  1. Nonono, i agree with that. I was saying he's wrong about why they painted it grey. My bad, my bad. But they did not paint it grey to match the other paramount parks, YOU trust me on that adderborty. And yes, God himself told me. Well maybe your right about that one. I was just guessing, since the other Gun's are pretty close to the same color. So I could be wrong.
  2. Thanks Sparky for backing me up friend.
  3. No i'm being serious. Think about it, The Paramount take over happened in August of 1992. It takes longer then a few month's to plan a rollercoaster. The KECO company was planning on buliding a new suspended coaster in 1993. When Paramount took over they just added the theaming. Trust me on this one.
  4. Bravo. Now if only they could get the paint scheme right, and not that stupid primer silver color, the red was much better! Remember a suspended coaster was already planned for the 1993 season, before the Paramount take over. That was the reason Top Gun was red. Paramount painted Top Gun for the 1999 season to match the other Top Gun coasters. The other Top Gun coasters are silver/grey, or black and grey. I'm not sure what the orginal name for sure of the coaster was going to be, but I believe something along the lines of "Swooh" or something to that effect. Anyone know more about that?
  5. Believe it or not, Vortex could easiy hit 1600 per hour, only if: Every train is dispatched at the bell, and they are no empty seats. I was on Vortex crew in 2001, and on our good days, we could hit 1100 per hour, but that was a good day. Our average of riders per hour, were between 800 and 1000. Boy do I miss those days of being a PKI Ride op.
  6. Top Gun never had open seats?? Top gun has always been inclosed since opening in 1993. You must be thinking about Top Gun's at other Paramount Parks.
  7. Yes you are correct about that. Boo's Boo's Baggage claim is the same ride as Jabber Jaws Tubs, just repainted and rethemed. It became Boo's Boo's Baggage Claim in 1998, with the expansion of HB Land.
  8. You know I totally forgot about all the HB rides that have been removed. I used to love sunshine turn pike when I was a kid. They had to remove that for Nick Splat City. Also the HB Slide, that was great. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that HB Slide the same slide that use to be in Coney Mall, they just moved it to HB?
  9. The only reason I put Kings Mills on the list, was just because: I thought that people may miss the ride how it used to be, in all it's glory. Remember Kings Mills Log Flume, was transplanted from Coney Island.
  10. KCKC is Kenton Cove's Kellboat Canal. The log flume that used to be where TR:TR now is.
  11. If they are anymore you can think of, feel free to Vote Other. And tells us which one.

I was happy to ride King Cobra Twin at PCW this summer. Skyrider, but it just wasn't the same. Long Live King Cobra we miss you.

You know this brings up a very interesting question? If it's true that it's hard to find parts for Togo stand up coasters. Why are the other 2 Togo stands up still operarting. Skyrider at PCW has been in operation since 1985, now if you look at it from this point of view. Skyrider has now been in operation longer then the King Cobra. Also Shockwave opened in 1986, so as of 2003 Shockwave at PKD has operated just as long as King Cobra. So how is Paramount able to keep these 2 rides up and running. I have a feeling the removeal of King Cobra had more than just not being able to find parts. I have a feeling PKI just didn't want to mess with it anymore.

Actually the speil was: Again as a Reminder Please Remain Standing and keep both feet flat on the floor as you ride the King Cobra. It was funny as the spiel use to run all the time before Parmount bought the park out, and then the last 3 or 4 season's it was running the speil was back. I think somewhow it was hookup so when they relesed the train from the breaks to come into the station it would play. I use to say the speil all the time while on the ride. Oh Good times.
  15. Actually The Beast did use to have different trains? Notice how some of the loading stalls don't line up to the seats in the station? I Beleive the old trains use to have 4 rows per car too, i'm not sure about that. But the trains did use to look different. Anyone been around longer than some of us, could be explain it to us? Thanks
  16. Where is this survey? Are they doing it at park, or are they somewhere you can take it online. Thanks.

Yes they were a pond where the helix of the King Cobra was. I'm not sure exactly when they got rid of it. But the pond used to extend from the helix of the King Cobra and over to the tables at the restruant on the other side. They were fish in the pond as well.
  18. First of all I'm not trying to get attention, second I never said I hated Son of Beast. I really love the Son of Beast but all i'm stating is that yesterday was the worse ride I had on it this far. I've been riding it quite a few times since 2000.
  19. Today 8/18 I took a trip back to my home park Paramount's Kings Island. I rode Son of Beast for the first time since June, since it was closed on my last visit last month. But from my last ride in June it was terrible. The whole train was shaking worse then I ever remember. (By the way I normally always ride in 6-3 and yes I know it's a wheel seat but normally it wasn't this bad.) I think something really needs to be done with SOB but what? The trains for one need to go, maybe retracked sections. But if Son of Beast keeps this up someone may get hurt. What do yo uall think?
  20. Notice they are saying Waterworks is only 15 acers. Remember back in 1997 they doubled the size of waterworks to 30 acers. I have a feeling that some of the older watersides that have been open since 1989 will be removed and some new better waterslides but in place for 2004. I have a feeling the wave pool which is only 6 years old and Whip Out Beach only 5 years old will remain. Do any of you remember the surveys on thrillnetwork.com? They had one a couple of month's ago about water parks. I bet they are going to really theme up the waterpark and change the name. So Waterworks that we know today will be no more. Do you see what I'm getting at?
  21. Actually they redid The Beast's Claw prints for the 20th anniversary of The Beast. But the orginal prints that I can remember where much bigger and they were white. Yeah Vortex still does have a painted yellow lines. But they used to have the logo painted and it went much farther down the mindway. As for Adventure Express I belive it was some kind of a pyrmid with an arrow pointed torwards the que. But that was been quite a while ago.
  22. The Vortex line use to strertch pretty far down coney mall. I remember seeing it almost as far back as Skyline when it first opened. Do any of you remember the paintings on the ground that used to be painted that showed where the lines should go when they were out of the que. Vortex use to have The Vortex logo down. The Beast used to have claw prints, and also Adventure Express had them as well as Flight Commander. Boy that seem so long ago, but I remember them like it was just yesterday.
  23. Are there going to be a calander put up on cafe express for 2004? The 2003 calander was cool. It would be a neat idea to have a new one for 2004 with different pics.
