I was at the park on Wednesday...needless to say it was pretty tame. The park closed at 8:00 PM, there was obviously no fireworks display that day, and Boomerang Bay was closed. Here's my question: Is it fair that Kings Island charge full price admission? I have a season pass, so it doesn't really affect me. But for the people who just went down for the day, and were planning on being there all day and doing everything, is it fair that they pay full price admission? Has Kings Island ever thought about giving a discount to patrons on the days when they can't run the park at full operation? THe reason why I am wondering is because there was a person at Guest Relations complaining. I didn't stick around long enough to hear the outcome, but it just got me thinking.

I don't like Pepsi...I'm a Coke drinker, so I'm glad to see Coke throughout the park...Props to Paramount for making a great decision on the Coke Contract.

7 years doing work for Hamilton County Department of Human Services (Now Known as Jobs and Family Services) - 4 of those working as an ongoing case manager in the Children's Services Division - Add in teaching parenting classes on Saturday's and some weeknights. I've been single for going on 4 years now. My partner and I were together for 7 years and he was not interested in having kids. I won't have kids until I'm in another committed relationship. So if it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it's not meant to be. I understand completely...sometimes it happens when you least expect it

Oh Contrair! It's far less a concern about parents "bruising their kid's egos and far more about poor parenting. More often you run into parents that will say that their little darling is just perfect. How often have you been in a restaurant or public place and a child has just gone wild. The parent will just sit there and ignore the entire situation. I was in a nice Cuban restaurant about a year ago. These brats were running up and down the aisles while their parents sat their at their table and ate. The wait staff had no idea what to do or what to say. Sooooo..... I got up, went to their table and told them that they needed to control their children. The mother got up in a huff and took the children outside. Everyone at the other table just looked shocked that they had been told to take care of these little monsters. That's one of the main reasons that I'm in support of a children's and non-children's section of restaurants. Are you really a pediatrician? If you are, you're aware that there is a difference between abuse and discipline. No one "goes to jail" for discipline or corporal punishment. As for going to jail, that is not normally what happens in abuse cases. You would appear before a Magistrate to determine the next course of action and the children would be placed into protective custody. But as a pediatrician you know this? Yes! Med School, residency, balancing three kids, and being married...all by 27. Why are you so interested in me being a doctor anyway? As I said in a former post, I do not practice because I stay home with my kids. I will admit that I am relatively young and I don't have a lot of experience compared to other people in my field, but full fledge doctor...yes. Me having my specialization in pediatrics has nothing to do with my former post btw. Anyway, I was being sarcastic about going to jail for spanking. All I was saying was that if I want to spank my children, I will, and I could care less what the public thinks if they see me spank my child. And probably in 15 years my children won't be the ones line jumping. Don't be so sure. I have done a lot of things my folks would never think I would do. Kudos to you for staying home with the kids-I would much rather work. Being in the medical field and seeing what a mess it is, there is no way I would do it even though I considered PA school at one time. Don't you miss using your education? Thank you! I just went to school because it was what I was expected to do by my parents. And then I just kept going, and going and going! But all I ever wanted to do was be a stay-at-home mom, so in my eyes I am doing what I always wanted to do...I have my dream job There are days when I need to escape though...that's when I head to Kings Island Sometimes alone if I'm lucky

I'm willing to bet that WooferBearATL doesn't have any kids either.

I will spank my 4-year-old in public if I have to. If I didn't, then he'd learn that its ok to act up in public because he can't get spanked, and he'll continue to do it! One quick smack on the bottom and he'll quit what he's doing with no questions asked. If I get put in jail, I just figure my husband makes enough money to bail me out LOL!

Quick question.....can I bring my own food/drink into the park?
IheartKI replied to nitrox28's topic in Kings Island
Actually, I've been to the park five times now, and each time I have brought in snacks and juice boxes. I put them in the diaper bag...and I have not had it searched yet. Last summer we had a two liter of Coke, and a security guy walked by and said "I don't blame you!" LOL! -
It was great...I just love to people watch...I think Coney Mall is the best place for people watching...what do you think?
-
I just wondered if anyone else had seen her, because she was there for a good 45 minutes playing it...she had to have spend like $20! I was people watching waiting for the kiddies, and if you saw her, you wouldn't forget her. I was especially watching the people's faces who saw her as they were walking by. She was probably in her 30's...she was about 5'0" and about 220 LBS...here's the kicker...she was in a tye-back tube top type shirt...it was just wrong. I just wondered if anyone else here on the forum had seen her...but I will give her this...she was really, really good!

If you happened to be at the park yesterday (may 24) and saw a woman doing dance revolution at the arcade in coney mall, please let me know your thoughts...if you saw it, you know what I'm talking about.
-
Nick Universe is the one place in the park where I'd like to have a drink!!!! LOL! Especially after I've been there for 8 hours! ha ha!

