Maybe this will help you Kat sweet! Thanks! I'll go look at that right now That's really sweet looking!!! Maybe a stupid question, but I'm assuming that's based on the actual blueprints? It seems pretty consistent with the blue print video I saw nice I can't wait til Thursday!

Your actually very, very, and may i add again, very late First of all, it's you're, not your (just sayin....) and I may be late, but I don't live on this site like others do, and I sure don't have the time to go through 364 previous pages to make sure I'm not posting something that someone else already did

I still can't decode the blueprints!!! It just all looks like straight lines going in different directions to me, except for the noticeable loops... I guess I just have no imagination and need to do more research on what these terms mean. In other news, I go to church out by the steel plant that is making the track.... I am going to drive by it after church tomorrow and see if I can see anything lol if someone could please post the blueprints decoded (ie, outline different sections and say this is what this part is) that would be nice I wish I had some fancy software where I could just plug in the blueprints and have it build a simulated model of Banshee based on the blueprints. As far as the rumor surrounding the name... check these things out... First off, read the Wiki article on Banshee.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banshee - If you look through the gaps in the gate you see what looks like a witch scarecrow. - According to Wiki, the Banshee is said to look like a scary hag. The "scarecrow" looks more like a hag than your typical scarecrow, at least in my opinion. - At the construction site there are now Celtic cross gravestones - According to Wiki, later versions of this mythology believe the Banshee is might appear when someone is about to die or recently dead - At the construction site, you also find owl statues in the trees. - According to Wiki, versions of the mythology believe that the Banshee would wail if someone was about to die, and this wail is described to be a "thin, screeching sound somewhere between the wail of a woman and the moan of an owl. In addition, the Fox19 news station here in Cincinnati received a silver comb laced with fake pale blonde hair at their studio on Wednesday. According to the Wiki article about the mythology, "Banshees are frequently described as dressed in white or grey, often having long, pale hair which they brush with a silver comb." Just thought I'd share some interesting facts

OK I love riding coasters but I don't know all these terms like you all do lol. Could someone please decode the blueprints for me? I have seen them but know nothing about these things. All I can make out is the obvious loops but I hear things like corkscrews and such LOL If someone could decode the blueprints for me that'd be really cool where the entrance will be, queue lines, station, etc.... I can kinda make out what I think is the entrance, queue lines, and station on the blueprints, but again, I don't know how to decode these things like y'all do LOL

If I can't afford a locker, I'll leave my bag out b/c I have to have something to keep my car keys, pass, sunscreen, contacts case & solution, and glasses in, but I leave all valuable stuff (cell phone, money, debit card) in my car, locked in the glove compartment If they stole my bag, the most valuable thing I'd lose would be my keys. It'd cause an inconvenience, but they could be replaced

I was talking to Karen yesterday (I don't know her last name, some of you may know her, she belongs to several coaster clubs, friends with Darlene) and she said they're not looking to destroy it, they're still looking to save it b/c of the amount of money they invested in it, and there's a coaster somewhere (I think Texas Giant) that's been open for about a year, similar to SoB, but it has a steel track on a wooden frame, and they're considering doing that with SoB to make it smoother. Based on the pics I saw, it looks pretty cool, but would definitely take awhile to transform SoB into this. I went on SoB three times when it was operating, 2 of the 3 times I cried it beat me up so bad. I'd be willing to ride it again if they gave it a steel track, just to see what it's like

I'm planning on going Sunday and hiding out in the water park except long enough to go try and win Bank-A-Ball, if I figure out how to bend the rules

I heard from Karen (I don't know her last name, I just know she belongs to several coaster clubs and is friends with Darlene) that she talked to security, who knows her well, and said they weren't waiting on a part, they just needed to tighten some things up that were coming loose. Nothing serious, but something that needed to be taken care of right away. That's just what I heard. I was at the park yesterday (5/23) and it was so weird to see it not running at all. I missed my ERT fun as far as SoB, she said they're not looking to destroy it, they're still looking to save it b/c of the amount of money they invested in it, and there's a coaster somewhere (I think Texas Giant) that's been open for about a year, similar to SoB, but it has a steel track on a wooden frame, and they're considering doing that with SoB to make it smoother. Based on the pics I saw, it looks pretty cool, but would definitely take awhile to transform SoB into this.

