taken out. Just as it was rethemed for the Smurfs, It could have been rethemed for Nick or something else. Then again I don't think H-B should have been taken out. They were with KI for 35 years, WHY take them out? They could have just combined H-B with Nick. H-B to KI is like Disney to Disney. Well Disney is alot bigger, but the same concept. How is Cedar Fairs gonna make such a BIG mistake and take out what KI was?
  6. I think KI even though they do have a great variety of rides, needs more rides other than coasters, and for the age 2-5 people. Not all people are coaster riders, and not all are small children. What about the people who don't like coasters?More water rides would be great!
  7. Anyone thats got an opinion about the H-B characters and the nick characters, I've got a poll posted so go and voice your opinion!
  8. Who would like to see 32 years of Hanna Barbera at KI return?
  9. First of all, Nick today does not even compare to what H-B was, and never will. Nick is just a passing phase! Also when KI opened, it was all H-B. That would be from 1972 - what about 2004? Thats 32 years. Then somebody is gonna come in and change what KI has had for 32 years. Thats messed up! Would Disney be the same if their characters were changed? Granted KI is not Disney, and Disney will NEVER get old. I understand changes happen, and for a few years Nick will be popular with the little ones. Then what happens when they phase out in about 2 years? H-B has been around a LONG time, and children and adults of all ages still enjoy them. Sure, keep the Nick characters momentarily while their around, but don't phase out what KI has always been. You say the contract expires at the end of 2009? The costumes are still in the dressing rooms. So bring them out! Let us enjoy what KI has always been. BRING BACK H-B! Try it out for the 2008 season, and see how much your visitors still enjoy them. If it works out, extend the contract, and then rename rides. That part wouldn't be so hard, considering you are doing it now. In fact lets even make it a poll.
  10. lol, that would be something! But if the train derailed that would be a mess. It would be a mess anyways! lol
  11. If anyone is keeping up on The rumor for new coaster in 2009 forum, I guess there are pictures and proof that KI has drained Swan Lake, and cleared land already to start the new coaster for 2009. I guess all exits from the Eiffel Tower are closed off and there are bulldozers. So any of you all hopeing for a new ride, from what I've read 2009 is the year....
  12. WHERE have you been to Six Flags? Some of the best parks I have ever been to have been Six Flags parks. So have some of the very worst. Saying you have been to Six Flags without saying where is like saying you have been to Cedar Fair when all you have been to is Kings Island, or, for that matter, Dorney or Valleyfair. Great America in Gurnee, IL
  13. I didn't say NO nick characters are popular, I said not many. As I can see you did only name 3! Patrick is popular too, and maybe Rugrats, but thats probably about it. Regardless they will NEVER be as popular and last as long as H-B!!!
  14. Since Scooby is still around, then KI must be able to use H-B characters, am I right or wrong? Then in addition to the Nick characters why can't some of the popular H-B characters be added again? In addition to Scooby, what about adding Shaggy, George Jetson, Huckleberry Hound, Yogi, and maybe Tom & Jerry. Combine Nick and H-B. There isn't alot of characters that are popular on Nick anyways. I would hate to see H-B characters die at KI, so what about combining them. I think alot of people would agree with me. I'm sure if the coasters can be renamed, some of the childrens rides can be renamed also, to accomodate combining them.
  15. Why does it got to be that society is LAZY? A FEW more steps to the car, for some it could be another walk to the other end of the parking lot! After walking the park from open to close for some, a ride even somewhat close to the car would be nice. Besides that like someone said earlier, It's the experience. For years KI had the tram. I've always remembered it. Last year was the first time in awhile I've been to KI, and I was telling my family about it. When we got there, no tram. How long has it been gone anyway? Hopefully one of these days they will bring it back.
  16. How was there liability exposure? It was a mile an hour boat ride in very shallow water. Theres more liability exposure on every other ride in the park. So how is liability exposure even an issue? It was an awesome ride for all ages. Even to change the theme of the voyage to Nick or whatever would have kept it great. If the boats were bad, buy new boats, if repairs needed to be done, repair it. It still would have been cheaper than to redo the whole ride. The haunted house is very boring, the voyage was very enjoyable. That was definitely a ride for all ages.
  17. I agree with you. Why did they take that away and when? They should bring it back. After walking around the park all day and night, its a very long walk to and from the car.
  18. For my family KI is the BEST!!! It has the best variety, and the best water park. I have been to Six Flags, which is alright, but not as great as KI. Cedar Point is Great if your a coaster freak. That is basically all they have. Their variety SUCKS!!!! KI is like a very minature disneyland as my 17 year old describes it. There is something for everyone. I have a couple members of my family that love coasters, and the rest don't. They love the water park, and especially the surf simulator. The rides that they like are not big thrill rides. The biggest ride my teenagers will ride is the Italian stunt job. They don't even like the Fairly Odd Parents coaster. Then again I have family members that will ride em' all. So variety is a great thing and KI has it. I just wish they would add back some of the past things such as the scenery to the train ride, the Enchanted Voyage, More water rides, and more medium rides (between the coasters and rides for the between 2 & 5 age group). If there is room ADD more rides!!!!! It can only get better.
  19. I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!! I thought those were so cool. Even the current characters---Scooby Doo, Dora, Spongebob, Rugrats, Shaggy, Bill, etc... would be a breath of fresh air. That would be a great idea. KI you should think about that one. ALSO BRINGING BACK THE TROLLEY WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!! Without the scenery it's like a long trip to the water park. ADD THE SCENERY BACK!!!! THERES PLENTY OF ROOM!!!!
  21. Yes lets bring back crap no one cares about or some of the crap no one remembers. YES! BRILLIANT! The only way you wouldn't remember is if you weren't around or too young to remember. Alot of people rode them then and would ride them now. Alot of people still ride the train, but if it had the scenery that is had yesterday alot more people would ride today. The enchanted voyage was awesome. Even if the theme was changed to Nicolodeon ( even though H-B was great) or what ever else-- it was and still would be a great ride, come on the scooby doo haunted house is not very entertaining. Also wasn't there another water (log) ride that was taken out??? Water rides are the best!!! There are alot of great rides now, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying some of the changes weren't for the better, and it would be nice to bring them back. Some of the changes wouldn't even require extra space. Also what about the trolley in the parking lot. If your walking around the park all day and night, a ride to and from you car is nice.
  22. Even with the change of the characters they could of changed the theme of The Voyage. Even if the boats were getting bad or if it needed repairs, I'm sure it would have been less expensive to repair instead of redoing the whole ride. By changing the theme, even I would have preferred keeping it H-B, but it could have been changed to Nick or whatever and still would of been a great ride. It sure beats the Haunted House. That is pretty boring. Its a ride it once ride. PLEASE KI BRING THE VOYAGE BACK!!!!!!!!
