  1. Some guy on YouTube has already told everyone...now we just need stats and a name. Seriously though, I've been pondering that myself.
  2. Yes it would. Of course it would. You would need extensive knowledge of footers, serial numbers, B&M design, supports, and probably months of time to draw that by hand... Your statement is incredibly ignorant, those blueprints are 100% REAL... Lmao! Speaking of incredibly ignorant...I never said the blueprints were fake...I said the blueprints were not in question. I also said the YouTube guy is either spot on, kinda right or not at all with his drawing....if he did draw it, which he may not have. You don't have to get so hateful and defensive about it, just relax and take a deep breath.. Keep Calm and wait until this Thursday @ 10:00 pm in Action Zone. How would he even draw those? They're printed on. All I'm saying is that you don't really know anything you're talking about here. Lol, I'm not worked up, I'm just annoyed at things people say without knowing the subject of which they speak. Also, learn what ignorant means. (It doesn't mean you're stupid, it means you simply don't know) Well you seemed really worked up over it, but no worries...it didn't hurt my feelings. I guess I'm not an expert in blueprints like you clearly are and question the credibility of a random guy on YouTube that pops up out of nowhere. He could have the real deal but I can't tell from the video if it's printed or drawn which is why I questioned it. I'm still on the fence though as to why and what the blue paper was hiding. In your professional opinion do you think that was the ride name/logo...I'm ignorant when it comes to blueprints and I'm really curious as to what was behind that paper....it bothered me the entire 13min of watching it.

  4. Some are missing my point too. Here is the Readers Digest version: I don't think the guy from YouTube is affiliated with KI at all. The media just showed pics of his blueprints or linked to his YouTube page. News 5 didn't show much from the blueprints that the former asst. Gm guy had. Everyone is saying it's easy to obtain blueprints from The City of Mason. So the actual blueprint itself is not in question. The guy from YouTube had some free time and did some editing on a copy he obtained...if you have the artstic ablity it wouldn't be difficult. KI saw it and either he is way off, kinda right or spot on and they are using the free publicity to their advantage...no one but KI knows if the drawing we saw on YouTube is real or not. We will find out this Thursday @ 10:00 pm in Action Zone.
  5. I guess we'll have to wait until August 8th at 10:00 pm in Action Zone! Its killing me to find out if all this decoding has paid off! & to finally learn if the mysterious leaked blueprints are real or fake!
  6. Which is why I think the drawing on what we saw on the youtube video was fake and then promoted by the park when they posted about it on twitter. If someone truely leaked legal documents that the park is adamant about keeping secret then why would they do that? Unless they are pulling off the most epic PR game I've ever seen then kudos to Don and his marketing team! At this point only KI will be able to convince me that the leaked drawing on the blueprint is real.. this Thursday at 10:00 pm in Action Zone.
  7. I agree with you there. I don't question the blueprint itself being fake. I just have my doubts on what was drawn on the blueprint and how it was leaked right after the park made the announcement of when they will make the official announcement. Then the park promoted the leaked blueprints. Seeing the reactions on here the past few days it could be called greatest PR move ever. On the other hand if the drawing is real then maybe that blue paper was covering up a name or logo? Guess we'll find out Thursday night...
  8. On the video of the blueprint it says 1" = 20 feet.
  9. This is part of a scanned image of a blueprint of the entire park. (It was given to me before I left). This is just a smaller generic copy, but is similar to others I've seen used by the park and the drawings of the rides, buildings etc are much more detailed than what the video shows. The lines are smooth and straight compared to some lines you see on the video. It almost looks like it was hand-drawn on the video.
  10. One of the things I thought was odd about the blueprint is that the title just said "2014 project". When I worked at the park and saw blueprints from my many years there it listed the attraction name....for example I saw italian job stunt track blueprints way before its announcement and it even had the logo printed on the copy. This was during the Paramount days so things could be different now.
  11. They arrive whenever they are ready to arrive and revealed whenever the park is ready to reveal them.
  12. I'm going to guess that the train or some of the cars for the ride are somewhere onsite. Possibly in steel coaster maintenance building for now and it will be revealed in the announcement when that day comes. This is a good time for maintenance to get familiar with the equipment and training if it is something the park doesn't already have.
  13. When I worked at the park each ride had a 3 digit section number. Action Zone rides were the 600's. I'm not sure if SOB was 670 or not, but it did open in 2000 and is 29 (out of service code) forever. That was my thought when I saw the number and it would be pretty strange for a ride that replaces SOB to have those numbers as a barcode....almost paranormal...like a ghost or something.
  14. Jeff Seibert and Don Helbig are friends as well. I've had the pleasure of working with Jeff, Maureen and David and they truly are great at what they do no matter what corporate logo they happen to be behind.
  15. Those are used to transport the cars from FOF trains to the ride from the maintenance building. Exciting day!
  16. I'm not decoding anything right now, but as a former long time Paramount Parks employee I really think it speaks volumes of the professional character of Mr.Oimet and his willingness to do interviews like he does. It's not something I think Al Weber or Jane Cooper ever did (at least to my knowledge).
  17. That price is probably based on a bid for the concrete.
  18. Can't wait to see the skyline change again soon!

  19. I worked at The Beast in the late 90's and we said "a full train is a cool train" all the time...and it probably started before my time there.
  20. The holes I'm referring to are in Thunder Alley's old site, pointing towards Skyflier. Oh, ok...I see what your talking about. I was looking on the hill.
  21. First off, I do think this "diversion" will be a roller coaster. Also, from looking at those two rectangular holes in the third picture (they are near the bottom of the construction site and point towards Drop Tower and Skyflier), it makes me think the track could be dipping below ground level before doing a cobra roll, top hat, or a hairpin turn (as it looks like the holes aren't that far from each other). I don't know if this is what this spot is for or not, but that's just what it looks like to me. EDIT: The holes are also seen in the first and fourth pictures, pointing towards Skyflier's giant arch. If you are looking at what I'm looking at where the square concrete patch is with the three "holes", that would be the slab of concrete where SOB's final helix cables were attached to.
  22. Some folks were asking about height restrictions in Mason/Deerfield Township. I'm not sure if anyone has brought up the fact that there is a 747ft tall radio tower (700 WLW) just a few miles from the park. I can't imagine Kings Island putting something in that tall, but I also know that Deerfield Twp doesn't currently have height restrictions listed in its zoning laws for the construction of some buildings. Nothing in that area is really tall besides rides at KI and the WLW tower. Not really sure about any FAA restrictions in the area.
  23. My guess is that the park will expand the former SOB plot and that area into a Jurassic theme. When I read that sign I immediately thought of Jurassic Park. I could see them going that route especially after adding the new dinosaur this year and continuing with that attraction this year. I know Dinosaur's Alive is far from AZ, and that would require a massive expansion and be extremely costly. I just keep thinking whatever goes there will be Jurassic themed. It would be neat to see that happen, and I agree with a lot of you that a Verbolten style coaster would be great on that terrain.
