This sums up how I feel about anyone that complains about the new coaster. [/url .] We are getting a new coaster. BE HAPPY
-
My prediction: Banshee 210 ft. tall 77 mph 4,400 ft long Immelman/Dive loop, Loop, Zero G, Batwing, Loop, In line Twist, Helix, Corkscrew New spooky (but family friendly) theme to Action Zone. Flight Deck becomes The Bat. The rest of the rides in that area get re-named as well. Screamin Demon for Invertigo perhaps?

If those plans are real, this thing is going to be epic.

I don't have twitter, so I have only kept up with Don's tweets from reading this thread. He seems to be posting more in the last few days. Could this be leading to an announcement or am I just crazy?
-
I assume they will use the space that Greezed Lightnin', Roadrunner Express, and Skycoaster/Vampire/Waterslides were in for the new coaster. It is a decent size area for a ride, but the 7 million price tag seems to be kind of low for a steel coaster. Unless its a mouse.
-
I am curious what this new coaster could be. The park has stated that it will be steel and cost $7 million. Anyone have any ideas of current steel coasters that had the same price tag? I am thinking a launched Eurofighter.

Let me get this straight. On Tuesday, July 2nd 2013, Flightdeck had a 40 minute wait? That's extremely hard for me to believe! Jr... who waited 40 minutes to ride DB tonight and then decided to marathon Flightdeck and Racer soon after. I'm not saying it's not true, I'm just saying....I didn't look at the time, but it sure felt like 40 minutes. It may have only been 25 to 30, but it felt like 40. Either way, it was still the longest I have ever waited for Flighdeck.Unfortunately I couldn't see anything new in the construction area from it.
-
They were running 2 trains on Flight deck that day and the line was all the way up the steps that lead down to the bridge that crosses over to the station. It was the longest I have ever waited for it.
-
I rode Flight Deck on July 2nd and the wait was around 40 minutes. The ride is still popular and not going anywhere for a while. On the decoding side of things, I have left the giga camp and joined the invert camp. The footers line up pretty well for one. I hope they extend it out into SOB's old stomping grounds. ***Sorry for the double post, stupid mobile. I also can't figure out how to delete my own post****

To those who think they removed a triangular footer, they have not. The triangle form is either the form for another footer or the one that is already there. They would not make a footer and then remove it unless there is something wrong with the first one.
-
For arguments sake, let's say that you are right. I would hope that there would be more to it than either TTD or Kingda Ka. It would need to have an actual layout after the tower. But I highly doubt we will get a rocket coaster that tall.
-
I feel like building a coaster like Intimidator would be too similar to Diamondback. This was to point out that BM uses these triangular footers on their larger coasters, not that I think we are getting an Intimidator clone.
-
I watched the pov of Intimidator at Carowinds, and it has some of the same triangle footers as the one that has been poured at KI. I watched a few other BM pov's on different types of coasters made by BM, and I only saw them on Intimidator. Check out 1:24 in the video.

I am still firmly in the giga camp, but I don't care what kind of coaster ki puts in. Those supports in the pics look small to be for a giga, but they could be for the end of the coaster. Of course the supports could not even be for ki. If we get a giga, a kiddie coaster, or just a flat ride, I will be happy.
-
Pics or it didn't happen.
-
If that means the project costs $ 250,000, then we are getting the world's largest dragon wagon. Or just a small portion of project 2014 costs $250,000.

SOB was a hyper-woody. The coaster terms "hyper", "giga", and "strata" are used to describe the height of the coaster, not the layout. If KI wants to throw money at a coaster company for a giga looper, I believe that company would come up with a design. My money is on a giga with a traditional layout that uses the terrain in that part of the park. But it's KI's money bringing the new ride, not mine.
-
As long as the layout is different from Diamondback, I don't think a giga will hurt DB's reputation at all. CP has three coasters taller than Magnum and it is still a popular ride.
-
My comment was meant as sarcasm. SOB had a terrible layout.
-
B& M giga with a layout identical to SOB.
-
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the height restrictions on the rides. My concern was more with being able to get on a ride and then coming back later and being denied. Even though he may be able to ride The Beast, I may not let him because it's a bit rough.
-
Glad to hear about the wristbands, that will help. We won't have one ride op let him on, and then come back to the same ride and be told he can't get on. I want him to be the proper height so he is safe. If he doesn't hit 48 inches, we will stick to Planet Snoopy.
