  1. Yeah, so I've been to the park three times this season, and I've been cut in front of twice already! The first time I was in line to get my souvenier cup filled with ice water in Nick U. I stood there for five minutes while this dumb woman couldn't decide what she wanted! Then when she finally ordered, the worker moved over to the other cash register, and then asked who was next...this dumb guy went right on up and placed his order!!!!?!??!?!?! I was so mad! I just left...I was already running late for the Dora and Boots show. The second time was just this past friday. Of course it was math and science day, so teenagers that are totally wrapped up on themselves and their cell phones cut in front of me and my husband in line for Top Gun...or I mean Flight Deck. They had to get up in line with their friends. Then when they got up to the front of the line, they all got out, and left the line anyway! Idiots!
  2. I went for my grad night in 1999, and I don't really recall any bad stuff going on! Of course, I was the perfect angel.
  3. This is a family-friendly forum. Your comments have nothing to do with the serious topic being discussed at hand. Please review the Terms of Service that you agreed to upon registering for these forums before posting again. This is your one and only warning. So sorry..I guess that was a little harsh..getting off topic too. After iheartKI thought of places to fool around being a good idea and mentioned that"The Phantom Theater was the place for me ha ha!" or Pilotank claiming "The Sky Ride wasn't a bad night..although it wasn't the mile high club" I assumed..the topic I created had shifted and it was an attempt at humor..I have been banned 4-5 times...hate to go through all that again changing my IP and all...so apologies to all offended. I thought your comment was HILARIOUS!!!!! LOL!
  4. Oh, really? Please explain the virtually identical skyrides that still operate to this day, including in several Six Flags parks.... Not certain why, I just know that it's correct. Explain to me why it's a little difficult to get parts for a Top Spin ride when there are Top Spins that are working all over the world. One year there was a part that needed to be replaced in the Oktoberfest station. It took almost a year to have it shipped from Europe. I remember that! (I think!) I remember each time I went there that season, it was just sitting there!
  5. Thanks CoastersRZ! You seem to know everything about KI! How come they got rid of it? And when? I've been going to the park since about 1988...and before that for Winterfest. Oh, which reminds me...you might know this...I kinda remember during a Winterfest visit in the mid 80's ice skating in Hannah Barbara Land...and the other day when I was at the park with my 3-year-old, we were in line for the kiddie bumper cars, and it all came back to me ice skating there at Winterfest...or was that just a dream?
  6. I noticed in one of the old pics here on the site that there was a sky ride landing pic...can anyone tell me about the ride...where it began, and where it ended? Are there any remnants of it to date?
  7. I just really loved that place! It was a good alternative to the usual stuff all the other food shops sold! I remember when it was the Chaquita place! And they used to have all the bananas and strawberries laying in the front window! Ahh the good old days
  8. One of my favorite places to get something to eat (or in this case drink) is the smoothie shop near sawn lake. We always hit that place, and then headed for The Beast, and enjoyed our smoothies while we waited in line! Does anyone think it will be destroyed from the construction going on now? I HOPE NOT! My fave was the Strawberry/banana smoothie. I'd been getting it since I was 10...I'm 27 now! LOL!
  9. I wish that Octoberfest was more themed...there is nothing there besides the Festhaus that is octoberfest-related. I guess the Viking Ship is there, but is that supposed to be part of octoberfest? I have a question about the water garden area...it used to be the "Paramount Story" but what was the original purpose of that area? Was it the Beer Garden? And did they sell beer there?
  10. Phantom Theater was the place for me... ha ha! Which, along with the activities of many, many others each day (sigh), is one of the primary reasons Phantom Theater is no more. And that the new ride has things to keep peoples' hands and eyes busy doing things....shooting guns... I was on it the other day with my son, and my gun didn't even work! Maybe I'll ride it again with my husband for some real entertainment! BA-HA!
