  1. I agree with goodyellowkorn, removing "All Wheels Extreme" theater sounds like a great idea.
  2. I love the cheesiness of Disaster Transport - always a fun time! I must admit I'd be sad to see it go. It is quite an eyesore though - but I love it! And I'd miss Happy Jack so much since it's in the same building!
  3. Makes me uncomfortable just thinking about riding that! (This coming from someone who is already freaked out by enclosed waterslides of any kind...) Whoa!
  4. That's cool that it will be free. I do miss the Krabby Patties, though! Last year I went to see the movie once and we sat on the ground in the theater - no seats. I went early in the season. Was it like that during the end of the season? Or did they have the seats put back in? That was rather odd!
  5. Wow!!! The food discounts are amazing!! My face looked like this ---> when I read the deals on the cheese-on-a-sticks and macho nachos, which are our two favorite foods in the park! Way to go, Cedar Point!! Can't wait!!
  6. Hahaha! This reminds me of the first time I went to KI in 2008, Jeff (count_of_tuscany) had told me that a certain ride at KI called Adventure Express has a huge surprise at the end, he literally played it up for almost a year. He told me not to look online about it, because he wanted me to be surprised. He said the ending was AWESOME! I was soo pumped! We went up that last lift-hill and I was expecting something amazing! Instead, I got the station . I laughed so hard because I totally fell for it! We did the same thing to my mom the next year when she came to KI for the first time! She had the same reaction as me!
  7. I've never really had a problem with KI having metal detectors, I think it's a good safety measure. I am actually very surprised that more parks don't have them. I can see both sides of the story here, though. Why people would want them vs. not.
  8. I'd say the Crypt was very lame after they slowed it down for the last year or so that it was in operation. Unfortunately I'd never been to KI before it was The Crypt, so I was never able to experience the very (from what I've heard) awesome Tomb Raider. But I rode it the year they changed it, and it went upside down tons of times, and it was super intense! Fun! Then, they changed it into basically a ferris wheel! I wish I had been able to experience Tomb Raider with all of its awesome special effects! As far as the biggest waste-of-time ride, I'd say the Monster at CP. It's fun for the short time that it's going, then for most of the ride it's just loading and unloading, since they can't unload all at once. It's not that unloading wait time is always boring (It's fun on a ferris wheel!), it's just that I'm surprised they couldn't come up with a more efficient way of getting guests in and out of the ride. We tend to skip that one.. When we pass it, we usually say "Wanna waste 20 minutes?" But in reality, I could go on any ride and have fun! I love sharing that with my friends and family! The only rides I will not go on (which I'd say are the worst, as far as safety) are rides at traveling carnivals. I'd rather not... Just being around them scares me! Just waiting for a train to come off the track. Eek! I cringe when I see people on those!
  9. Hi everyone! We'd like some advice if you know any details! Thanks! Jeff (count_of_tuscany) and I will be getting married in December and heading out for our honeymoon that night. Our first stop on our roadtrip will be Sandusky, OH. (We wish CP was open!!) We would like to stay 2 nights at an indoor waterpark. We are choosing between Castaway Bay, Great Wolf Lodge, and Kalahari. We were originally leaning towards Castaway Bay, until we looked up Kalahari online and it seemed to have much more to offer as far as water activities (I think the water coaster stood out most to us). We also know that Great Wolf Lodge is around there too. So many choices! Does anyone have any tidbits of info you could pass our way to help us in making our decision? What were your experiences at any of these waterparks? Any of them stand out more than the others? Thanks so much!
