I have never heard any park make the claim that the only money they make comes in from families. Yes they make a lot from groups and events and even from teenagers especially at Halloween time. But it is a true fact that families is where the biggest revenue source comes from. Keep in mind that would include a Mom and Dad bringing their teenage children to the park as well. i agree with both of you. but the one thing is, whenever usually when I am there with my family or a friend's family we usually pack lunch then go out to the parking lot and eat it at lunch time.

^but then again, Firehawk did come from another Cedar Fair park...
-
thats a good point. and the two thrill rides in three years is a lot is a good argument

Okay, so at the press release for Diamondback last year, I overheard a representative from Cedar Fair talking to a guest about how the company has realized that "families are where the money comes from". He said two other things: 1. Kings Island would not be getting any major rides any time soon. 2. Cedar Fair will most likely not be installing any TTD type rides into any of their parks in the future. Let's look at the flaws in the statment that money comes from the families, so we won't be getting any major rides: 1. Who says families can't ride big rides? If a whole family is there, can't the bigger kids go with one adult to the big rides while the younger kids go with one adult to the smaller rides? I believe so. 2. Who says the moneys coming from families. I really hate to break it to you guys, but whenever I go to Kings Island I see WAY more teenagers with their friends than I do full families. 3. Go into Action Zone and Nickelodeon Universe and compare the number of people in each one. Include people in ride lines too. Notice a difference? There are a lot more people in Action Zone than there are Nick Universe. So, you guys can think what you want to think, but I do not agree with that statement.

No wonder we traveled so well together :-) I absolutely loved Canyon Blaster and couldn't ride enough, hoping to go back out in the fall. Manhattan Express would be more useful as scrap metal. Georgia Cyclone = coaster bliss......Son of Beast can burn and yeah Millennium Force is a snoozefest :-) If only I could get you to come to your senses about Nitro!!! ;-) Oh, but you'll never find me hanging out the side of a h.........better stay quiet hehe I guess I just kinda thought it was bland. Kind of like Corkscrew at CP. The loops are fun, but other than that, theres no hills, or helixes, and every time you went into the "canyon", it seemed as though you coould stick your arm out and break your wrist due to the fact that it's right outside the car. Anyway, what exactly is an Arrow looper?
-
yeah when i was there i did go to the Adventuredome. The Canyon Blaster was an okay ride, 2 loops, 2 cokscrews, but i felt that it was too short and was missing tome essential elements. On the upside, A must-ride is the NY-NY Hotel rollercoaster. good hill, a loop, and another hoosy-whatsy(upsidedown thing). Why didnt you like it? I thought it was a great ride. Stratosphere still definitely had the best rides in town
-
haha the red train was closed for a short period of time tonight because somebody puked on it.
-
I was looking to see how many people from good old Ohio have been up the Stratosphere and ridden at least one ride. My trip there was amazing. Insanity, X-Scream, and Big Shot, are all easily in my top 10 rides of all time. I'd have to say, that Insanity is the best, even though I rode in the front seat on X-Scream. So, anyone else like those rides?
-
High Roller was a boring ride around the top of stratosphere, but the views were incredible. Big Shot was on the other hand an incredible rush of adrenaline along with the incredible view and the most surreal feeling of weightlessness that high above the earth you can imagine. Back on topic - fear is a funny thing. The queasiest feeling I get in my stomach at KI is on top of the Eiffel Tower. SoB, DB, Beast, Millenium Force - no problem, Tower - can we go down now! ill start a topic about stratosphere in the other parks section
-
^actually, from my sister and my dad I hear that the High Roller wasn't that much fun. no major hills or drops, just a good view.
-
wasn't big shot amazing? well, i mean, all of them were. Did you ride x-scream or insanity?
-
Every single time before I ride a huge ride (excluding Diamondback) for the first time like Slingshot, Skyflyer, TTD, Insanity, X-Scream, Big Shot, New York-New York rollercoaster, I've been completely terrified. However, these rides that I have listed above are some of my favorite rides of all time. But after the Stratosphere Tower rides in Vegas, I don't think I'll ever be scared of anything again. Anyway, I used to be afraid of The Beast. I would ride it, but get off crying. After Son of Beast though, I got over it and rode everything at KI that I was tall enough for.

haha kids are getting to caught up over things these days....
-
okay, so i hear about these times when KIC members see other KIC members at KI and theyve never met before. How do you know if someones a KIC member?
-
not really. i thought it was rather short.
-
yeah i wanted to see what it looked like haha So that was you in a black T-shirt? nope. i was wearing blue, one of my friends was wearing red, and i believe another was wearing blue. we all got wet
-
yeah i wanted to see what it looked like haha
-
thats exactly where i got wet. red train. if you put any part of your body out just slightly back, you'll get wet. i started by accidentely putting my hear back there, and next thing i know, my hair is wet and my face is soaked
-
You should have said, " Yes, but this ride is so big that it travels underground through KY, and IN!!!! It's the only coaster to travel through 3 states!!!! Thats why it's in the Guiness Book!!!" You should have said CA and MA. thats 3 states right there. not to mention the part of the ride where it goes to St. Petersburg. Thats not a state though
-
oh boy...i rode Action Theather on opening day...bad idea. Outside, the temperature was 70-80 (my guess). Inside the Spongebob building, it was 90-100 degrees. not exaggerating. by touching the metal parts of the seat, you got burnt.
-
Well, i dont know about these rumors, but im not even kidding. we were out going to get lunch outside the park and my friends mom and i both swear we saw something fall of Son of Beast. not kidding
-
Flight of Fear and I were both born in the first half of 1996. Great ride
-
I re-entered with my season pass in the same day and it created a miniature conflict. nothing large. they dont let you do that though
-
yes. and the hand dryers in that bathroom are awesome! they have those in the bathroom at the bottom of the st. louis arch.