  11. Phantom Flyers is fun for the kid in you, and the adult in you too...if you know what I mean!!! BA-HA! LOL!
  12. PKIDelirium...I see you live in Xenia. I live in Jamestown. I was in Xenia today when the "tornado" was in New Jasper! Dude, Xenia is just about the last place you want to be during a tornado warning. PKI - so true! My parents were in the 74 tornado....and my mom's friends parents live in Arrowhead Neighborhood where that big F5 touched down in 74 (where my parents lived when they first were married) they say they call out warnings like its chocolate! I've lived in Jamestown my whole life (27 years) but my parents are both from Xenia, and they were both in the 1974 tornado. My mom was 21. She said she and my aunt went out and walked around right after it passed...she said it was dumb to do that, but they did it anyway...I think people in Xenia are terrified of tornados, giving the history. I am scared of them too, and I've never been in one! Has Kings Island ever been in a tornado?
  13. We could start a thread about the places everyone has fooled around. Phantom Theater was the place for me... ha ha!
  14. I wanted to spend my mother's day with my kids at the park today, but I am not sure if we should go or not! Right now the sun is out (in Jamestown, Ohio) but I am afraid it would not be a good day with the rain. And would they close the park due to the weather if it keeps raining?!?!?! I need advice
  15. PKIDelirium...I see you live in Xenia. I live in Jamestown. I was in Xenia today when the "tornado" was in New Jasper!
  16. I think a rivet is one of those round metal things on clothes...pants mostly. This is nothing new. Years ago when it was still Water Works, my brother's friend had swimming trunks with a zipper, and they told him that wasn't allowed. I guess so they don't scratch the slides?
  17. So can you see the remains of the king cobra track from the I-Tower? And also, the other day when I was at the park, I was at Action Zone, and I thought the old KC station was still standing, but then again, it could have been adventure ex...
  18. I was 10 years old, and I rode The Vortex with my dad...it had to be with my dad because I thought my mom was strong enough or big enough to protect me Now that I think about it, my parents just threw me on the most intimidating ride (at that time) for my first roller coaster ever! Kinda funny I guess they figured I'd either hate the ride, and never ride roller coasters again, or turn out like I am today, and absolutely LOVE them! Thanks mom and dad
  19. Oh yeah, and another thing...while I was waiting in line for The Beast on Friday (While it was broken down) NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK was playing!?!?!?!?! "You got the right stuff!" Now seriously...why in the *#(@(*(! would they play that...then "Girls just want to have fun" came on after that! COME ON! Put some ambiance back into the park/stations!
  20. Ok, so Sunday I was strolling down International Street, taking in the wonderful ambience that is KI...when all of a sudden I realized something...I couldn't hear the Indiana Jones Theme music playing...it was Ricky Martain!?!?! Hello!?! I'm totally for Paramount getting the heck out of KI, but please, Ricki Martain?!?! International Street is one of the most special places at KI, and the Paramount theming music was definitly missing! Comments???
  21. I so agree about the unique dining experiences!!!! Although Graeter's ROCKS, and Starbucks and Cinnabon are great, I can go to my local mall for all of those!?!?! Has anyone made it to the "Wings Buffet" yet? Wondered how that was?!?!?
  22. Actually, I believe it was outside of white water canyon, while your standing in line.
  23. And on the subject of breastfeeding, I believe that you can visit the Baby Care Center in Nickelodeon Universe (across from Chik-Fil-A, and they have places for you to breast feed in a more private environment. Yeah, I was thinking about that place! I'll have to make sure I remember that when it's time to feed I know your right about the security guards...it just cracks me up the outfits they make them wear, and the fact that they are so tiny, and young I guess when you are waiting in line for more than an hour, you start to think about those things! ha ha!
  24. If you look carefully, you could probably find half consumed Cokes left on tables, with ice still in them! Think of the money you could save. Add a half eaten hamburger, a few left over fries.... OMG! That is great advice! I never thought of that Thanks! ha ha!
  25. Actually, I kind of look at getting the souvenier cup as kind of a way to beat the system, and save $7.44 ha ha! Now that we're on the topic of the "security guards" I just have to say this...does anyone really take a 17 year-old "security guard" serious? I mean, just because KI dresses them up in these fancy prancy "cop" costumes...doesn't make them law enforcement. The girl that checked my diaper bag was probably the size of my husband's leg, and she was probably 18 at the oldest... I was waiting in line for The Beast on Friday while it was broken down...the crowd was getting a little wild, and along comes this puny little guy, no older then 20 probably, walking up the exit in his costume It was more hilarious then it was intimidating!! BA-HA! I pretty much equate KI security guards to the mall security...only the mall security guards probably are getting paid more