The rest of this thread pretty much makes my comment almost unnecessary, but I still must ask, is it okay if mature idiots make out in line? Mature idiots aren't the ones making out in line, they are the ones lighting up the cigs.
-
It's not always the kids though...even some adults! I give the kids more credit than the adults. The adults should know better.

I guess I'm just too old to get it. I don't. Would these people do that in front of their parents? Because most of the people doing it were not out of high school. And the fact that I had my 10 and 11 year old nephews with me...they were like "GROSS!" I told them, "That's right, you better never do that!" LOL! This one couple in front of us for FOF was absolutely ridiculous! The guy was about the size of my leg, and the girl was about the size of 5 of my legs, and they couldn't keep their hands off of each other. I was worried about the rides making me lose my lunch, but that pretty much did it. HA HA! I am just venting, because it was literally every line I stood in today!
-
So I was at KI today, and it was CROWDED...we even had to wait in line for amazon falls. Anyway, every single stinkin time I was in a line, low and behold...there was a couple in front of me with their hands all over each other, and their tounges down each other's throats! If ride ops can tell people to get down off the bars while in line, not to smoke while in line, can they please tell imature idiots to not make out in line?!?!?!! Does this bug/gross anyone else out?
-
A lot of things are child's play for me, but not common sense things LOL! I suppose that's why I was good in school

I was in line for The Vortex the other day, and I was looking for the old footers from The Bat...I thought I saw a couple...did they use most of the old bat footers for The Vortex? Also, can anyone tell me about the old Screamin Demon? I never knew it, and would like to know more about the history of it. Where it was located, why they got rid of it, and where it is now.

I remember going to that little theater. We sat on the floor, and then there was like a roller coaster movie that you watched.
-
I would sent $50 with your child for food...seriously! I took my nephew and his friend. The very first place we stopped to get a "little snack" my nephew's friend got a cheesburger, french fries and a large pop. His mom sent him with $15 for the whole day! Obviously he was out of money, and left my sister-in-law obligated to pay for the rest of his food the rest of the day! Kids don't comprehend money and the price of food.

I've been to Kings Island twice now while pregnant. I have three kids, but I was there when I was pregnant with my first in 2004. Anyway, I went knowing that there wasn't much I could ride, but more for the people watching, good company I was with, and more importantly, THE FOOD! I did ride the little kiddie train in NU, but that was only because we had kids in our group. Other than that, I really didn't ride anything else. All the rides have a warning out in front that tell you if you are prego you can't ride, so just look for those signs. PS: It was still blast! I was 6 and 7 months pregnant when I went. Hope this helps! I would recommend lots of water, and resting too! But if you are going to catch all the shows, that will be good rest! Just make sure she is plenty hydrated! The Grand Carousel is another.

OK, so it's not fair to make someone wait an extra train while someone in a wheelchair boards a ride but it is fair to make someone walk from overflow parking? Two different scenerios. And, I still stand by what I said...on both topics Thanks! Bottom line is, probably if they still had the trams, KI would charge $15 to park instead of the $10 they do now.
-
I think I saw the trams the other day from the SOB hill! As a pediatrician, I don't think it's such a bad idea that they got rid of the trams. For some kids that visit the park, walking is about the only exercise they get, and if it means that they have to walk an extra 5 minutes to get to the entrance, rather than riding the tram, then it's not so bad.

So people who are wheel chair bound are not allowed to ride in the front seat of the car? WOW...be thankful you have the ability to walk or even stand in line. What a shallow butthead you must be that you can't wait for ONE MORE CAR. Yes, I do not believe that a person in a wheelchair should be allowed to ride in the front seat, or the back seat either for that matter. Everyone knows the front and back seats of the roller coasters are the most popular. Therefore, someone who gets to "cut" in line shouldn't be allowed to cut in the lines that are the longest and most popular. When people wait in line for the front/back seat, it can easily be an extra 10-15 minute wait...it isn't fair to make them wait for"one more car." As for your comment about me being a shallow butthead, I am a pediatrician...and I've never met a children's doctor who is shallow. I don't actually practice because currently I'm a stay-at-home mom, because my husband is also a doctor, and I feel like my kids come first above my career FYI.
-
Does it get on anyone else's nerves when the people in Wheelchairs just have to ride in the front seat!?!?!!? If I'm ever in a wheelchair, and I dont' have to wait in line for a rollercoaster, I am not going to ride in the front seat. I will go to the middle. I would feel guilty doing that. Also, CoastersRZ, you know everything...is it right that a person in a wheelchair gets to take like 5 other people with them on the ride? Meaning, the other five get to cut in line with the person in the wheelchair? I mean, I can understand the person's ride partner, but the whole dang party? Part of me doesn't think that is entirely fair. Of course they all have to ride in the first and second seats too...and usually it's when I'm the next one in line!