  10. A few more mental thrills besides WindSeeker for me are: Xtreme Skyflyer (feels like you will hit the ground!) Drop Tower (the feeling on the drop is the most intense feeling on any ride I've been on, and not knowing when you will drop) Power Tower (the jolt that Dvo mentioned, when you get to the top, and not knowing when you will drop) The suspended coasters (not sure the correct term for them) that are like Iron Dragon (cp), Flight Deck (ki), and Vortex (cw). (for some reason, those types always feel like they are going to break off the track!) Disaster Transport (always a slight feeling like our train will collide with the train in front of us that you can see go over the hill as you are going up! lol)
  11. (I searched in the forums for a topic like this but I couldn't find one. If there is one, and I just overlooked it, moderators - feel free to delete this one and direct me to the correct one - thanks!) What ride gives you the biggest mental thrill? It's not always just the physical thrills that freak people out! Most rides seem to be designed with the illusion of danger, but you know you will be fine. Still, though, some are more of an adrenaline rush than others - and not always because it's phsyically intesne! For me, personally, the ride that gives me the biggest mental thrill is WindSeeker. I am not afraid of heights at all, and the ride itself is not too physically intense. It's the mental thrill that really gets me and (sometimes even) freaks me out! It's never kept me from riding the ride though, as I love adrenaline rushes (when I know I will be safe, of course)! It's just that feeling I got when I first rode WindSeeker (the Cedar Point one), as I got to the top, I just thought "this feels wrong!" It just seems so unreal - to be up that high, out in the open, hanging by just a thin metal pole, barely even strapped in, with the wind whipping you around! It feels like you can fling out at any time (which I know you can't!) It's that feeling of danger when you know that you are actually safe. It's quite a feeling! And some rides do that to me more than others. I love it! (I've been on both CP's and KI's WindSeekers, and CP's seems more intense to me probably because it's by a big lake and it gives the illusion of being more out in the open, whereas KI's is surrounded by woods so I don't feel as "out there". But I love them both!) So, what rides (at any amusement park) give you the biggest mental thrill?
  12. KI once near the beginning of the season and once for Haunt, CP many times throughtout the season and Halloweekends. Looking forward to our Florida honeymoon in December which will include all Disney parks, Universal parks, and Busch Gardens! Out of those, it will be my first time ever at any Universal Parks, Disney's Animal Kingdom (didn't even exist the last time I went in 4th grade!), and Busch Gardens. And I'm hoping to go to at least one CF waterpark this year!
  13. "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield (played in Nick Universe a few years ago), "Vertigo" by U2 (Invertigo station last season...over and over!), "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon (Diamondback line a few years ago), and some of the reoccuring background music on Spongebob (the music used in Spongebob 3D - I miss that!). I love how music can make you feel like you are somewhere else completely - especially when it's related to great times at KI!
  14. Looking forward to just simply being there The sights of people having fun, the smells of grease, the sounds of people screaming, the feeling of wind in your hair, and the taste of blue ice cream! (it's a full-sensory experience!) And riding all the rides, of course! Especially Beast!
  15. Thanks, IndyGuy! It's one of our engagement photos we had taken at Cedar Point last fall (on the stairs outside the Red Garter)
  16. I'll have to try that, because it's a very large photo. Thanks for the tips! Edit (a few minutes after I posted this): - It worked! Thanks! Yay!
  17. I searched for info on my problem but this is the closest topic I could find about uploading avatars. I cannot seem to upload one. Every time I try uploading a picture from my computer it says "Failed to set a new photo". When I try importing a photo from a URL (photobucket), it says it cannot connect to the server. I wonder if I am doing something wrong? Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
  18. I'd like to see a full-service indoor restaurant, and a ferris wheel! It also would be nice to have more lockers around the park. But I'll take a new rollercoaster over anything!
  19. Haven't been on in awhile - count_of_tuscany and I are back - and engaged! :D

  20. You really need to put an About Me section in here one of these days! :P

  21. See...I love it too, but when it plays over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, it gets annoying. Did I mention it plays over and over again? & then...& then...& then...&then,& then,& then... I happen to enjoy the over and over and over again-ness of the movie!
  22. I hope the Spongebob show stays...I absolutely love it!
  23. I've been wanting to know what that song is too! I've heard it for the past few years and it is just totally and completely creepy!
  24. I loved this article - thanks for sharing! I am a psychology major and I absolutely love anything to do with psychology - and, of course, ROLLERCOASTERS! Add them together for a pretty fun twist!
  25. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the atmosphere! - to me, anything tastes better at an amusement park!