They were testing it yesterday, full cycle, with music, no water dummies. I asked the greeter that was there if it was going to open that day (Wednesday) he said no, they still have some more testing to do, but they're hoping to have it open this weekend. That had been my guess, is having it open in time for Memorial Day weekend, as that's when they're going to see their biggest crowd so far this season, esp with the temps creeping up into mid or upper 90s!

Ok, so there's this giant penguin at Bank-A-Ball that I want to win. I've spent $20 so far, 14 balls, no luck. I saw a kid recently that won on his first try, and I asked him how he did it. He said aim for the A between the words Bank and Ball, and put a spin on it (which I don't know how to do...) and that's how he won. I've looked it up on YouTube and seen the videos at CP where a dude can win it every time.... he keeps his elbow on the counter and arcs his arm over as far as he can and then tosses it.... I know KI has the yellow line, but I forgot the rule regarding it.... Are you allowed to arc your arm over the counter like at CP? I'm thinking your elbow isn't allowed past the yellow line, but don't recall. I'm going to KI again Sunday and am hoping to win, but need advice on how to win. I don't want to keep wasting my money, but I want that penguin I've already resorted to trying to find someone to win the game for me (I'll pay for the game, of course)

I highly doubt SoB will ever re-open....
-
that's what I'm wondering... but, they hadn't cleared any space or anything for WindSeeker when they made the annoucement last year for it, had they? I was there for the press conference, and as far as I can recall they hadn't changed any landscape for it at that point. They typically work quickly in the off season. I guess we'll find out tomorrow!! I wouldn't mind a new water ride as long as it's something cool. Does anyone know if the other parks having press conferences tomorrow as well?
-
anyone else hoping the announcement is that they're finally getting rid of SoB and putting in something much better?? Y'all may hate me for saying this but I hope it's not something like Top Thrill Dragster b/c I won't go on something like that *fraidy Kat* though thinking about it, I kind of doubt it... it's likely going to be a ride that they're going to try and put in at all their parks. I wouldn't mind seeing The Crypt going either, though that's also not likely b/c any destruction and construction of something there could impact Diamondack's structure. It does make me wonder where it's gonna be!! Sux that I'm not able to go tomorrow. I was gonna, and go to The Beach today but that didn't work out lol may head up there Saturday then.

You don't know?!? It's the one next to the animatronic caveman rubbing 2 sticks together! "> Lol that's hilarious
-
I have WAY too much time on my hands.... LMAO!!!!!
-
Nice. So when the park is open you can spy on people LOL :ninja:
-
Sweet!!! Hard to see on my phone bit nice pic lol how exactly did you get that?
-
Nice pic. Better than the one I got on my phone from passenger drop off area. Real camera batteries died so I couldn't get a good pic
-
Yup. No official word that it has been delayed but I'm sure it will be... gotta investigate the cause (currently unknown), assess the damage and all that legal stuff

It was one of the dinosaurs from the new exhibit. It caught fire around 8:45. Im glad it was not The Racer or any other roller coaster... though I admit I would not be sad if it had been Son of Beast that had caught on fire
-
I was up by Kings Island tonight and happened to notice there was a fire there!!! I have NO IDEA what was on fire, but it looked like The Racer, or back behind it. There was a lot of thick black smoke and then a huge swarm of fire trucks and ambulances as well as a swarm of spectators in the passenger pick up area. The only employee we saw said he had no idea what was going on. No idea if he was lying or not None of the local news sites have info yet either!
