Not yet. Rumor still has it that the Villain Trains may go on The Beast. And the Raging Wolf Bobs Train may become a 3rd train on SOB. I guess we'll find out sooner or later.
-
Yep or they would probably snap in half. That wouldn't be good. Son of Beast was swaying really bad as the train crested the lift, on the 4th of August. But haven't noticed it as bad. Weird I know, I'm sure it still sways the same, just never paid much attention to it after that day.

Shaking and moving up and down are two different things to me. Any ride will shake, look at any wooden coaster, well wooden coasters actually sway. But look at Vortex as the train goes through the corkscrews, the entire track shakes.

I know which support your talking about, I have seen it shake, but not move up and down, interesting.

Great America: New name and ride
PKIVortex replied to rcmaster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Wow sounds really cool. I wonder if 2008 will be The Grizzly's last year? Or the new woody will be built else wear. I'm assuming the Great America Theater was formally the Paramount Theater? I wonder if ours will be renamed to the Kings Island Theater? Kinda cool that they announced the 2009 attraction already as well. Now when is Kings Island going to spill the beans on 2008? -
I have rode a many of coasters at KI in the rain, it really wasn't all that fun anyway, the rain hurts. But If it's only a light rain or a sprinkle I don't think they should completely shut the rides down. But if what happened at Cedar Point on Magnum earlier in the season Cedar Fair would have never adopted this policy.

It's common sense though, that the park will be overly packed on a Saturday.
-
I guess either they are having issues getting the stock of jackets in. But it would have been nice, to be able to pick up your jacket while the park was actually open.
-
If the event possibly becomes an upcharge? It will be an upcharge in 2008.
-
Oh I'd love for Vortex to be open. I only got to ride it once on Sunday. When I got off, it broke down. and I don't think it reopened till about 6:30 Sunday evening, and I was all the way over in Action Zone at the time, and didn't want to walk all the way back.

Deja Vu, I sworn I have read that post before.

Intresting as my 2007 Gold Pass says nothing about FearFest on it what so ever. I got my real pass on the first day of the season, April 21st. So that is weird, if yours for 2008 says that. I'll have to check it out when I finally get my 2008 Gold Pass.
-
Will more rides open if staffing allows? Or will they start winter rehab on the rides not listed after Sunday?
-
I'm bummed about this too. I was going to get mine on the 31st. Cedar Point on there blog said they had there jackets in already. So I don't understand why they don't have them at KI. I also don't want to drive 102 miles round trip to the park just to pick up a jacket. And I agree, I'm afraid if I wait till April of 08 they may not have anymore in my size. Well we'll see I guess. I guess I can find another excuse to go up that way that week.
-
At first they said the season pass jackets would be available to pick up the last week of October, well now they changed the date. This is what it says on the season pass page at pki.com now. Limit one complimentary jacket per 2008 Season Pass purchased between September 7, 2007 and November 11, 2007. Jackets will be available for pick-up at the park from 10am - 4pm between November 5, 2007 and November 11, 2007. Jackets not claimed before 11/11/07 may be picked up at the park in April of 2008. Sizes range from Youth Large to XXXL and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. For additional information call 1-800-952-PASS.

http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...pic=2390&hl I know the fact that someone got killed up there wasn't why it closed. I didn't even go to Kings Island till 1987, and I remember walking up there many times.
-
I remember walking up to the 50 foot level of the tower all the time. Why did they ever close that?
-
They used to run both all the time, but I don't think they did that for several several years. However I believe they will use the lower level on days on inclement weather.
